Thankyou 🙏 A couple of weeks ago I realised I needed to practice self enquiry and you popped into my TH-cam feed, I appreciate your videos. Trouble is, when I look for who I am, somedays all I find is fear, not love. It seems to be to do with lack of faith, fear of where the next blow is coming from. Like most spiritual seekers (it seems) I'm alone so don't have anyone to say 'it's ok' when life throws more tough lessons my way so it can be quite scary even though I know it'll all work out ok. Can you comment on how to just trust and find the love? I do find some of your meditations very comforting. Thankyou ❤
Hi Karen - What you are experiencing is exactly what every true seeker experiences. Don't look for the love. You can't find it because you are it. Instead, when the fear comes up, bring you attention to your awareness of the fear. Notice how there is a pull to want to get rid of it. Notice that that too is appearing in your awareness. This focusing of attention on the awareness of the fear is the self-inquiry.
In Ramana's words, whatever appears ask "To whom does this appear?" Then answer will be "To me" then ask "Who am I that is seeing it?" Then keep the attention on the seeing. You will find the attention being pulled back into whatever is appearing. But it you persist, that pull will become less.
You can't fail at this. The inner light has called you to this and you are responding. You are never alone on this path.
@@TheSpiritualityChannel Thankyou for your response. I am able to be aware of being aware of the fear when an unpleasant situation arises, and that does help. But what I find hard to deal with is the fear that comes up when there is nothing to fear except "what might be". I wonder why it is fear and not love that comes up? But I will practice what you suggest and see where it takes me. May you be blessed 🙏🌈
@@karenwillars4881 The deeper tendencies of our minds show themselves when there isn't an actual threat. The tendency is to project danger on the unknown. EFT can help with this as well. But, ultimately, it is a dis-identification with the mind that brings about the freedom.
