You speak about things in a practical and fundamental way that makes sense, and I appreciate your outlook. At 12:48 you say something like the ego vanishes and we become one with what is. It sort of gave me the impression that we "arrive" at a place of awareness that is somehow beyond the typical awareness of separation. I somewhat understand what you are saying (based on my experience), but/and I have not experienced that as a permanent state of "oneness" where there is no longer a permanent distance from my ego state. I liken my experience more to the word "advaita" which is more a state of "not-two", rather than "oneness". I am, m/l , most of the time, at a "cusp" so to speak, where the oneness is there, but also the two-ness is there but my awareness (similar to Merton's le point vierge) is attached or identified with neither. It seems like (to me) that to speak of "oneness" (or for that matter, "twoness" ) is ultimately the ego/intellect attempting to capture a final mental understanding devoid of the void, while to simply "Be" in awareness without the pushing or pulling of intellect is the best that I am able to muster. I mean, I can recognize Maya as being present, but I don't think or feel that I am able to permanently dislocate its illusory power....else everything disappear in oneness. I am simply able to coexist with the understanding that I am both one as well as two, being neither and both simultaneously. What do you think/feel about that? Thank you.

You articulate beautifully. We hit the limits of language. Not 2 is closer than oneness, but very foreign to many peoples ears.
Being aware of both sides put you beyond both. See Maya as just a movement in consciousness, having no objective existence and its influence will fade, even though that appearance may continue for a while. Remember, Maya is an illusion projected onto the reality. This redeems the experience of duality showing it to be the appearance of the non-dual. Then they can both disappear into the unspeakable.
