The gnostics understood this concept. In fact that little passage which states, “you are gods” is a pretty conspicuous gnostic saying. I’m surprised it didn’t get revised or edited out. There is so much more to what Jesus actually taught about our true nature that the church doesn’t want us to understand.

You're right, the Bible can be challenging to understand at times, and it's true that there are moments of conflict and turmoil within its stories. But I think that's because it reflects the complexity of human life and history. The message of peace and guidance isn't always about avoiding conflict, but finding deeper meaning and growth through it. When we seek understanding, even in the confusing parts, we can discover the peace that God intends for us

The Jews wrote the first bible claiming a story about a man who lived decades ago who became Godly to placate the Pagan Romans into Christianity . It worked so well that Rome split in two with the Christian Romans on the Israel side of the Med . The persecution of the Jews ended . Then forward a thousand years into the Future and King James of England got it and decided to do some editing . His monks were responsible for the word THOU which is used in the English Ten Commandments . The western world re wrote the bible to fit their culture . This book of fiction we call the Bible has been re written so many times it has no resemblance to the fiction story the Jews wrote about Jesus made to placate the Roman Empire .

Every national church or religion has established itself by pretending some special mission from God, communicated to certain individuals. The Jews have their Moses; the Christians their Jesus Christ, their apostles and saints; and the Turks their Mahomet, as if the way to God was not open to every man alike.
Each of those churches show certain books, which they call revelation, or the word of God. The Jews say, that their word of God was given by God to Moses, face to face; the Christians say, that their word of God came by divine inspiration: and the Turks say, that their word of God (the Koran) was brought by an angel from Heaven. Each of those churches accuse the other of unbelief; and for my own part, I disbelieve them all. -from Age of Reason by Thomas Paine (1794)

I feel sorry for the Greek scribes, who had to work in cold damp and poorly lit dingy rooms. They had to translate and copy Aramaic and different languages ( there were many different versions ) to create the message of the Bible. Of course, only to have it torn apart and remolded by the Bishops. Who, unfortunately, decided to focus on the message of Paul instead of Jesus followers, lead by James, brother of Jesus.

    • @chazmorex
      @chazmorex หลายเดือนก่อน

As Watts notes, a small difference in the translation from the original Greek brought about the 'Emasculation' of the Good News in the Gospel. "There is the whole thing in a nutshell. Because if you read the King James Bible - that descended with the angel - you will see in italic in front of these words “Son of God,” “the Son of God,” “because I said I am the Son of God”. And most people think the italics are for emphasis, but they are not. The italics indicate words interpolated by the translators, you will not find that in the Greek. In the Greek [it] says “a son of God.” So it seems to me here perfectly plain that Jesus has got it in the back of his mind and that this is not something peculiar to himself. So when he says, “I am the way. No man comes to the Father but by me”, this “I am,” this “me,” is the divine in us, which in Hebrew would be called the Ruah Adonai. A great deal is made of this by the esoteric Jews, the Cabalists and the Hasidim. The ruah is the breath, which God breathed into the nostrils of Adam. It is different from the soul, the individual soul in Hebraism is called nefesh. So we translate the ruah into the Greek [penafma], and the nefesh in to psike or psyche, the spirit. And you ask the theologians what’s the difference between the soul and the spirit and he won’t be able to tell you. But it’s very clear in Saint Paul’s writings. So the point is that the ruah is the divine in the creature by virtue of which we are ‘sons of’ or ‘of the nature’ of God. Manifestations of the divine. This discovery is the gospel that is the good news."

  • @krisptaco

Jesus was sent to deliver the children of Israel from the judgment of the Law, and the spiritual death it brought them. He fulfilled the Law & took away the sins of the world. What are sins? Sins, Apostle Paul explained, were transgressions of the Law. Where there is no law, there is no transgression. Jesus said on the cross, "It is finished". The Law, and the judgement and death it pronounced on those who were under it, was finished. Everyone born after that was born into freedom from judgement. We are free. We are Spirit (having a body/egoic experience). As Spirit, Children of God, we are perfect and without sin, without need of forgiveness or a savior. We simply need to stop judging ourselves and others, forgive ourselves and others, and allow ourselves to become immersed in Spirit Father's love, if we want to enjoy the peace that comes with it. We were never sinners. We never lived under the Law of sin.

    Greetings
The word ( Christ) is the level of ( Consciousness) that one reaches through ( Righteous Livity), which this individual known as ( Jesus) received from the priest of ( Khem) or ( Egypt).
Jesus never said u must praise him, but he came to show Man and Woman what they can achieve, this is why it says on the walls of the ( Ancient) temples of ( Kemit) or ( Egypt) ( Know Thy Self).
It is i believe that this was shown to the one ( Jesus) who went through internal examination of ( Self) to reach the conscious highest that he achieved.
So when people erroneously call him ( Jesus Christ) it is wrong, ( Christ ) is a title given to one who's Consciousness has been evolved, it is not a surname.

Um, King James was Catholic and he's the one who ordered that version of the Bible, which had already been altered by Catholic church 3 times in history; one of which was in 325 A.D. Also, King James altered many things in King James version of Bible, according to the Freemasons who were the ones who did that version of Bible. Look it up, I did and that's what I found.

I love Alan's talks, and I realize that he is using mythological examples, but he talks like Jesus, Buddha, etc. were actual people. With absolutely no evidence that they were any more real than Superman, in fact, very akin to Superman in the way that their legends grew over time as people added new versions and 'powers' to their stories. He did not ever suggest that he experienced enlightenment, but rather used philosophical thinking to 'understand' such things. Enlightenment may very well be the ability to realize that people are bullshit artists and that theology and metaphysics are all based on wild claims that have never once been supported by actual evidence. But I do love to hear him talk.

Jesus lived. It’s ignorant to say that he is a mystical figure as it was only 2000 years ago. Even your atheist historian will not and cannot deny that. Jews do not accept Jesus as the Messiah from the Old Testament, but they recognize that Jesus lived. Did He rise from the dead? That’s what you should focus on.

…ok so where are you getting that take from? There are evidences to suggest both existed. Just on general principle, the broad census of scholars agree that they were both real people.
Both could have very well been exploited, though I’d argue Christianity is probably the largest exploitation in religious history.
I think Alan may well have hit the nail on the head, Jesus is far more a person who seems to have understood enlightenment and then cunning people saw their opportunity to exploit his life.
