This track is awesome! Never played the original before, but compared it to the original track, and I LOVE the piano in the background which I think was not present in the original one. Also the guitar strumming is awesome

BREW Yeah, nobody considers it bad, but it’s overlooked because of Gaur Plains, Mechanical Rhythm, Unfinished Battle, etc. It’s rare to see someone mention this track when it’s the one track that starts off the game and gives momentum
Really? After spending much time on gaur plains I can for sure say that I think the colony 9 track does not need to hide from gaur plains.
Okay gaur plains looks more epic, but that does not make the track betfer

The violin excels in almost the entire soundtrack. From Main Theme, to Colony 9, to Gaur Plains, Once We Part Ways, and even in Epilogue a little bit.

Yeah, they should have switched the two themes. This much more invokes the feeling of running under an infinite sky and exploring the world outside your small colony for the first time. Full of wonder and possibilities.

Don't get me wrong, I love all the tracks in this game so far (I'm around chapter 11 rn). But this one definitely piqued my interest when I first started the game and really got me diving into it. Helped me get pumped for the adventure.

I was already in love with the original version, but wow am I in love with the style the remastered version has!
While the acoustic guitar takes a bit of a back seat, the violin, flute, extra piano keys and the additional bass give it a bit more of a unique style while still staying true to the original's melody. It's beautiful.
I loved the acoustic in the original, but if I have to sacrifice some of its volume to have that sexy bass, I’ll make that trade

I am new to Xenoblade, and I just bought the remake. What a great soundtrack! Came searching specificlly for this track.
I hope you have a pleasant journey through this masterpiece of a game. Though, to be honest, my jaw dropped a couple of times while playing the remake.

@@MrStarman926 Well, excuse me for making the occasional mistake in a language that's not my own. What I meant to say was that, even as someone who's played this game countless times, I was still amazed by it time and again.
Was this song anyone else's initial motivator to keep playing the game before the story really started? I still vividly remember that whenever I loaded up the game in the first couple of hours I looked forward to hearing this song again, so much so that every time I'd just wander around for a while just to get to listen to the song more. Before the story even really began, this song was the very first thing to let me know I had just begun playing one of the greatest video game series of all time.

As soon as I heard this in Future Redeemed, the nostalgia hit me like a tank.
Having played the original, hearing this again as I started DE was a perfect combination of nostalgia and "I am so happy to be here again"

You could also adjust the in-game clock so it's daytime whenever you want.
There's a clock in the menu you can use to change the time at any moment, it's very useful for sidequests

This song reminds of Chrono Cross hardcore. First world map theme. I know this was done by Shimomura, but this feels like Mitsuda handing over the keys to the car. Such a lovely bridge between the 2 big Xeno composers :D

This game is chock full of amazing area themes, like Gaur Plain, Satorl Marsh night, Makna Forest, Valak Mountain night, but this one has always been my favourite. It perfectly captures that feeling of starting an adventure. It's a song I like to put at the start of road trip playlists.

First Name Last Name I don’t really know what you’re trying to say, but for the original version of this song they most definitely used MIDI instruments and samples for the majority of the instruments. You can tell by the flute and violin patch there - Yoko Shimomura (the song’s composer) is a big fan of those specific synthesized patches. She’s used them quite a bit throughout her discography (she was a huge fan of Roland MIDI sound modules during the 2000s). They sound great and I personally love the specific atmosphere they add but if you listen carefully you can tell they’re not live instruments.
This remaster mainly uses live instruments I think. It sounds like it at least. Except the drums and percussion, those are definitely still programmed/samples like the original, which is fine by me since it’s a fire groove.
I still remember I jumped in the water and then I got chased and bodied by level 70 sardi’s LOL
This song hits so HARD in Future Redeemed, it's enough to make a grown man cry.
The fact that is the first area in the game is just insane
How did they make one of the best tracks even better? (Still behind the obvious Gaur Plains and They Will Know Our Names)
I won't lie I miss the raw sounding acoustic guitar from the original version;
that being said the percussion in this version sounds much more full, it is not just a bass rather leaving a almost high level sounds as well. My favourite is that almost hollow sounding flute that carries part of the melody. It is pretty spectacular all things considered

When I was completing this area's map, I was saying all the time "why is this place so big?!"
I played the second game before this (but watched the original, like 2 years ago), and I think the maps are a bit smaller

You know, I was shocked to hear that they rerecorded the music of this game for DE. Because to me, the original music was already a 10/10 and didn't feel the need to be done again. I mean, if they kept the original ost and made it in the DE, no one would have been shocked and everyone would stull call this ost a banger!! But they made it and they turn something that was already perfect into something even more perfect. The quality monolith put on their game shock me . Video game company can be very lazy and try to economise as they can but not Monolith Soft.
I'm not fan of all the change they've made tough, I prefer the voices of the choir on the original for example
The violin layers at 2:04 is by far my favourite addition to this theme
Even with a lot of the other amazing and triumphant songs in Xenoblade 1, Colony 9 will always be my favorite.
I played the first Xenoblade this year on Switch and was instantly sold when I heard this track.

We made it by finding the highest resolution possible of the Shulk illustration, which was released last week. We superscaled it up to 1080p, removed the text, and put the logo on top! It's cool how instead of having the bass change chords, it just stays on the Low E note instead.
I was honestly thinking that the new soundtrack was going to butcher the original, but they appear to have done well.
honestly, they slightly butchered the battle themes by mixing them in a weird way, but the area themes have improved by at least another 100%

@@eeeeggnog._. well thats an exception, but they also made it very different, it now feels like an epic chase theme rather an epic boss theme, especially at the drop. its not bad and its certainly not mixed bad but still. compare the new mechanical rhythm to the old, it could be a lot better if it wasnt that muddy and (maybe) if they had a different guitar tone.
