Did not make or break a season, but Troy Aikman's play action pass to Rocket Ismail vs. the Redskins was pretty good. I think that was a game winner and in overtime. So many great Cowboys memories. Keep em coming!
The Alvin Harper slant catch will always be memorable to me. That ultimately got us to a super bowl. I feel like gallup is prime to be big in the playoffs
Really feel like Danny White calling his shot in the come from behind win against Atlanta in the playoffs should have been on this list. I also feel like the win against Washington in 91 should have been included because that was the moment when the team started to believe in themselves and things just got better and better from there...
Roger and crew made them Americas Team. Emmitt and the boys continued the tradition. Will someone from this era please step up and bring us back to Glory?
Monday Night January 16, 2023,,,, latest NFC Wildcard game,, when our Cowboys FINALLy won a playoff game,,, ON the road,, (Dallas 24,, Tampa Bay 7) and our Cowboys finally defeated Tom Brady personally. Even though our Boys failed to advance past the 49ers the following weekend,,, that moment was a VERY sweet moment for our Cowboys,, AND it was quite recent!
The Romo punctured lung game - winning in OT / Romo late late comeback against Buffalo on a Monday night / Danny White to Drew #88 against Falcons in playoffs / Romo season opener comeback against Giants / Romo late comeback against skins with broken back W/pass to Murray for TD on 4th down
These are great plays in Cowboy history. One of the worst events in Cowboy history was when Tom Laundry found out he was fired by Jones just after Jones bought the team. Tom was driving to work at Cowboy practice facilities listening to the car radio and heard Jones being interviewed and announced that he had a new head coach coming in. Tom was the epitome of a gentleman and didn’t deserve that.
I don't have that good of a memory! I am 66 and can't remember half of what happened back then! The one thing I do remember is between all my kin we could tear a house down when Dallas was playing and we damn sure never missed a game in those days!!!!
I watched that Chiefs game at a church gathering. When this happened although I was alone, people heard me cheering after a boring first o.t. and came over to ask me what happened? I was in another world.
I live in DC and remember well Clint Longley. It was said that having no info on him hurt Washington's chances against him. George Allen, whose son was a government official, was the coach.
Yeah, you spend the whole week preparing for Captain comeback Roger Staubach, and he gets hurt. Then here comes this unknown rookie off the bench to dig the Cowboys out of a hole. George Allen epitomized the rivalry between the Cowboys and Redskins.
Barry Saunders was close to breaking the record then quit football. Emmitt was a versatile back who also ran with great power. At one point they were reluctant to pay him properly until they saw that Akin was ineffective without him. Emmitt also played through hurt.
How is that 99-yard run such a great moment????? All I seem to remember is we lost that f****** game and we needed to Win It!!!!! as little kid I remember these things that f****** run only reminds me of how we lost an important game. I went to school the next day embarrassed by my team not thinking that was such a great moment
As a Cowboy fan I like the list accept the 10th one. Romo beating Detroit to win his first playoff game ever after many years since the 90s Cowboys were there should be #10 over that Chiefs game. The rest is ok.
Great list... well done, but I think I would swap #1 and #2. Nevertheless, Drew Pearson MADE two of these moments happen and STILL is not in the Hall of Fame. Total injustice to the great #88.
The OT win vs KC is NOT one of the Top 10 moments in Cowboys history...you can only have at most 3 regular season moments in a Top 10 list...Emmitt breaking the rushing record and what he did with a separated shoulder vs NYG & TD's 99 yard run for sure...but everything else in the Top 10 should be post season only...
Another great comeback OT win- 9-18-2011, Romo to Jesse "who?" Holley to beat the forty whiners. Romo came back off of the bench in 2nd half with a fractured rib. Gutsy performance. Dez was out in that game too.
To think its called the Lombardi trophy how close Landry was. Well at least they weren't the viking s with 3 trips and go 0 for. Or the bills who went 0for 4. But they should have at least one more ring . Staughbach deserved it as much as any quarter back ever. And if Jerry and Jimmy could have burried the hatchet lol . That's why they play the game.
None with Romo? He basically carried a team that had no business winning. How many other QBs could have taken the 3rd worst defense in history and still gone 8-7 (Romo didn't play in the final loss)?
Should have at least one more of those miraculous come back wins with Romo, but they did have the KC game at number 10. He was a big part of that win 👍
That moment when Zeke finished the Steelers off back in 2016 was epic.
Without a doubt one of my favorites
And blew out the Packers at Lambeau in ‘16
So was 2008 game. Romo got picked off by the Steelers. Classic
I still get goosebumps to this day watching that game. Rookie zeke was on a different level
Emmitt pretty much won that game with one arm. That's true commitment to the sport and your team.
I remember that game and i will never forget it
He gave the Giants the cold shoulder
Did not make or break a season, but Troy Aikman's play action pass to Rocket Ismail vs. the Redskins was pretty good. I think that was a game winner and in overtime. So many great Cowboys memories. Keep em coming!
That's why Emmitt is the best
Yessir he is
The Alvin Harper slant catch will always be memorable to me. That ultimately got us to a super bowl. I feel like gallup is prime to be big in the playoffs
I hope so my fellow cowboy fan we are due
The Harper catch was a gutsy call -Jimmy J. Was the man
Really feel like Danny White calling his shot in the come from behind win against Atlanta in the playoffs should have been on this list.

When it comes to America's team. It's hard to pick 10 plays a season. 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Let alone 10 players. More in the HOF. Many overlooked.
#1 Drew Pearson was a beast! Yet the NFL won’t put him in the HOF!
Until this year (2022).
He's in the HOF 🫡
Roger and crew made them Americas Team. Emmitt and the boys continued the tradition. Will someone from this era please step up and bring us back to Glory?

A lot of great moments in Cowboys history. But, because of the limitation, some will be left out.

DEZ caught it! I know it's a downer, to think of a time when the Boyz got robbed, but the title if the vid is MEMORABLE moments.
I watched that Chiefs game at a church gathering. When this happened although I was alone, people heard me cheering after a boring first o.t. and came over to ask me what happened? I was in another world.

How about Emmitt's 200+ rushing yards on that rainy Halloween night in Philly?
Archie Thomas My Cousin Clint Longley played a great game best ever!!!
Last game for Roger, was one for the ages...
Drew Pearson 3 times on this list: key blocks in 99 yard run, TD catch over the Redskins and Hail Mary pass. Why isn't in the Hall of Fame??
He goes in this year (finally).
I was in Navy boot camp (Orlando) when Clint Longley beat the Redskins on Thanksgiving day.
Although the 99 yard touchdown run has been tied but what makes this one special is because there were 10 men on the field
#8 Clint Longley my fam!!!! Top ten come back and game ever!!!
#Cowboys4Life
Barry Saunders was close to breaking the record then quit football. Emmitt was a versatile back who also ran with great power. At one point they were reluctant to pay him properly until they saw that Akin was ineffective without him. Emmitt also played through hurt.
All facts Archie Thomas!
Aikman not akin

1971 Next Year's Champions became This Year's Champions
The Monday night W in buffalo!!!!!
Great list, but I probably would have put Dorsett's 99-yard TD run higher.
That run was cool but realize we lost the game that's what I really remember. That we fn lost !
The day the Cowboys died is when Jimmy had to leave. Those were the memorable days
Jim Jeffcoat's interception after Too Tall tipped the pass against the Giants.
Chuck Howley deserved the MVP in SB VI and Emmitt deserved it in the first SB against Buffalo.
2009 game was the battle of old Dallas unis vs Chiefs
Lilly gets credit for the sack but Larry Cole corralled Griese allowing him to make that play.
The cacth by B. Johnson in the Super Bowl against Denver. 99 yard run by Dorsett,
100th sub
As a Cowboy fan I like the list accept the 10th one. Romo beating Detroit to win his first playoff game ever after many years since the 90s Cowboys were there should be #10 over that Chiefs game. The rest is ok.
Change #5 to the NFC Championship game the pass from Aikman to Harper down to the 10 i believe. That's the start.
I probably would have put Tony's touchdown toss or even Newhouses toss in the super bowl
T.O getting hit off the star
George Teague was my hero that day!
Great list... well done, but I think I would swap #1 and #2. Nevertheless, Drew Pearson MADE two of these moments happen and STILL is not in the Hall of Fame. Total injustice to the great #88.
Dorsett's 99 yard TD and only 10 offensive players on the field #9? Somebody smoking that wacky weed!
maybe uh, I don't know...perhaps THE LARRY BROWN INTS IN SB 30 VS PITTSBURGH?
Tony Dorsett 99 yard run # 9 should be at least top 3.
The Chiefs cursed themselves by wearing Dallas Texan uniforms.
The Vikings would like to call that the Fail Mary
Who throws a go from the 8 yd line? Roger Staubach.
I wonder who kept the hail Mary pass football?? That's one LUCKY fan!! I wonder how much it's worth?? $$$
I stand corrected
A regular season game against K.C made top ten?
Emmit is better than zeke Eliot
I totally agree. Emmit was the greatest.
Emmit was greater than them all. Not the best runner but certainly the best running back. Run, catch passes, block. The best overall.
Another great comeback OT win- 9-18-2011, Romo to Jesse "who?" Holley to beat the forty whiners. Romo came back off of the bench in 2nd half with a fractured rib. Gutsy performance. Dez was out in that game too.

I wonder how much E. Smith would sell the move over sweetness ball for?
You kidding? He will probably be buried with that ball before he sells it.
How bout them Cowboys
99 yards and a half
How dare you put Clint Longley on this list? Blasphemy.
Where's that cheerleader today
he did majority if that season with a tirn bicep?? nowadays these soft batch players will miss several games with a hang nail?!!
1 and 2 should be swapped.
Not the. One's where. We lost game who. Cares bout dorsetts run or emmitt breaking record!! We lost the game is all I remember
Idk
