I loved everyone you chose for their unique style and talent. Amazing job Kait. You “ROCK “ Kait
As a Gen-Xer, the Lauren Conrad / Y2K style feels like teen-dream-gone-couture - youthful, playful, varied, with accessories and lighter makeup that make features look innocent and subtle and cute. So much less intimidating than the Millennial makeup & styles of the 2010s! That’s when I knew I was way out of my depth; only a fraction of girls/women in my generation “knew how to do makeup” and even then it was much simpler, faster, and far more affordable (drugstore brands/products were ubiquitous)…
Fun video and the Nature Republic lippies you recommend from Yes Style are sooooo good. I totally trust your lippie recommendations! Plus Paris Hilton, I see her as the the OG, in that specific arena. All I remember about Grace Jones is that she always seemed to be angry...she was either frowning, glaring, sneering and/or actually growling. She quite literally terrified me as a kid!😂
I would add Sophia Loren. She was one of the first to make it with a strong, powerful body (before her the dainty figure was the norm) and big, bold features. She was famous for refusing to get a nose job. Her eye makeup became the very staple of the 1960s, and her fashion choices also influenced the decade a lot - especially in Europe.
