Hey Tyler, thanks for sharing your experience. Debt relief can be helpful, but it's may be quite beneficial to go into it with eyes wide open about the cons, for sure! Question, have you looked at non-profit credit counseling? It sounds like the debt is current? Also, I (or someone on my team) would love to speak with you (and anyone who watches the channel) if you want to call or text me at 833-272-3631 or schedule here: calendly.com/ascnd/call - Thanks again for the comment. -Ben
Hi Ben! This is a amazing information. I am very grateful for you taking the time to make this. Would love to schedule a consolation with you. Heading over to your website now!
Here is one that blindsided me when I tried debt settlement. A lot of times, creditors will accept a settlement offer, but then pull a little end around play and then file a lawsuit for what they didn't get in the settlement. For instance, say a creditor takes a settlement of $5,000 for a $9,500 debt. Then, later they sue you for the other $4,500. That's what happened to me
Hey! Thanks for the comment! What company did you speak to? Give us a call at 833-272-3631 and we can connect you to a reputable firm or walk you through the process so you know all the pros and cons.
Thanks, Michael. National Debt Relief is one of the largest debt relief companies in the US. Are you deciding between that and something like non profit credit counseling consolidate? If helpful, you can also call me/us at 833-272-3631. Thanks,

I’m getting sued by 3 companies, program gets 25% which I found out later, plus 2 creditors didn’t want to negotiate and program wanted me raise my monthly payments from $851 to $1,711. I said I couldn’t afford that so they took the 2 creditors out and told me to call them and negotiate myself. It’s the worse. Oh and one more thing I didn’t miss a payment in 10 years, but I was only paying minimum payments. My credit score was over 700 but now sense they told me to stop payments my credit is at 540
Oh my goodness, I am so so sorry. So, let me get this straight 1) They didn't go through lawsuit likelihood so now you face 3 lawsuits. 2) They are charging 25% enrolled debt (higher end of fee range) 3) They are asking for DOUBLE the escrow payment per month 4) Credit score drops 700 to 540. Hey Nubian, many debt settlement companies only get their fees once they settle an account. That said, 2 potential concerns to look out for: 1) Did you sign up with a debt relief law firm that gets fees before settlement and what does that contract say? 2) Are they settling a $5000 debt then paying the creditor $20 and taking their entire fees? Hey Ben - I enjoy watching your videos and may be needing to consider one the options available soon. Other than the income earned from TH-cam, ‘What’s in it for you/Ascend to make these videos?’ …just wondering
Hey, thanks so much for the question. This is a longer answer to your question, so I hope it’s okay. My family had quite a bit of debt growing up and it was so stressful on their relationship. After working at various companies, my friend and I decided to start Ascend to help people (like family) understand all their options when facing a financial hardship. It just felt like there were so many predators in the space trying to take advantage of people. So what’s in it for ascend? One is just posts like these that are so encouraging. Second as a business we built these debt relief calculators that provide folks with an understanding of all their options and the costs and such. We wanted to provide these completely free so you don’t even have to provide an email, but if someone wants a recommendation for a service such as debt management or settlement or bankruptcy, we try to partner with the highest rated providers and then they pay us for the referral. It allows us to be unbiased but also still function as a business (meaning I can create unbiased content)! Hope that’s helpful. Long answer, but you deserve the full answer!

Hi, I am so glad that they are both flexible to work with you. What is the housing debt? Is that potentially a mortgage or rent that you are catching up on? There are a few things you may be able to do, but it may depend on your situation. IF helpful, please give us a call at 833-272-3631 for a quick chat. Thanks - Ben
Hey Vikki, is your income solely social security? I believe that income would be protected income from any sort of garnishment even if they went the lawsuit and judgment route.
Honestly, at 75, I could care less....unless you have massive real estate holdings (I don't). With that said, you sound like a very responsible person. In your situation, I would strongly suggest you engage in debt relief and take a hit on your credit score, and of course, negotiate a small monthly payment by settling the debt owed on each card or loan. This will save you thousands in interest. If all else fails file a chapter 7 bankruptcy and owe absolutely nothing (0). Moreover, You will recover in 6 to 18 months. In fact, You can qualify and get smaller credit card lines from small credit card companies. I promise this will work! Good luck.
There are a lot of banks out there haha! For example, Discover is typically quite litigious. To get an idea of what creditors in your mix are more likely than others to sue feel free to give my team a call or text at (833)272-3631.

Hey Nitrous, thanks for the comment. You may be able to, but it’s dependent on a lot of factors that I don’t know (credit score, etc). Please reach out to me at 833-272-3631 if you want to catch up.
Hey Kennedy, personally, if the company didn’t tell you this in the get go, I’d question why that’s not the case and whether there’s something else they haven’t mentioned (tax cons, credit score impact, etc). Debt relief can be good but definitely want to understand full context for each situation. Thanks! -Ben (833-272-3631)

Hello, I bumped into your video and would like an advice in behalf of my auntie who is 72 y/o. She consolidated her credit card debt at freedom debt relief program couple of months ago and she was wondering why they take more money from her on top of the monthly that she’s paying? She wanted to get out of the program coz it looks they been charging her so much. Pls advice… thank u so much! - hazel
So I've heard that even if pay off the debt after the negotiation. If the money owed is paid to a third party and you ask them to take the debt off your credit repoert they will tell you to contact your original creditor. Then when you talk to the original creditor they will say they can't do anything because they've already sold the debt. Is that true?
That may be true, but it still would come down to the company that bought the debt. It can be difficult to get it removed from your report because it will show "settled" on your report and delinquency for up to 7 years, but it may be possible with a lot of persistence if you ask for a pay-per-delete. It can be harder to do with the collection agencies.
yeah, a good company typically charges between 15%-25% depending on your debt amount and which company you work with. It can be a good amount but it is also a good amount of work. It may not be the best option for everyone though, if you want to chat about your situation give us a call/text at 833 272 3631 or schedule some time on our calendar here calendly.com/ascnd/call
you should also note that bankruptcy will not allow you to apply for an offer in compromise with IRS. most likey if person has credit card debt, there is a high chance that they also owe back taxes with IRS
So the effects of bankruptcy differ for everyone. It will be on your credit report but you can still do things after a bankruptcy, it just may depend on how quickly you can do them such as buy a house, open new lines of credit, refinance a car, etc. It also will take a hit to your credit. Feel free to give us a call at 833-272-3631!
How can you do debt relief if you move outside the US? I have to leave the country to go take care of an aging parent, but I'll most likely be returning in a few years. I don't want to return to my credit score completely destroyed. Can you do a video on that?
Hey Tassey, thank you for your question. Yeah, let me put that question on the docket. Firstly, that is amazing that you are going to take care of an aging parent. Secondly, there are a couple of different ways. I do have some questions though - 1) Do you still have a bank account in the United States? 2) Are funds being put into the bank account and could you use those to settle debt? I'd love to chat with you more about this though, so if you want to give me a call at 833-272-3631, and ask for Ben or Justin, I can answer your questions so you don't have to wait for the new video. 3:38 I know it is a little late for a question, but if you owe money on a car and it gets repossessed, or you give it back to the bank do you still have to pay back the rest of the money. In my case, I owe about $8,000 left on my car loan, but my car is only worth $4,000, leaving $4000 of debt to pay. Would it still be considered "secured debt"?
I believe that would be considered unsecured debt once the car is repossessed. Could you give me a call at 833-272-3631 if you'd like to chat about option to tackle that debt? Thanks-Ben

I just wanna get a loan to pay off my 3 credit cards, or at least pay 90% of my credit cards debt, and stilll keep them at 10% so I can start fixing my credit score. What would you suggest?

Potentially, but there’s so many things to consider that I’d want to walk through with you such as what is your income? What are the creditors? If you have a creditor mix that’s all likely to sue then is it worth it? Is it credit cards or personal loans? If you have a chance, give me a call or text at 833-272-3631. -Ben
Debt relief programs definitely can impact your credit score. Did someone mention that it wouldn't impact your credit score? There may be some unique circumstances where it may not, but most times it does.
Doing Debt Settlement typically has a negative impact to your credit score from going behind on your payments. It requires you to go behind on your payments for 4-6months. If you are already behind on your payments you may be able to settle the debts immediately and start paying them down. Each person's situation is different as it depends how much of your debt you're enrolling what else is on your credit report etc. If you're interested to chatting with a vetted firm I can connect you to one so you can ask them specifically about what it may look like for your situation bit.ly/3Xqcl1a
People do not receive money from debt relief like they would receive in a loan! Although some companies are now pitching debt relief loans and graduation loans and those appear to be very high interest from what I’ve seen.
Hello Ben. I'm interested in a Debt Relief Loan where I just get a lower rate than the 26% BS the companies charge and the rate keeps moving which completely BS. I just want to pay it down with a reasonable rate and be done with it. I have about 20 K credit card debt and intend to Never use them again unless some drastic event. Yeah, they should have how to cancel the debt relief program in the client services agreement. Here’s more information as well: tryascend.com/blog/cancel-a-debt-settlement/ - give us a call if you have any questions at 833-272-3631.
It should be a pretty simple process! Let me know if you have any questions!
Me too. I'm going to cancel it since find out I will lose 140 points and it will take 12-24 months to rebuild credit.
Agh I totally hear you. Do you have a path forward or want to look into other options?
Hello, I have 6k in housing debt and 6k loan debt and am struggling to both agencies have been very flexible with me but I do want to resolve it asap due to it being a cripple in my life and my partners life, and I’m not really sure what I’m doing, any advice?
Hi, I am so glad that they are both flexible to work with you. What is the housing debt? Is that potentially a mortgage or rent that you are catching up on? There are a few things you may be able to do, but it may depend on your situation. IF helpful, please give us a call at 833-272-3631 for a quick chat. Thanks - Ben
I owe about 19000 in credit card debt. I’m a 75 disable person. If I do dent release will I be sued and can they take my social security from me?
Good luck.
What banks are high on lawsuits?
There are a lot of banks out there haha! For example, Discover is typically quite litigious. To get an idea of what creditors in your mix are more likely than others to sue feel free to give my team a call or text at (833)272-3631.
Can we schedule a call? I need some advice
Absolutely, I (or someone on my team) would love to speak with you (and anyone who watches the channel) about different options, pros and cons, costs, etc. if you want to call or text me at 833-272-3631 or schedule here: calendly.com/ascnd/call - Thanks again for the comment. -Ben
I have CC debt and pay monthly for the CC payments, will I be able to take a low interest loan to close them out and do 1 monthly payment?
Hey Nitrous, thanks for the comment. You may be able to, but it’s dependent on a lot of factors that I don’t know (credit score, etc). Please reach out to me at 833-272-3631 if you want to catch up.
Hey I have a ? If I just signed up however just watched this video should I call and ask will I have a likely hood of being sued
Thanks Great Video
Glad it was helpful!

- hazel
If I live on Social Security Disability should I just wait for my debt to go off my credit report because they can't garnish my Soc Sec?
It is totally up to whatever is best for you, but that is an option, especially if none of your income cannot be garnished and you have no property.
They charge a 25% fee. How much savings can you get? Plus you also can get sue by the lender.
yeah, a good company typically charges between 15%-25% depending on your debt amount and which company you work with.
Thanks so much for sharing. I will plan to look into that and highlight that if possible. -Ben
Can you get out of a debt relief contract
Absolutely, the process is usually in your client services agreement. Could you give us a text or call at 833-272-3631 if you need help finding it?
How does a chapter 7 bankruptcy effect you?
Thanks.
Hello, I have one loan of 15k and another at 10. And a 2 maxed at credit cards adding up to about 12k my monthly and all that is about 1200 a month and in consideration JG wentworth debt consolidation, my credit is at 612 already and JG said my monthly payments would be around 600 a month. My only concern is that I haven’t been late on a payment in over 3 years but my debt is out of control :(

Thanks-Ben
Before you do Debt Relief see the Ramsey show.

I saw that if I sign up w a national debt relief it may hurt my credit for 100pts or more! & last 7 years. Please what should I do?
Hey! Yeah debt relief can hurt your credit score and you’ll see the missed payments for quite a while. This is a plug so I apologize, but we built a free debt options calculator to answer that exact question which compares the costs, pros and cons of all your different options at tryascend.com. That said, you don’t need to take the calculator and can just call us at 833-272-3631 and we can chat through options.
You can definitely try! However, it is up to the creditor.
Thank you

Potentially, but there’s so many things to consider that I’d want to walk through with you such as what is your income? What are the creditors? is there any certifications or licenses i need to start my own debt consolidation/relief program?

Is it true that my credit score won't be affected
Debt relief programs definitely can impact your credit score. Did someone mention that it wouldn't impact your credit score? There may be some unique circumstances where it may not, but most times it does.
Does debt relief ruin your credit score? If so, for how long?
Doing Debt Settlement typically has a negative impact to your credit score from going behind on your payments. It requires you to go behind on your payments for 4-6months. If you are already behind on your payments you may be able to settle the debts immediately and start paying them down.
Each person's situation is different as it depends how much of your debt you're enrolling what else is on your credit report etc. If you're interested to chatting with a vetted firm I can connect you to one so you can ask them specifically about what it may look like for your situation bit.ly/3Xqcl1a
Yes
@@dazzlinginteriors Feel free to use this link and we'll get you connected to a firm! bit.ly/3Xqcl1a
Do you receive money from debt relief?
People do not receive money from debt relief like they would receive in a loan! Although some companies are now pitching debt relief loans and graduation loans and those appear to be very high interest from what I’ve seen.
I need help
Hi Angela, please contact our office for assistance at (833)272-3631
I have a 688 credit score and make very good money still but in the current Horrible economy it doesn't go nearly as far as it should. I will call.
Hey Shawn, I'm sorry about your experience. So are you in a debt relief program, and the program is now pitching a 26% graduation loan where they get all their fees, the origination fee of the loan and the super high interest rate? Or what are you experience?
I know this is a 2 year old video but do you still offer help ?
