It can be difficult and a lot of people do have to put up with that peer pressure and negative attitudes. Just try to understand that not everyone is like that. It's good that you know something that you like and enjoy for yourself. Even if you feel you do have to hide it from fear of being teased and stuff just don't forget who you are and know that you aren't alone.

I've seen a fursuiter or two in my area (its very small) and little kids LOVED them. They got so excited to see them and they would run up to ask for hugs. I really wish adults were this way (more mature though but you get my point) I'm a furry myself and it makes me happy to see kids and adults who are accepting of furries even though they aren't one

Furries are usually more accepting than any other person. People always judge otherw by how they look, what they like, what they do, etc. Your looks don't make you a better or worse person. What you like doesn't matter, because we have different opinions. What we do is the same.

Can't believe it ! This is literally the first video ever that makes me smile for all of a sudden. That was a strange feeling. I recently got depressed because whenever I post a comment somewhere on TH-cam with my account , I can't use a Furry profile picture without being called with offensive nouns or being harassed or seeing death threats by some one. Your video keeps me believe in the positivity and the bright future of this fandom.
I’m glad that I have already given up on creating my opinions of groups and communities based on shows and the news (on television). The only way for me to truly understand such things would be to research it myself and look into facts. I’ll never understand people who hate on others for no actual reason and that this hate is based on mockery heard from some people who don’t even understand what they’re talking about, and then even consider it as “amusement”. Everyone out there be nice to the furries! Really think about it if one of your family member went to the hospital and others laughed at the matter, would that be ok? No! I know it sounds silly sense I dont know these people but really, Mr. Xhaz, Cujucuyo, seriffed orath, Nathan Lopez, Freezing Moon, Jack Hausmann, and YeahBra is this really necessary? Once again, no it is not. If you don't like furries, or anthropomorphic animals, or fursuiters fine but you don't have to say you dont like them out loud...It is rude, uneeded, and making people you don't know is just out right awful. Furry haters please stop, I don't have a firsuit or a youtube channel and yet I experience not really hate but close. Hopefully one day people will be more accepting but we can't force them to or we're as bad as them. To the people who are willing to listen and open their minds to a truth about the fandom I will answer every question they ask. If people just want to make snarky comments or not even bother listening to reason I just keep going with my day. I'm not here to make myself or anyone in the furry fandom a victim. UmbreonTwinkle it was related to the news report, where a terrorist attacked the convention intentionally harming the furries and people inside. Well it go's something along that, I'm no expert. They were just making an amazing point about it. I just wish people could understand more, or at least listened to us.

When I was in middle school 5 years ago I remember people would bring up furrys a lot but there weren’t talking good about furrys, they were talking shit about furrys. They would say “ furrys like to fuck animals” or “furrys want to just fuck random people in suits”. I didn’t believe it that much because middle schoolers just like to talk shit about anything! And at the time I didn’t know what furrys where so I went on google and search “furry” and learned about them. I loved everything about them !! I loved the art and the comics!!! So I became a over obsessed of the furry fandom I didn’t become a member until like 8th grade . I think people should do there own research of things because if they don’t they will just listen to others and that can be a good or a bad thing because people can tell the truth of somethings but most will lie about most things.

This video has so made my day! Midwest FurFest is 1 week away and I am so missing seeing furries since Anthrocon back in July. Videos like this help remind me how amazing the furry fandom is and how truly alive the community is with energy and creativity. I really hope you're able to travel to more conventions soon and can make it to cons like MFF, AC, and others here in the states. (For me, I'd love to visit Australia to go to a con there but the issue for me is affording it.) Wonderful video! It's tough as a young fur. It's up to you but bring a parent/guardian and introduce them to the admins of the group so they know you are there. Good admins will hopefully show you around, make introductions and try to explain to the parents/guardians about the group. It's always hard to make new friends and meet new people, even at a fur meet. It might be a bit better if you are older but it's always up to you~

I cant believe that i used to hate furries but now i am one im not gonna lie the fandom is helping me with my anxiety i have major problems with my health cause ever since i was diagnosed with austism it tore me apart for years but now i realize i shouldnt let that get me down thx so much for the vid i accually started crying .

ModGodVapes Hm... Well, how about this example? It's less like Disney because of location (theme park) but more like the Las Vegas Strip. It's an open street that's free to go to and is always filled with people in costume taking pictures with the public and dancing and being themselves. That's how fursuiting is. It's people in costume being themselves in a free to be public area.

When it comes to furries, i feel quite accepted for being one in the UK as this is a country that famously accepts the eccentric & also laughs at those who are. I think American furries get the worst press though given as the press over there pride themselves on mocking the unusual
Hancockified considering i live in the US i can vouch for that hancock seriously with the 3 non furry cons ive been to because of the fact that im a furry ive actually been called a furfag countless times. the hardest part is keeping your head up in dark times. ive got my few friends that support my choices and im proud of that.

Young kids either laugh with joy or cry with fear, middle aged folks are interested in what it's all about & pensioners chuckle & say what we do is cool. But young adults, the folks who claim to be the most tolerant, politically correct generation come up & go "What's the point? Why do you guys even do this?"
Hancockified tbh i dont have a suit either i just have.. well had a fox tail that got destroyed during my last move. got hooked in the doorway and ripped down the seam. pissed me off. $135 down the drain because the tear ripped the seam and about halfway down it split away from the seam and ripped the fabric. that tail was the last thing given to me by my friend who died from heart complications.she bought it then later gave it to me before passing.

The art, the suits, the characters, and all the people I get to interact with really makes my day. I feel like the media should get to know the fandom more before they judge.
It's just how media works. "Guess what, these people who wear furry outfits for fun are just like everybody else" won't get ratings. it's a sad fact. But at least some media tries.

Cuz this is a messed up world, a world that says good is evil and evil is good, and it also apparently says that weird is evil as well cuz being "weird" is the most common reason I've seen furries get hate.
I used to bully and harass furries, just like my old friends because mob mentality. it was a bad decision an I really regret what I have done in my past and hope to make up for it by showing my friends the true light of the furry community or at least get them to stop bullying us. I became a furry about 3 weeks ago, just as school let out. it started as a joke, a bet with friends to see how dumb furries are by looking from the inside and man I went in not knowing what to expect. and yet here I am, watching furry you tubers for fun and enjoying my life once more without being a jack ass to other people.
Same thing with me, but I didn't bully people, I just looked at one of their posts with my brother and went "lol why do these people do this, they are weirdos" but only because my brother taught me that furries are like that. I decided to do some research on 5/28/18 and that was the day I became a furry. I saw Pocari Roo for the first time, and I loved her videos. I then saw Majira Strawberry's draw my life video, which made me almost tear up. It was 6/2/18 when I decided to join a furry discord server. I looked up on google "Furry Discord" and then I joined the server called US Furries. About 1 week later, I found out about Furry Amino. I decided to get the app, and that was when I found my true happy place. There was art, comics, stories, and so much more! It's literally like heaven to me with all of the nice people and stuff like that. I started to notice that I had butterflies in my stomach at the moment I joined that discord. Because of all the hate on the internet, and my brothers teaching me that they are bad, I felt guilty for being a furry. Nobody should feel guilty for who they are, or their interests. What I did, was tell my friends, my parents, and even my brothers who HATE furries. After about 1 week later when I joined that Amino, the horrible feeling in my stomach was gone. Yes, I am harrassed by my brothers for being a furry, and yes my parents think way different about me now in a bad way, but that doesn't stop me for being who I am! When others try to bring me down, it brings me up and inspires me to prove them wrong and be an even better person. The society today doesn't allow people to be themselves. People bully other people for being LGBTQ+ when it isn't really their fault for having an attraction to the same gender, or nobody at all. True happiness in life is to just be yourself. Don't let other people bring you down, and find great friends.

Remember that making a fursuit takes time and resources and ur 1st attempt will prob not look how u invisioned it. Keep trying. Keep in mind that each and every professional maker started somewhere. U could b the next made fur you, or don't hug cacti.
The fact that people talk horrible things is just mesmerizing. Not only are we very kind and not brutal or mean, we are also a very active community. The news channel is really terrible for laughing at a matter that hurt so many people, but they laugh just because we walk around in cool and amazing suits and outfits. Because the simple act of breathing it in literally burns you from the inside out and causes internal bleeding and 3rd degree burns, killing you slowly and painfully. So knowing that, and seeing the casters laugh even more because they couldn't understand the concept of furry is extremely sick and disheartening. Furry or not, they are still people who were exposed to something incredibly dangerous and destructive. It's not a laughing matter.

Kage has been around a long, long time lol. Longer than me! I was 19 in '94 and found furry while looking for TMNT stuff when the interwebs was just starting to catch on. I'm 42 now and "over the hill!" I've had the same dalmatian "fursona" since '96, tho both my fursuits are bulls. Go figure.

It can be difficult and a lot of people do have to put up with that peer pressure and negative attitudes. Just try to understand that not everyone is like that. It's good that you know something that you like and enjoy for yourself. Even if you feel you do have to hide it from fear of being teased and stuff just don't forget who you are and know that you aren't alone.

I've seen a fursuiter or two in my area (its very small) and little kids LOVED them. They got so excited to see them and they would run up to ask for hugs. I really wish adults were this way (more mature though but you get my point) I'm a furry myself and it makes me happy to see kids and adults who are accepting of furries even though they aren't one

I’m glad that I have already given up on creating my opinions of groups and communities based on shows and the news (on television). The only way for me to truly understand such things would be to research it myself and look into facts. I’ll never understand people who hate on others for no actual reason and that this hate is based on mockery heard from some people who don’t even understand what they’re talking about, and then even consider it as “amusement”. It’s disgusting. . .

Everyone out there be nice to the furries! Really think about it if one of your family member went to the hospital and others laughed at the matter, would that be ok? No! I know it sounds silly sense I dont know these people but really, Mr. Xhaz, Cujucuyo, seriffed orath, Nathan Lopez, Freezing Moon, Jack Hausmann, and YeahBra is this really necessary? Once again, no it is not. If you don't like furries, or anthropomorphic animals, or fursuiters fine but you don't have to say you dont like them out loud...It is rude, uneeded, and making people you don't know is just out right awful. Furry haters please stop, I don't have a firsuit or a youtube channel and yet I experience not really hate but close. People have told me, "TH-cam hates on furries, why be one?" and "why are you obsessed with furries?, they are just fur". If its not nice don't say it, thank you everyone out there that appreciates this fandom and is kind to it...thank you.

Hopefully one day people will be more accepting but we can't force them to or we're as bad as them. UmbreonTwinkle Many furries go to the hospitals to play or read with the kids. To make them happy fo a while is their goal. I also found videos where a group of furries went to a home for elderly persons. To see how these people starts to smile is just wonderful.

When I was in middle school 5 years ago I remember people would bring up furrys a lot but there weren’t talking good about furrys, they were talking shit about furrys. They would say “ furrys like to fuck animals” or “furrys want to just fuck random people in suits”. I didn’t believe it that much because middle schoolers just like to talk shit about anything! And at the time I didn’t know what furrys where so I went on google and search “furry” and learned about them. I loved everything about them !! I loved the art and the comics!!! So I became a over obsessed of the furry fandom I didn’t become a member until like 8th grade . I think people should do there own research of things because if they don’t they will just listen to others and that can be a good or a bad thing because people can tell the truth of somethings but most will lie about most things.

This video has so made my day! Midwest FurFest is 1 week away and I am so missing seeing furries since Anthrocon back in July. It's tough as a young fur. It's up to you but bring a parent/guardian and introduce them to the admins of the group so they know you are there. Good admins will hopefully show you around, make introductions and try to explain to the parents/guardians about the group. It's always hard to make new friends and meet new people, even at a fur meet. It might be a bit better if you are older but it's always up to you~

It's an open street that's free to go to and is always filled with people in costume taking pictures with the public and dancing and being themselves. That's how fursuiting is. It's people in costume being themselves in a free to be public area.

Young kids either laugh with joy or cry with fear, middle aged folks are interested in what it's all about & pensioners chuckle & say what we do is cool. But young adults, the folks who claim to be the most tolerant, politically correct generation come up & go "What's the point? Why do you guys even do this?"
Hancockified tbh i dont have a suit either i just have.. well had a fox tail that got destroyed during my last move. got hooked in the doorway and ripped down the seam. pissed me off. $135 down the drain because the tear ripped the seam and about halfway down it split away from the seam and ripped the fabric. that tail was the last thing given to me by my friend who died from heart complications.she bought it then later gave it to me before passing.

Great video! :) I've been in the furry community for a while now (a year at least) and I am in love with everything about it! The art, the suits, the characters, and all the people I get to interact with really makes my day. I feel like the media should get to know the fandom more before they judge.
It's just how media works. "Guess what, these people who wear furry outfits for fun are just like everybody else" won't get ratings. it's a sad fact. But at least some media tries.

I used to bully and harass furries, just like my old friends because mob mentality. it was a bad decision an I really regret what I have done in my past and hope to make up for it by showing my friends the true light of the furry community or at least get them to stop bullying us. I became a furry about 3 weeks ago, just as school let out. it started as a joke, a bet with friends to see how dumb furries are by looking from the inside and man I went in not knowing what to expect. and yet here I am, watching furry you tubers for fun and enjoying my life once more without being a jack ass to other people.

Same thing with me, but I didn't bully people, I just looked at one of their posts with my brother and went "lol why do these people do this, they are weirdos" but only because my brother taught me that furries are like that. I decided to do some research on 5/28/18 and that was the day I became a furry. I saw Pocari Roo for the first time, and I loved her videos. I then saw Majira Strawberry's draw my life video, which made me almost tear up. It was 6/2/18 when I decided to join a furry discord server. I looked up on google "Furry Discord" and then I joined the server called US Furries. About 1 week later, I found out about Furry Amino. I decided to get the app, and that was when I found my true happy place. There was art, comics, stories, and so much more! It's literally like heaven to me with all of the nice people and stuff like that. I started to notice that I had butterflies in my stomach at the moment I joined that discord. Because of all the hate on the internet, and my brothers teaching me that they are bad, I felt guilty for being a furry. Nobody should feel guilty for who they are, or their interests. What I did, was tell my friends, my parents, and even my brothers who HATE furries. After about 1 week later when I joined that Amino, the horrible feeling in my stomach was gone. Yes, I am harrassed by my brothers for being a furry, and yes my parents think way different about me now in a bad way, but that doesn't stop me for being who I am! When others try to bring me down, it brings me up and inspires me to prove them wrong and be an even better person. The society today doesn't allow people to be themselves. People bully other people for being LGBTQ+ when it isn't really their fault for having an attraction to the same gender, or nobody at all. True happiness in life is to just be yourself. Don't let other people bring you down, and find great friends.

Veltrince Y'know, the sexual aspects are perfectly fine. Consenting adults adults should be free to do whatever they bloody well please. But then again, those who hate the fandom are most likely already very sex-negative.

Remember that making a fursuit takes time and resources and ur 1st attempt will prob not look how u invisioned it. Keep trying. Keep in mind that each and every professional maker started somewhere. U could b the next made fur you, or don't hug cacti.
The fact that people talk horrible things is just mesmerizing. Not only are we very kind and not brutal or mean, we are also a very active community. The news channel is really terrible for laughing at a matter that hurt so many people, but they laugh just because we walk around in cool and amazing suits and outfits. Stay strong community, we are one of the best, and I'm proud to call myself a furry!

OK OK the attack was because of haters you don't laugh of people getting sick
thatonerandomperson worse than sick. There's a reason chlorine gas became banned within War after usage in World War II. Because the simple act of breathing it in literally burns you from the inside out and causes internal bleeding and 3rd degree burns, killing you slowly and painfully. So knowing that, and seeing the casters laugh even more because they couldn't understand the concept of furry is extremely sick and disheartening. Furry or not, they are still people who were exposed to something incredibly dangerous and destructive. It's not a laughing matter.

I think this is an amazing video personally. Because it explains the furry fandom and to think of how many people hate, im so happy we have grown so much. Thank you so much for explaining this to those who didnt understand. This is an amazing community and the furry community doesnt deserve hate. Im so happy for you and ths fandom. However I was more than pleasantly surprised how well put together and presented this one is, showing things in a different, more proper light in a completely normal and non-exaggerated way. This was a good video. It made me smile. I've been in furry since the mid-90s, back when I was in college / university. It's amazing how the fandom has changed in 25 years or so, mostly for the better :)

Kage has been around a long, long time lol. Longer than me! I was 19 in '94 and found furry while looking for TMNT stuff when the interwebs was just starting to catch on. I'm 42 now and "over the hill!" I've had the same dalmatian "fursona" since '96, tho both my fursuits are bulls. Go figure.
