Faux, this was a great vid. Its also a reminder for us older furries to keep an eye out and protect the younger group. From her age thru the late teenagers, for they still don't have the experience of going out and handling situations that arise. Nothing wrong with having guides to show the way and help teach i.e. in strange cities always travel in groups. Even at my age.
IceKnight81 Although your thinking is logical, I live in the worst situation and have been for almost 6 years and throughout that has come alot of different people and problems. I may look quite adolescent, but I am very smart and have been through alot despite my differences from a normal child. I usually handle myself quite well on my own, I can identify people just by having a short conversation. Nowadays, adults think children are very easily manipulated.. wrong, well.. for me anyway. In fact, it hurts me to see a society that solely discerns smol (smol actually you used to be an offensive slang for something.. I forgot, but besides that) peeps from adults and even just teens. While being a teen, I am still completely seperate from adults just because I can't make of living of my own considering I don't get nearly enough job-opportunities neither do I have too much talent in alot of things. I do like art and such in the culinary sector, especially in the Mediterranean, Szechuan, Mongolian and Jerk food industry. I am quite creative and intelligent, I just have a more introverted personality around adults (that are actually smart) because I want to look presentable and act as I described. I may be quite shy and quiet at sometimes, I'm otherwise thinking or just being timid due to being around adults that I have almost nothing in common with or they just have no interest in me (sorry.. that sounded REEEAAAALLLY narcissistic of me). I do get mad at people who think I'm easily manipulatable and think I'll just listen to anyone, I'll respect you and treat you as wanted to fulfill your expectations. I do have a little anger issues but bring in this fandom actually helps.. not just trying to 1 up it. Speaking of 1 upping, I don't try to be "The life of the party" or anything, I just sometimes want to be noticed so atleast when you spot me in public, your thinking "Hey! it's that one kid I talked with, th-th-the weird, smart one with the Small-talk.. n.. uhhhhhh..yeah, that kid". I do have some attributes that are quite odd for a child, such as actually knowing my real sexuality (although not "publicly advertising" it to everyone), being more noticing of peoples actions and intentions.. that one is kinda' hard to explain. This was a great video! My daughter is 11 and really wants me to make her a fursuit. I have one of my own; Karaoke Kitten, and I would LOVE to make her her sona as soon as I can. Her sona is Moon Heart, a pink and white puppy with a blue stripe down her back :D I am only planning on making her a partial- head, paws and tail as she is still growing. I will make sure to show her this video so she has some insight on wearing her very own suit one day! As her mother, I will very much make sure she is practicing fursuit safety. I'm 17 and I try to save money to buy a full fursuit but It's A little difficult because is a lot of money but I know that I count with the support of my mom. Great video. I have seen other fursuiters talk about young furs, but never seen someone involve a young fur in an interview kind of way. So that was a great addition as it added a different view on things as well as credibility.

I have a question, I'm 13 (14 in just 2 weeks), should I go ahead and commission a fullsuit? I am around 5'4, and only SLIGHTLY taller than my mom. Like, maybe a centimeter or two. I had a major growth spurt in the beginning of the year and it seems to have slowed down since I slightly passed my mom. I am nowhere near my dad, who is maybe 5'8 or 5'9 or something. But since I'm slightly taller than my mom and much shorter than my dad, do you think I might be almost my adult height, and therefore, unable to grow out of a fullsuit? (By the way, I looked up the average age for girls to reach their adult height, most said 14-16. So I might just be that. But I want to make sure and to hear your opinions on it.)
+Cosmic•Kenni Well it's entirely up to you. Genetics are pretty hard to guarantee everything. It's just a risk you take if you decide to get a full suit. Hehe I'm not much help but I hope whatever you decide I hope it works out and you have a lot of fun ^^
I got into the fandom when i was 13,(Im 14 now) and my Mom actually helped me make my first full fursuit! It was alot of work but I'm really proud of it, and now I'm going to be making a new one, with more experience it will be better than the last! And I'm so happy to be in this community with such wonderful people.
I'm 15, and I understand that I shouldn't get a fullsuit, or even a partial without getting a job. I think it's kinda weird seeing 12 y/o in the fandom.
I don't think this would count as a job, but I drag race, and if I win the prize money is $200 and I get half of that, but my dad owns a tire store/ mechanic shop and I plan on working there until I can open my own racecar/ chassis building shop.
you can start at the age of 6 in a jr.dragster, they usually run off of highly modified briggs and Stratton or Honda engines that you see on mini bikes or go karts that class is called the beginners class, the class I'm in is the fastest of jr.dragsters, it has a custom built 50hp alcohol burning racing engine that was designed similar to the briggs and Stratton, my car goes 86 mph in the 1/8th of a mile, or from 0-85 in 7.90 seconds or less. but there are faster ones than mine, some run off motorcycle engines, there called jr.comp or my new car, called an "outlaw" car which only travel 1/16th of a mile or 330ft but can hit speeds of 100 mph or faster(there isn't a lmit just fastest you can go" my new car is sponsored by an engine builder and he plans on having me set the world record, actually completely shattering it and leave my record unbeatable for years, he wants us to go 120mph, let me put it to you this way, I'm at a stop, the three yellow lights flash, I punch it, and 3 seconds later the race is over, and I'm going 100mph coasting down the track or slamming on the brakes(I don't know what I'm supposed to do never driven that type of car)

I think it is amazing that there are kids out there with a fur suit. I am sure it helps boost self confidence and esteem which comes in handy in other parts of life. Anyway I am happy for Midnight and help she continues to have a fun, safe time.

Yay! Finally I found someone who doesn't discourage younger furries. I'm 14 and I'm planning on making a fursuit sometime soon. It's nice to know there are other young furs with suits out there :) Also I had this idea for fursuit badges, so instead of just having your character and their name it also sais if you're a silent fursuiter or kid fursuiter. +mercedes walt They are what we call 'follow me eye's' They use an optical illusion technique that makes it look like they follow you around. And the vision varies from suit to suit. Some you have to pick one eye to primarily look out of. Others have a tunnel vision like effect.
+8-bit Soul You can do whatever you like. You can attend local meets and conventions without a suit. If you just enjoy the culture then that's all you really need.

I'm very new to the fandom and I'm just trying to find a maker who would make a deer.. most make dogs, foxes, cats and wolves.. maybe dragons. But I'm having a hard time with finding people who would make one like that.. And being in the states it's hard to just.. jump into it. I do some roleplay but.. I'm just kind of lost on what to do
+Alice Fry There are some deer suits out there. They aren't common so you'd have to ask makers if they would take on a deer commission. And fursuiting is pretty big in the United states. Just look up some conventions.

I am also a young fur. close to turning 13 (yes I'm the same age as Midnight) I am getting a full fursuit and I am already preparing for the hate and the growing. I am actually pretty close to being done with growing which is a good thing of course. My parents are not furries and my mom is a little weirded out by it but they love how unique I am and how happy I am in the furry fandom. I can really relate to Midnight with quite a few things and I really hope I can meet her and become friends with her some day XP
I think every group like this needs a large young audience. For example, soccer/football is the biggest sport in the world, if all of the sudden there were little to no kids playing soccer it would slowly die out as there would be not nearly as many new members.

+CrazyDude I have a plan to do a video about that sometime soon. But I would suggest just trying to find an animal (or mix of animals) you can relate to for whatever reason. Their characteristics or anything. If it has meaning to you, you will be a lot more attached to the character. I've always had an affiliation for foxes so I made a fox :)

+sly bunny You can check out your local fabric shops or online fabric shops. The cheapest fur you can find is toy fur but you do get what you pay for. But it could be a great place to start :)
It's pretty cool she has a fur-suit maker in her family! I've always wondered about making my own fur-suit, but none of my parents have any experience making anything, let alone those complicated heads. Probably just make a tail to start and see how I like it.

Omg she's so adorable and innocent! I brought my little soon to be 8 year old brother into the fandom recently. He really looks up to me and wants to be a fur like me. He even has is own fursona, Star the manokit! This does give me a better view on younger furs and how we need to show them better examples of the fandom. See, a large problem with younger furs is art theft, in which they don't quite understand yet. I think more recourses to exaplin what it is could potentionally help future generations of furs.
+Roxanne the dragon I think that young furs stealing art without actually knowing that it's bad and wrong is a big issue. I know younger people like to emulate their favourite things so while to them it's just an innocent sign of appreciation it's a really bad thing to do. So definitely some awareness with that issue would be fantastic. I hope you both enjoy the fandom and have a lot if fun :)

Hi Faux, thanks for this video, I just came out to my parents almost 2 months ago now and it's got steadily worse as times went on, they absolutely hate that I'm in the Fandom because they've got preconceived notions that the only reason people dress up in these costumes is because of sex, I'm trying to show them that Furries are people and having sex is a normal thing for people to want to do and that for the most part we're not actively looking for sex, I'd love to show them this video but I tried showing them Aberguine's video on the CSI Episode and they barely made it 30 seconds into the video before they told me to turn it off, any suggestions on what I can do?

Lately I have been spending more time trying to become a self thought artist and doing my best.
This was a great video! My daughter is 11 and really wants me to make her a fursuit. I have one of my own; Karaoke Kitten, and I would LOVE to make her her sona as soon as I can. Her sona is Moon Heart, a pink and white puppy with a blue stripe down her back :D I am only planning on making her a partial- head, paws and tail as she is still growing. I will make sure to show her this video so she has some insight on wearing her very own suit one day! As her mother, I will very much make sure she is practicing fursuit safety. I have a question,
I'm 13 (14 in just 2 weeks), should I go ahead and commission a fullsuit?
I am around 5'4, and only SLIGHTLY taller than my mom. Like, maybe a centimeter or two. I had a major growth spurt in the beginning of the year and it seems to have slowed down since I slightly passed my mom. I am nowhere near my dad, who is maybe 5'8 or 5'9 or something.
But since I'm slightly taller than my mom and much shorter than my dad, do you think I might be almost my adult height, and therefore, unable to grow out of a fullsuit?
(By the way, I looked up the average age for girls to reach their adult height, most said 14-16. So I might just be that. But I want to make sure and to hear your opinions on it.)
+Cosmic•Kenni Well it's entirely up to you. Genetics are pretty hard to guarantee everything. It's just a risk you take if you decide to get a full suit. Hehe I'm not much help but I hope whatever you decide I hope it works out and you have a lot of fun ^^

I got into the fandom when i was 13,(Im 14 now) and my Mom actually helped me make my first full fursuit! It was alot of work but I'm really proud of it, and now I'm going to be making a new one, with more experience it will be better than the last! I'm 15, and I understand that I shouldn't get a fullsuit, or even a partial without getting a job. I think it's kinda weird seeing 12 y/o in the fandom.
I don't think this would count as a job, but I drag race, and if I win the prize money is $200 and I get half of that, but my dad owns a tire store/ mechanic shop and I plan on working there until I can open my own racecar/ chassis building shop.

you can start at the age of 6 in a jr.dragster, they usually run off of highly modified briggs and Stratton or Honda engines that you see on mini bikes or go karts that class is called the beginners class, the class I'm in is the fastest of jr.dragsters, it has a custom built 50hp alcohol burning racing engine that was designed similar to the briggs and Stratton, my car goes 86 mph in the 1/8th of a mile, or from 0-85 in 7.90 seconds or less. but there are faster ones than mine, some run off motorcycle engines, there called jr.comp or my new car, called an "outlaw" car which only travel 1/16th of a mile or 330ft but can hit speeds of 100 mph or faster(there isn't a lmit just fastest you can go" my new car is sponsored by an engine builder and he plans on having me set the world record, actually completely shattering it and leave my record unbeatable for years, he wants us to go 120mph, let me put it to you this way, I'm at a stop, the three yellow lights flash, I punch it, and 3 seconds later the race is over, and I'm going 100mph coasting down the track or slamming on the brakes(I don't know what I'm supposed to do never driven that type of car)

I think it is amazing that there are kids out there with a fur suit. I am sure it helps boost self confidence and esteem which comes in handy in other parts of life. Anyway I am happy for Midnight and help she continues to have a fun, safe time.

I just thought it would be a good Idea.

+mercedes walt They are what we call 'follow me eye's' They use an optical illusion technique that makes it look like they follow you around. And the vision varies from suit to suit. Some you have to pick one eye to primarily look out of. Others have a tunnel vision like effect.

I'm very new to the fandom and I'm just trying to find a maker who would make a deer.. most make dogs, foxes, cats and wolves.. maybe dragons. But I'm having a hard time with finding people who would make one like that.. And being in the states it's hard to just.. jump into it. I do some roleplay but.. I'm just kind of lost on what to do
+Alice Fry There are some deer suits out there. They aren't common so you'd have to ask makers if they would take on a deer commission. And fursuiting is pretty big in the United states. Just look up some conventions.

I am also a young fur. close to turning 13 (yes I'm the same age as Midnight) I am getting a full fursuit and I am already preparing for the hate and the growing. I am actually pretty close to being done with growing which is a good thing of course. My parents are not furries and my mom is a little weirded out by it but they love how unique I am and how happy I am in the furry fandom. I can really relate to Midnight with quite a few things and I really hope I can meet her and become friends with her some day XP

I think every group like this needs a large young audience. For example, soccer/football is the biggest sport in the world, if all of the sudden there were little to no kids playing soccer it would slowly die out as there would be not nearly as many new members.

Their characteristics or anything. If it has meaning to you, you will be a lot more attached to the character. I've always had an affiliation for foxes so I made a fox :)

+sly bunny You can check out your local fabric shops or online fabric shops. The cheapest fur you can find is toy fur but you do get what you pay for. But it could be a great place to start :)

It's pretty cool she has a fur-suit maker in her family! I've always wondered about making my own fur-suit, but none of my parents have any experience making anything, let alone those complicated heads. Probably just make a tail to start and see how I like it.

I recently just join the fandom and I really like it, I mean I knew about the furry fandom for a long time but I just never decided to join until recently
I don't even know if my parents know this fandom exists! That's kind of a good thing cause if they don't, then they won't think bad about it if I ever tell them.
Omg she's so adorable and innocent! I brought my little soon to be 8 year old brother into the fandom recently. He really looks up to me and wants to be a fur like me. He even has is own fursona, Star the manokit! This does give me a better view on younger furs and how we need to show them better examples of the fandom. See, a large problem with younger furs is art theft, in which they don't quite understand yet. I think more recourses to exaplin what it is could potentionally help future generations of furs.
+Roxanne the dragon I think that young furs stealing art without actually knowing that it's bad and wrong is a big issue. I know younger people like to emulate their favourite things so while to them it's just an innocent sign of appreciation it's a really bad thing to do. So definitely some awareness with that issue would be fantastic.

Hi Faux, thanks for this video, I just came out to my parents almost 2 months ago now and it's got steadily worse as times went on, they absolutely hate that I'm in the Fandom because they've got preconceived notions that the only reason people dress up in these costumes is because of sex, I'm trying to show them that Furries are people and having sex is a normal thing for people to want to do and that for the most part we're not actively looking for sex, I'd love to show them this video but I tried showing them Aberguine's video on the CSI Episode and they barely made it 30 seconds into the video before they told me to turn it off, any suggestions on what I can do?
