We fostered a pair of brothers that came from a house of alcoholism and neglect. What was odd to my husband and I was that they were super entitled and materialistic. I was thinking, they came from nothing, why are they so entitled? Turns out that's the way their bio mom showed them "love". She would get drunk, leave them to fend for themselves, and then buy them a bunch of stuff to cover her guilt. Christmas was insane!! Each of them got a present from us, a present from our parents, and then a present from Santa. Later two GIANT boxes came from their bio family. We didn't even know where we were going to put everything. Even kids that come from poverty and trauma can feel like they're entitled to whatever they want. This lady is playing a very dangerous game!!! And there's 12 of them!! 🤯

I live in a community with a very high percentage of drug addiction compared to the average statistics (one of the highest percentages in the entire country) and we foster too. The kids here, generally speaking, are the most spoiled and entitled children I've ever seen in my life. They are all given endless gifts for no reason (our drug problem is horrendous but, unlike other areas and people who struggle with addiction, the economic privileges here are astounding. I won't say what or how because there's already negative stereotypes for communitues like ours but sadly many are actually based on truth) Anyway the money is endless, as is the addiction and it has created yet another generation of children who receive trauma but also financial gain in equal amounts. The kids are given anything they want, they eat fast food every day (multiple times a day) diabetes is the norm here, as are many other health issues, the school struggles with numerous behavioral and health issues from the majority of students and also arr overstretched trying to cope with the many emotional issues the kids bring. We have had years and I do mean years working on kids to understand appreciation and that love isn't a price, manners are important, relationships and connections matter etc. Everything here is based on money mixed in with trauma and I often feel hopeless for them because this is now the second generation that's been this way. There is such dysfunction and honestly these videos of the Doughertys are nothing compared to how it is where we live; this kind of shopping and parenting is the norm where I live. It's terrifying to witness the lives some kids live and what they now consider normal and what love and family is.

@@wayasaunooke3424don’t put blame on the kids, though? There is a way to heal trauma, including generational. Blame our government, systems and capitalistic culture that pushes this shit. Now my kids have voted that whatever we would spend on Christmas and birthdays we will just put towards a family vacation until we have enough because like he said memories are more important than “stuff”

Even if we had the funds she taught us that so when they didn’t have money we would always expect the same “gifts”. It def created great and equal expectations. Going to be sad when they get cancelled and these kids gets nothing. They def aren’t being raised to have good expectations for friends or significant others for gifts

The father's gift didnot even fully opened and obviously no hug, no thanks. I feel bad for the biological father. Second is all of those gifts! I know some parents just want to spoil their kids, I means there are parents like this, but she didnot do this with every kids. And they didnot even fake being grateful. Also the way they go through the clothings are so annoying. And many people talk about they didnot appreciate these gifts and didnot say thank you, I mean yes, they are 100% no manners, but I do think she deserves it. Kids often reflect parents. They will not be able to keep up with this lifestyle as adults unless they continue to depend on her. Also, kids don't need that much stuff. Not to mention all of the microplastics that all of this crap creates. I'd rather she have a few things she loves rather than a bunch of things that she may play with once and then bury in a toy box. The fact that the twins bio family came over and she "flexed" her cash probably made them and the twins feel bad. The kids probably feel a bit guilty getting so much when their bio family obviously doesn't have that kind of money. Also ANY present the bio family bought would be nothing compared to what Aisha splurged on. Bodie got crap because he's her bio kid and she doesn't have to show off to another family. Her splurge was 20 pounds of cold pasta and a playroom makeover (not his bedroom but a shared space) that she couldn't be bothered to do.She tried to make herself feel better by saying Bodie would be too overwhelmed(she didn't care about him being over whelmed at her alcoholic party when he was under the table).

At only 18 I ruined my credit and was not knowledgeable when it came to savings and how to appropriately spend my income. I am older now and have finally gotten a grip on myself and my finances but it shouldn’t have taken to the point where it was already to late. It saddens me that her children will have to experience that hard lessen I learned and fall 10x harder because they are getting 10x more than I ever got. She needs to understand money doesn’t buy happiness but it can buy her children stability, education, and it can give her children the mental health care they deserve after suffering through turmoil in their early childhoods.

We follow the " something you want, something you need, something to play, and something to read". It has been so fun for the kids to think about those categories and send us their lists. And for the last 5 years, we started getting 4 "Santa to a Senior" ornaments off our gift tree at my office, and we use their play category, and they purchase a gift for someone else. They really love doing this as well. And it breaks our hearts sometimes in the things our seniors ask for (tape, stamps, warm pajamas, house shoes, blankets, sheets, and lots of candy)

I saw the video of the twins opening their presents and holy cow was it disturbing. One was slow and opened his presents at normal speed and looked at everything while the other one ripped through everything and a few times literally tossed aside some things to look for the next present to tear into. Even before finding your channel and realizing what I had been watching was actually wrong on so many levels, that video had me side eyeing her parenting and over gifting these kids. Because my first thought was "man that kid is ungrateful, if I got all this for a birthday I would be in tears and so thankful for everything. But I also didn't get bulldozed with gifts and when I got the things I asked for my appreciation was through the roof. There's even some things I was scared to use or rarely used because I didn't want anything to happen to it. Like jewelry, I am so appreciative for receiving it I never wear outside of special occasions because I want it to last forever.

She definitely plays to the haters! She knows how she's snarked on and laughs in their faces! At the expense OF HER OWN KIDS!! THE HOUSE OF CARDS WILL SOON FALL!!

    • @Holly-ys1me
      @Holly-ys1me ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yep. As soon as the health department finds out about the broken septic system the LushA complains about in all of her videos then her house of cards is going to fall.
She use the broken septic system as the excuse for buying all the disposable plates and silverware. She goes to the laundry mat because of her broken septic system.
Broken septic system means that those children cannot shower or use the toilets. Dishes cannot be safely wash. Laundry cannot be done at home. The yard has to be filling up with waste and the children play in that.
She is wasting all that money and she is not getting her septic system replaced or repaired. She also has the option of paying to connect to city sewer hookup which runs into the thousands.
A normal person would be pinching pennies and getting a loan to fix the septic.
Without getting the septic fixed then the health department can go through the process to evict the family which would make them homeless. If she cared for her children she would be cutting spending to save money for the septic system.

When she no longer makes money off youtube, she will be kicking herself for spending so much money on nothing & not saving. She's not teaching her kids how to budget, save & to be responsible adults.

From the beginning I liked her. However, I found her videos to be disturbing. This video of her shopping spree for the twins was the last straw.
I’m a African American woman, and watching her buy all this stuff and leave the other child out was shameful. I think she did this because someone made the comment that the twins looked sad.
I watched your story and you rock. Keep up the good work.
And call out those nasty men for posting about the oldest girl, because Elisha is not going to do anything about it

Lego is a rip! Those car ones are like 80NZD and jordan hoodies are $100 to $200 (i cant find the exact one) the jordan pants are $60 to $120. The shirts and singlets are $25 to $100. Jordan socks $35. Jordan hat $40 to $60. Im a little OTT on presents for my nieces and nephews (i got my 2 year old niece 10k white gold and diamond stud earrings but thats something special she can keep for life and not a dumb toy that will break lmao) but I would NEVER spend that much on an outfit for a CHILD! A) They wreck their clothes haha and B) They grow out of that shit so fast its such a waste of money! You could literally buy a whole family an entire wardrobe from Kmart! Clothes are not special and so do not last for children!
ALSO are they seriously going to have 14 TVs in the house!? Where will they put them all!?
I think shes going OTT because people accuse her of treating the twins especially worse than her bio kids so shes proving a point!?

@@Kirsten_is_cursed10 lol they will be her special earrings and probs live in her parents safe but at least its something she can keep forever and pass to her daughters, grandchildren or niece lol or even sell when shes older if she falls on hard times! We do silver bullion coins for my nephew, although he doesnt get the chest til hes 21 and for special bdays we get a gold bullion coin. A different kind of savings or heirloom pieces for them.... better than toys that break or money that they will spend on crap (in our opinion of course 😊) They get toys from the rest of the family so we would rather get stuff like this... kind of our family thing! I have jewelry from my nana, parents and aunts and uncles that I got when I was a kid and as inheritance that I too will pass down 😊😊 I have a yellow gold ruby ring from 1940 passed down to me from my Nana thats super special and just lives in my safe because Ive almost lost it 3 times 😅😅😅 We arent a rich family by any means, its just the traditions that have come down! When I was living on $20 a week after rent alone and living on food bank food I had to part with a couple of pieces but it kept the power on, so if hard times fall on them and they have no way to keep their power on they too will have a security blanket 😊🥰

I can agree with you on the raising children who have no idea of the value of things. I was incredibly spoiled growing up, and it turned into a very codependent financial relationship between me and my father. It has been tough for me navigating and becoming my own self and making money for myself without spending it irresponsibly. Edit. Don’t get me wrong, I love my dad with everything in me and I appreciate everything he did for me as a single father. I don’t think either of us realized the consequences until it was to late.

But what happens to these kids when eventually this social media family blogging stuff all bottoms out and all the money and write offs come to a screaming stop? Or when they move out and can’t function as regular adults? It’s scary that she’s not setting them up for that inevitable future, when she has the financial capability to do more than prepare them for that right now. She’s failing them in every possible way.
