"It's bloody good, because they always chase me" My training day is nowhere near as busy as his, so I can imagine him being sweaty all the time. The work these guys put into the sport!
i really like these training blogs specialized is doing there! I hope they will keep that good work up and continue with showing more athletes' training to wide public!
i've watched this, along with the other specialized triathlon athlete videos, so many times as well, and ive nvr even done a triathlon, altho i must say this gets me extremely excited to do one
I'm a downhiller and only clicked this link after watching Sam Hill's segment, but I think this one is my favourite. It's great to see how calculated and intense this fella goes. Really inspiring.
Great to see Tim in action. Train with him occasionally at Team MK. Top bloke. Modest, helpful, interested in other athletes. Good luck, buddy - you're going 'dirty fast' this year.
Tim - great review as always and it's nice to see you put in perspective the amount of hard work that goes into being a world class athlete. Good luck for all future races! PS: Love the oversize treadmill that us common folk are used to.
This is one of the predicaments that we at the top in our various fields face. In my own endeavours I have come to see that their were daily detracting habits that I took for granted but which limited my performance. I'm a double digit daily return trader in Fx and other accounts and with input from other elite traders I have a better handle on what may be limiting practices. At this level we look not at what is gained but what is lost.
@timmothey I agree this is awesome! so good to get an insight into training without the 9-5 to work around! Javi was saying on twitter last week that he had the specialized crew following him for a couple of days so I think its safe to expect more to come!
i am not a experienced runner, but i got a lot of help from a nice doctor i knew even since he was just a boy- the thing i learned first was to run easy and have my shoulders down, not as high and up-pressed like it looks here....
@timmothey Agreed! Videos of triathlete training regimens are some of my favorite videos. It's so fascinating to hear the athletes speak so analytically about their sport.
@RustyR I never heard that term before but I something that I do when I ride my bike which I believe is what he is talking about when he says this, is that instead of being on a gear you're comfortable at when riding, push it up a gear or two more which makes it harder.
Best glasses to ride in if you can afford them. I know the price tags are usually steep but well worth it. Although all in all they make top of the range untouchable glasses. I have some for lifeguarding as well as triathlon work.
Caffeine (as in coffee) is a known performance enhancer. It reduces glycogen use during hard efforts. Since you have very limited amounts of glycogen in your body this is extremely beneficial. The IOC (Olympic committee) actually has a limit on how much you're allowed to drink during the Olympics. I think it's about seven cups a day. The best thing is that as a performance enhancer caffeine DOESN'T have diminishing effects even if you use it often
What kind of treadmill is that? Is there a term for it? How much would one cost? Looks awesome. Tim is an animal and a kool cat. I've watched this video many times and it makes me appreciate his work ethic and what triathletes go through even more than before!
Shit, he does a lot of intensity. I guess zone 1 days aren't very glamorous so no need to profile those. How many hours do top level triathletes train per year? I'm a full time xc skier and I'm aiming for 700 this season.
Specialized has such loud cassettes. Is it do to the prawls??. I always hear a cyclist when a Specialized bike passes me. Anyone know why their cassettes tend to be so loud??
This is the best video on TH-cam. I've watched it a million times.
Yeah Guy, the tom realy focused in Your everybory trainings

There should be a superextreme ironman tri where they set dogs loose on them during the run leg
i really like these training blogs specialized is doing there! I hope they will keep that good work up and continue with showing more athletes' training to wide public!

As an age group triathlete, I have nothing but admiration and respect, that's an amazing amount of hard work to put into training

Best glasses to ride in if you can afford them. I know the price tags are usually steep but well worth it. Although all in all they make top of the range untouchable glasses. I have some for lifeguarding as well as triathlon work.
