I used Ranmar this whole fight.I taught him Ruinous Tackle, Ruinous Strike, Thousand blades,and Calamity Slash. You have no idea how many Nergigantes I had to go through in order to make Ranmar powerful before this fight.
I just want to say, Huge respect for not spoiling the game while still being able to get across what boss you are talking about. Many people wouldn't even bother with spoilers, so I want to thank you for not doing that.

I was overleveled (level 48) and used Brute Tigrex to beat the final boss. Passed all random passive skills to Brute Tigrex to boost his non elemental attack and prepared around 100 lifepowder. All I did was to almost use lifepowder every turn while Kyle and Brute Tigrex defeat Oltura. Kyle lost one heart during the final phase and I just ride on Brute Tigrex to avoid the lethal damage.
I don't plan on playing MH Stories 2 but I love the artstyle. I would love to see a classic MonHun game with this cell shaded style. I hope Capcom tries it someday!

I’ve tried 30 times by myself because i waltzed through the entire game. I’m an adult actually crying over the frustration towards this. I know I have to probably grind a few levels, armor and weapons but I don’t want to waste 20hrs just so I can finish the game. I honestly think this is one of the most bs things that the mh series had ever implemented. I have used kindship boosts and everything!!
I think the the last bosses 3rd move where he can wipe everybody out is cheap but I enjoyed the rest of the game and it was my very 1st turn based JRPG
Yea basically a rip off Pokemon just more animation and trash battle settings monsters shouldn't be able to attack twice or spam the most op move they have repeatedly it's just an unfair advantage
For those that are still here, if you're monsties kinship attack can't target a specific part don't waste your time trying. You're better off training a new monstie that can target parts. Breaking the wings will be a nightmare.

Oh man, is it that annoying Qurupeco that calls in a Plum Daimyo Hermitaur? I HATE that fight. Just annoying one in the campaign for sure. That's the only other boss fight that took me 2 tries besides the last boss.

I’ve currently bought better gear and got the essences so i should hopefully beat it this time update: managed to defeat it but i’m now in the process of getting higher levels before continuing
There’s a mission called head to the light and it’s not letting me bring a buddy are you not aloud to bring a buddy for that mission if anyone knows please reply because I’m stuck on that part
I used the Kulu Ya Ku you get at the begining with a tank / support build + Agility genes for hight chance of avoid Oltura attack ( it worked, Kulu dodged the ultimate of Olutra lmao ), it worked well and i beated it in the first try !

I've been stuck on oltura for 5 days, I tried everything in this guide, I got to turn 97 with oltura on around a tenth of its HP on the last ray wing on the final phase. The battle took 3 hours. any information (such as how to get vital essence in large numbers) will help
If you can channel the monsties. Have each monsties have each attack type( power, speed and tech) that doesn't cost alot. This help you to have full control over them. Recommend farm gene from normal den
Tip,depending on which party member head to head him the party members he attacks is different.Ex if he attacks Kyle with head to head he will attack other party members
Meanwhile, me, who didn't need fancy buffs or ''optimized'' teams to first-try it and took the time to try out the 3 attack types on every body part just because it would look fancy on the boss page of the Monstropedia : ''Yeaaaah, those arguments are all very valid and interesting. One small flaw however : I didn't see you in time''
I really think the 3rd phase move is cheap lol I did beat it on my second try using vital essence but what a stupid part in my opinion… I did however enjoy the game a lot!
It's just the stupid Dragon bullet it takes me and my monster down to enough health that if it did it again I would lose a heart . And I end up wasting a turn healing just to lose all my health again
Yeah you gotta break at least one of the wings right away, which is why I recommend saving a full kinship gauge for one or two monsters before the third phase. Otherwise, you might need to level up your monsters some more or use stronger ones.

Twilight that sucks , surrogate gem ended up saving Kyle , and I ended beating it fourth try . If you have any of those , you may want to use them but I honestly don't have much more advice to offer . Of course you have to think but a lot of the fight is luck and you ending wasting all vital essences and ancient potions on an attempt that you fail anyway ( which is what I did my third try ) . I don't know if you are still stuck but if you are then best of luck to you .
The first thing that came to mind seeing this beauty is that this is what Xeno'Jiiva would look like in a Frontier game.... And that's aint a complaint.

They definitely cheaped out with this bossfight. May have been the worst designed bossfight in any Monster Hunter game. For fucks sake, they actually genuinely went with the end boss that has ridiculously many fases trope
This was probably the best fight in the game full stop! It forces you to plan your moves in advance... as well as actually use your entire monster roster if you want to have an easy time.
To be honest it was a little easy for me, prob cause I could have been over leveled by a bit but I wish it’s strong moves actually one shot instead of keeping you at one health cause you can basically spam dust of life or ancient potions because unlike the first game you can spam heal instead of having limited use per fight

Easy i use nergigante and use vital essence and just break is broken parts using powerful great sword and just double attack my nergigante has rock shield for shielding and rock throw that deals 300 damage and calmaty slash is 400 and my nergigante is has more defence when rock shield and use wide true slash using brimestone great sword so its dealth 700 or 800 wen battle oltura
I'll cancel one turn with head to head then he'll hit ratha twice with dragon bullet in the same turn multiple turns in a row so a guaranteed heart loss everyturn..the fuck is that?
This was total shit.. I went 45 turns on the first try with Ratha.. he went to his true form and kept charging the final attack.. then it told me to use a power move and I decimated through ashes..
This boss was a breeze lol went in at lv 40 and focused on healing and stat buffing with the Hunting horn. While my team dealt the damage. Easy stuff.👍😅
That’s what I did and basically what the strategy should be because it has some cheap moves… I beat it 2nd try and I really liked the game just that one move at the 3rd phase that wiped out everybody is cheap lol
sounds like a smart strategy people who think thats a bad playstykle probaly have no patience just saying its better to try to stay alive over attacking like some kind of brute

If you use it with Kyle at the same time you can break the parts, even if its an AOE kinship, just never use it alone

Nergigante and Stygian Zinogre definitely sounds way better than the Velocidrome and Blue Yian Kut-Ku that I brought to this party lol.

What level should my monsters be so they don't get one shot by the final boss?
My monsters were level 37-38 and the tanky ones were fine but Velocidrome was not. So it might be good to be above 40 to give you some extra leeway.
I don't want to try second time after losing in 47 turns, I even might throw the game to the tarsh.
