When Armin asked " in what way are you free?" He was purely asking if this rumbling was what freedom is for Eren since Eren kept saying he is free. Cause the irony is he isn't. He's trapped by the fact that he knows what's bound to happen. Like when he saw the kid being beaten up, he knew he would save him and at first he tried to ignore it as if to say he could change the future and yet he still saved the kid. Which made him say that he was just as half assed as Reiner due to his internal conflict

What a HELL of an episode. An hour of nothing but carnage and despair. This is the most anticipated and considered the best episode of AOT, according to the fans that is and ig we can vouch too. Aside from Hange's heart-shattering sacrifice and all, We now see Erens perversion for freedom at full display, which I think is somewhat overlooked. There's more to it than just expressing his immense guilt infront of the child(Ramzi), He poured out his bottled up emotions by admitting the fact that he did what he did because of an unfulfilled dream and disappointment.
Eren is, as Kenny would say, drunk on something, an idealistic freedom of a world beyond the walls that simply doesn't exist, Eren dreamed of an empty world without people, with rivers of lava, vast seas and deserts, a world to explore and discover, and instead there were people who had taken away his freedom. He internalized that idea of freedom based through the contents of Armins book, now that it doesn't exist, He initiated the rumbling primarily for the sake of that selfish desire. To him, It's far more important than saving the island, hence recontexualizing his speech that eradicating the world is merely a pretext. in short, he's just like a child throwing a tantrum because he couldn't grab what he wants despite the guilt and all. Eren is the personification of contradiction and irony, be it his actions, emotions, and the leitmotif encompassing his character. He's a god yet a devil, a victim and a perpetrator, Selfless for sacrificing his life for his loved ones yet Selfish for trampling on others lives for his desires, desires freedom yet a slave to his unfulfilled ideal freedom and nature, hes human and a monster.

Imagine if a race of outer space living humans descended upon earth right now and wanted to wipe us all out because of what our ancestors 6000 years ago did. There was hundreds of billions of humans outside of earth who DESPISED us. They cried tears of joy at the thought of killing us. They held a carnival about it.
Would you say we were children throwing TANTRUMS about fighting them back in order to survive? Would you say we should all lay down and die for them? If I had a means to fight back and wipe them all out in order to save earth, would I be “evil”? Some of the points I see about this show are utterly perplexing.
Utterly perplexing. So divorced from reality.
You fight to live and you fight to be free. That’s human nature. It’s not a tantrum.

The story of this anime is crazy. The writer literally created one of the best stories and pieces of art in tv/ anime history. I can not wait for the second part later this year. I think there’s a possibility that Eren wants them to stop him, if you remember at the start, he had a dream of the future, he was crying after seeing it. He then cried when in Marley after saving the kid, repeatedly apologising, I think he wants to be stopped but he also knows that this is how it plays out because he’s seen it happen in the future, he must be on this line, jumping between “I want to be saved” and “I need to bring ‘freedom’”

In regards to why Eren opposed Zeke's plan, besides Eren (and others) being fundamentally opposed to the idea of mass sterilization of Eldians, the main reasons why Eren didn't accept Zeke's plan, both Zeke's fake one (the one the Eldian government was willing to accept) and real one, is that ensuring the safety of Elida in both plans (until technological advancement progressed enough to make Titan powers obsolete for the fake one ands/or until the last sterilized Eldians died of old age (i.e. Historia's children) for Zeke's real plan) would require the practice of maintaining The Founding Titan power and at least one of any of the other 8 Titan powers through the practice of feeding titan power holders to successors every 13 years (with Historia's royal-blooded children being required to at least always be waiting on standby to inherit a non-Founding Titan power), in order to maintain the power of The Rumbling as basically a fantasy-analogue nuclear deterrent threat. And Eren despised and considered that practice unconscionable, particularly since it literally depended on requiring a (relatively) small number people giving up their individual liberty/freedom (i.e. being forced to be hold a titan power and cut their lifespan to 13 years) to ensure the island of Eldia's safety.
And to be clear Armin and the main character Scouts also didn't like the essential requirements of either of Zeke's plans (in addition to not liking the idea of mass sterilization), but unlike Eren, if a diplomatic solution still hadn't been found before Eren's "term" was up, in order to ensure the island's safety, they would have grudgingly resigned themselves to Zeke's fake plan of using a small-scale rumbling (that would have just destroyed Marylean military targets) to establish its long-term threat as a nuclear deterrent analogue tool. Eren (and the Jaegerists) were the only ones who were willing to accept a total activation and usage of The Rumbling.

Idk how many people got this, but Eren is actually talking to Ramzi openly about his plan and crying because he saw him in a future memory and knew he would save him, ironically, killing him soon after. Mel's! Around 7:45!
The attack titan = shingeki no kyojin =進撃の巨人
「進撃」means advancing/charging in the context of a battle rather than attacking specifically, so the nuance is lost in the translation. There isn't much that the translators could've done unfortunately. The "Charging Titan" doesn't sound nearly as good as the "Attack Titan", and it doesn't have the broader meaning that the Japanese word does unfortunately
「の」 means of, 「巨人」 means titan
But attack is usually 「攻撃」 not 「進撃」 in Japan.
「攻撃」, 「進撃」 and 「巨人」 are Chinese characters and have meanings on their own.
「進」 means advance forward, go up, improve, etc.
    「攻」 means attack, learn
    「撃」 means beating, attacking
    「攻撃」 means attack.
In Japan the attack titan means kogeki no kyojin, means 「攻撃の巨人」
but the creator, Isayama, chose to name it shingeki no kyojin!
It is difficult to translate shingeki no kyojin to English.
The name of the Titan and the name of the show is:
The titan who attacks to advance forward.
That Is the more correct meaning.

He actually did it for his sickly concept of freedom that he always imagined outside the walls. And as he did not obtain it, he felt so much hate and resentment for humanity, which uses the declaration of war as an excuse to fulfill his fantasy of Armin's books, he became a fascist and work with the worst scum as Floch, he betrayed the Legion and his friends to fulfill his selfish desire, killing millions of innocent civilians.

No Armin wasn’t threatening Eren he was alluding to that Eren isn’t free as of this moment while doing the rumbling. He was gonna ask Eren “in what way are you free?” meaning he’s saying in some way Eren isn’t free he’s a slave. To what? That’s what we’re gonna find out but it’s probably like meaning to his own ambition and the weight of protecting everyone because he didn’t wanna commit genocide which they make very clear at the start of the episode. It hurts Eren and he wishes he didn’t have to do it but he doesn’t see another way and Eren is a slave to that because he’s doing something he feels like he HAS to do and has NO CHOICE which is the opposite of free. He’s trapped by the burden of wanting to protect his loved ones. They drive it home again by having Reiner say he thinks Eren WANTS them to stop him because he doesn’t wanna do this and wish he didn’t have to. Reiner said that, he said if it was up to him he’d wanna give the founder power to someone else and if he COULDNT he would wish someone would stop him. Then after that Eren brings them into that coordinate plane. After they talk with him he basically reinforces what Reiner says but does it in a way to make them think of him as an enemy because if they knew Reiner was right they might try to find another way because they feel bad that Eren wants them to kill him. So he did that to try to make sure they don’t second guess it and try to do anything else except kill him. Then after the talk Reiner even said that it looks like what he said about Eren was right. No I have not read the manga either.

Don’t forget that they only leave the outside ones alive to inherit the Titan powers so they can be in control of world power
Remember that Armins original plan was to use the partial rumbling to scare Marley for 50 years while the come up with a plan that most likely won’t exist. With Zeke’s plan in 50 years they will all be old people who can’t defend themselves since it’s the next generation that makes military might strong so when Marley comes that time what are they going to do with an entire civilization of old and weak people.
Eren most likely saw that future hence why this is the only option
