I’m just going to comment this because how proud of myself I am right now. I’m really into languages so when first saw one of your videos i wanted to guess what language you were speaking. I am I was so spot on. I first thought German maybe but the way you spoke was way calmer. So I settled for dutch. But dutch didn’t sound exactly right either. In the Netherlands we don't say ''shortje'' we just say ''korte broek'' (short pants) And a dress is a ''jurk'' . Yea I know It's an ugly word isn't it? And it's words like ''shortje'' and kleedje that are exactly the reason why I like the Belgian Dutch so much 👍 They come up with some really good words sometimes.
"Kleedje" (and similar forms like klaid, kleeke, kliedje etc.) is traditionally the word for "dress" in dialect of Zeeland, North Brabant, Limburg, de Achterhoek, Groningen and other areas in the north, east and south of the country of the Netherlands. "Jurk" was a local form in other parts of the country, acknowledged as the standardized form and therefore largely replaced the local form in areas where they used "kleedje". It's therefore not necessarily the Belgians who came up with it. I call those short pants "shorts". I don't use the diminutive "shortje". I barely use "korte broek", as "shorts" is shorter.

as much as i care you are a far better foreign language teacher than anyone i ever had in school. I can not comprehend how i still remember every word you taught in the dutch language in these videos than anything was told by my french teacher at school. Either dutch is far easier than french or my teacher really failed to get my attention as a teacher because i couldn't remember anything from her a couple of hours after the lesson was over....either way KUDOS NANOU
@@deathrowbbx I don't think most Dutch people will agree with you. French is difficult to learn for us. Your situation is different because you speak both languages. For Dutch people English is easier to learn, maybe even German is more similar to Dutch.

"Sierraden" is a much broader term. If you for example have a wooden bracelet, it's a "sierraad" but not a "juweel". A "juweel" is a "sierraad" made from expensive materials like gold or silver. Hope this helps you out.

Actually, turning on the Dutch subtitles was a really useful learning tool for me in this video. ASMR is slow enough that I had enough time to read and digest each sentence.

I anticipated myself falling asleep a bit earlier, but I found myself learning words for clothing in Dutch. Now I can find myself a nice "jas" if I ever visit the Netherlands.
I actually got some right at first try because they’re very similar to the words in Germany or more specifically an German accent that I speak since I’m a little girl, great video ❤️
Being afrikaans it's cool to see how much the languages are similar especially since there aren't many afrikaans asmr creators if any so it's cool to hear a language i can kinda understand in asmr that's similar to afrikaans. I've seen that dutch from southern holland and rotterdam is closer to afrikaans than dutch spoken in amsterdam. But honestly i thought you were speaking flemish before because it's even closer to afrikaans. You being from belgium and all. Some words were exactly the same but some not, like shorts we call kort broek and a dress is also called a Rok, jacket we also call jas but we have a synonym that is more frequently used "baadjie" which also works for jackets but is actually supposed to refer to a blazer specifically but it's used as slang for jacket instead of jas. Then instead of sokken we say kous or kouse(plural) or kousies for diminutive but we also say sokkies as diminutive and sokkie is a dans we do and the name comes from dancing close in a wooden floor hall on your soks hence sokkie. But now we dance in shoes tho. Shoes we call skoene, hakken we just call hakke or hoë hakke (high heels). We also can say ondergoed but mostly use onderklere or specifically call it a onderbroek (menswear and womens bottoms) and just bra for well bra. Juwelen is just juwele. We also say keting but that's usually used for mens chains, womens necklace is called a hanger more often a hangertjie. But both are interchangeable we just tend to call the bulkier ones keting because chain is also called keting and hangertjie sounds more soft and elegant like a thin pretty necklace. As a russian I so love dutch because of Rrrrr you can say (just as we). In 90's I and my friends talking with guys from Sweden and from Holland. And as a joke we talk "ArrLight" instead of "AllRight". So funny that Sweden peoples was unable to repeat this. Transition from R to L in "ArrLight" was impossible to them. And Hollanders easy repeated after us "ArrLight" without any problems =)
