@@IbandUK I use bandlab for my cover , and im still struggling to find the right composition to create that pro studio like sound, and I dont have any academic sound engineering background really and your video helps big time. Anyway quick question if u dont mind, can u make a video on how to make a harmonisation using just 1 vocal line? Thanks sir
Marvin Jonathan I shall be uploading plenty more tutorials to help musicians tune their recording techniques, so I will look into doing a harmonisation video
@@IbandUK the most trouble I have is the vocals. Either they sound blan, or they sound too fuzzy, which causes tons of feedback. The preset FX are cool, I find myself continuing to search for that clean, crisp, slightly reverby. I've been working with layering the intros and chorus with atleast 3 different octives and the main vocal I copy and paste into another Chanel, then set one of them back about 30 ms and the nisaligning seems to give me an echo I can't figure out in the fx settings.
Cote Doug Vocals sounding too bland or fuzzy is most commonly caused by the frequency response pattern of the microphone, you may need to upgrade your mic. The vocal recording should be clean and crisp straight from the microphone. Have you tried standing closer or further away from the microphone when recording (every microphone has it's sweet spot)? or even singing under a duvet (a sort of diy sound booth). if you move a duplicate vocal track 30ms behind the main vocal track you will have created a good old 70s style analog tape echo track (of 30ms). try using 20ms or less and/or reducing the volume of the duplicate track (so it sounds more like a 70s style analog reverb instead of an echo). You could also us the Graphics EQ on the duplicate to remove some of the high or low frequencies.
Mark joseph Olavides Hi, the point here is to not just duplicate the track but move it slightly behind the original track and lower its volume (or gain) so it gives the effect of a 1970s style analog reverb/echo that can't be recreated with bandlab's digital FX
@jodywhite.songs.8746 Distortion and crackles are usually one of two things... The vocals are too loud when recorded. So try moving a bit further away from the microphone or turn down the gain input (if there is one). Check out my video... th-cam.com/video/cKLhlKmwsfU/w-d-xo.html Or... The track output level is too loud. So try adding a Compressor, like Digi Comp, to the fx preset or turn down the track volume (on the track header on the mixer settings screen).

Works on acoustic guitar recordings. Electric guitar and Midi guitar sounds work better with the Spring or Studio Reverb FX
