Small point about familiars. Ive taken some mixed rallies from maxed accounts with 22-27m troops. The stacking fams do start to proc unfortunately lol. And even the shield fam procs saving huuuuge amounts of troops.
Good point, the lower the troop comp, the better it is to have stacking familiar - it really is depending on the account and also what is coming at you
do you think having the 5% hp and atk familiars would give better results in the same rally?
@@JohnControl i doubt it. The 60% hp attk boost the front hp. And the regular stackers add decent chunk.
I have f2p wall - snowbeast magus tricksar bee (not maxed) and they all proc in range phal vs mix in 24m comp
@@evgiz0r I’m also thinking defending mostly in range. Currently building a trap as well, working towards -40% inf, Magnus, Mole shaman and Bon appetti. My theory is that if I make inf my largest squad, they’ll be hit by enemy familiar and make mole shaman proc - while the others will proc anyways
@@JohnControl I'm skeptical that using a 60/60 solely for familiar damage is a great idea on a typical comp. A lot of the familiar damage in a typical defense comes from the 150% hits throughout the battle, so the proc may be too late to provide very useful stats (only reducing some of the familiar damage for the last hits and boosting your inf ATK after the rally has taken a lot of damage already). There could be ways to make it work such as defending with a very small comp, or maybe making your inf damage compact in a high t5/4 inf count and running t1 instead of t2 inf to inflate the absolute # of troops lost (plausible but not recommending this; I haven't tried it).
Imo a frontline (i.e., ranged or inf) shield familiar if available is the best use of a slot for whatever formation you are sitting in before a rally walks/while offline. It isn't useful for a typical comp countering a rally, but it is great for other situations depending on the size of the troop type (unless you're running a frontline so large that full counters don't kill 12% of it but most single-rally-comp defenders are losing more than enough to both proc and get the full protection in this case and often even for same-on-same or mixed). The strength of the familiar in stopping damage grows with the frontline troop count as well (7% protection reduces their damage by about 700k per 10m troops of the shield type), but the useful situations tend more toward full counters only at the same time. Lately with a lot of fury rallies at larger targets being mixed, throwing a few million (maybe 15% of the frontline) t1 on a larger phalanx frontline can make stronger mixed rallies noodle with shield familiar also (I've made high artifacts max tempered 7+ champ mixes do almost full t1 damage this way a few times) although it could have situational downsides too.

I just wanted to add, that if you have boomeister gold, please dont put him on your wall. Yes, he gives you all army stats, but its all passive!
