This video was absolutely everything I was looking for. You have an incredible voice for informational videos! Thank you so much! Not quite sure on which one I’m going with yet but I’m excited to choose
Great review - gives me a good idea of what I’ll go for next. I’m glad you omitted junk like the Breville Bambino. I went through three of them and each broke down for different reasons. That company is a nightmare to deal with.
How is the go with medium/light roasts ? I have a delongi ec685 for like 3years now and have decided to upgrade to the Profitec go. The ec685 is good for dark roasts, but completely useless for medium roast
I've had my eye on the Profitec Go for a while, was hoping this video would give me a cheaper alternative. Guess I'll have to stick with it though, it's really the best single boiler out there.
Gaggia E24 seems to be a viable alternative and 2x cheaper according to WLL price chart in video, and design is much more appealing to me. GO is nice machine per se, I just mean E24 offers better value.
I have the Solis, and there are several issues. Pressure. With the unpressurized portafilter, the pressure will go up to 15 bars !!! The OPV does not kick in to keep the pressure down. That is kinda high compared to the recommended 9 bars. As a result, your shot will pull faster. Grind coarser to lower the pressure, and the shot will pull even faster. Shots are programmed, by volume (single or double shot), not time. I have not figured out how to manually control the pull time. Only with the pressurized basket will the pressure drop down to about 7 bars. The next issue is that the group head is made of plastic. And the shower screen screw goes directly into the plastic, not into a metal insert. The issue that I have is wear. Removing the shower screen, to clean the screen, WILL wear the plastic. So I very infrequently remove the shower screen to clean it. The head only has ONE water hole. This results in a PIT in the puck below that hole. You have to make a mod to deflect the water so that it will not jet out.
Hey D, The newer GO is based on the design ogf the Casa V. Profitec and ECM are sister companies. The GO is a PID controlled machine so has more accurate temperature in the boiler. It also has a fast heat up function so is ready to brew after turn on a few minutes sooner than the Casa V. The Casa V does have a dedicated pump switch and the GO does not. Makes it a little easier to get hot water ouot of the machine to make an Americano or for other uses. Just openb the steam valve and turn the pump switch on. You can get hot water out of the GO by opening steam valve and turning on the brew switch. When you do that some water will drip from the group head. You can keep drips in check by placing a backflush (blind filter basket) disc in a spare portafilter and locking into group when taking water out of the steam wand. Hope that helps! Marc

I can’t imagine starting my day without a great cup of espresso!! Really enjoyed this video once again Buck❤! I went from a Breville DB to the Mac daddy ECM Synchronica so I really understand that this gear is addictive in general (in a good way haha!). So here we are two grinders (yep he’s right you “might” not need one now but I think eventually you will) and two DB machines for our properties. Lol Until then I guess it's not fully worth it to upgrade from my gaggia classic pro that I bought from you guys 2 years ago (although defective and not working unless send it for repair after the thermostat and so plugs burnt on me).
Profitec Move is arriving late in December - it’s currently setup to be a competitor to the Rancilio Silvia Pro X and Lelit Elizabeth. All of them have dual boilers
@@HeshamHafez00 I preordered the Move from these guys three weeks ago as soon as I found out. I was close to getting a heat exchange ECM E61, but a dual boiler addresses the temperature fluctuations of heatexchangers and Profitec/ECM released their fast heat up start time so the Move seems the best purchase for me.
Working on it. Very extensive with some novel in portafilter, within coffee puck brew temp measurements during actual espresso extraction! Vid should drop early next work week. Marc
What's the ONE machine that grinds beans, makes excellent tamped coffee in the holder, and then allows proper foaming of milk (not like Nespresso frothers).
Too much plastic and low quality materials. Makes a great espresso sure… but maybe look into “healthier options”. As in no plastic that ever touches hot water, no aluminum, no pfas coatings. Supposedly brass is pretty safe… not entirely sure about that, but I bet the pipes leading running water into my home contains brass so wtf am I gonna do. Wish more manufacturers used stainless steel as it’s supposedly the safest. Food for thought. Not an attack, sorry in advance if it came off like that eh.
@@btabbyy I own a $5000 profitec drive, And I also don’t want aluminium/plastics in my machine either, although even my machine has a Teflon steam wand so it’s cool touch. It’s pretty hard to avoid these days but I try and minimise it wherever possible. This is more if people are trying to buy a cheap machine, no one is going to pay over $1000. ? none of these machines cost $1k and there are many other machines well below $1k that are worth getting. Grinder matters more than the espresso machine....
Well, in my personal opinion Gaggia lost my trust due to the boiler issue. My 10 months old GCEvo is currently being investigated by local retailer because I found the coating debris coming from the steam wand. If I did not purchase a lot of GCEvo accessories I would go for Profitec.

This is not a review lol it's a presentation of the machines they sell. You will never see them give an honest opinion that would undermine their sales of a certain machine. This is a store with a successful youtube channel not a espresso machine review channel.
Seems a bit moot on a video about entry level machines... Also, doesn't really tell you anything about the machine itself, just about the grinder and how well the distribution was performed.
I own a gaggia classic and I just bought a ninja luxe cafe premier. Hands down the ninja beats the gaggia and I’m sure the rest of these. Reason? Zero learning curve. Dialing in is easy, milk frothing is automatic. The ninja beats em all for entry level.
