i think they did great! hell, i didnt touch a mortar tube til i put in almost 100 hours in logi/infantry. i kept feeling like i was taking away from someone who actually KNEW how to use the equipment. Imagine how dumb I felt when I finally did and realized how exceptionally easy it was to figure out. Good on them for trying something outside the normal 'IM A NEW GUY' stuff. Good on you for guiding them! also, great video, keep 'em coming!
Same! And yea I didn't get into anything like this until I was really far into the logi side of the game.
And same about taking away from someone who knew how to use it better. I still feel that way sometimes even after 1000 hours ha.

Agreed! I had some nice people teach me how to tank long time ago.
Last war when DV was under a heavy assault I ripped a cpl and no rank off the street and got them to do arty with me and suppress the bridge the collies were crossing. After our team growing from 3 people to 7, one field artillery to 3 guns, and hundreds of rounds being fired, the colonial threat didn’t exist much after that.
That is awesome! Well done. I always love when random people grab new players to go do a mission or do something really fun.
I've had that happen to me a few times and it is some of the most memorable gameplay I've had in the game so far.

@@RobertLovesGames it’s great to see when random people ask if they can help a group. At first it was just me, someone gunning and someone loading. Then someone just walked up and helped load shells. A bit later a couple more joined us and we got another gun as well. Then someone offered to bring shells over from Deadlands, and another joined us to open a third gun all while I spotted. It’s this willingness to interact with the rest of the community out of nowhere which is what I like so much about foxhole. This is a team based game and when others are so happy to help out wonders really happen.
I'm with these new players on the facilities. They suck and are unfair to new players and small clans.
I still cherish the memories of my first war, War 23 in Shard 2. I also wanted to do artillery but as a lone new player I figured I'd do mortars instead. But first I needed to learn how things worked so I did logi while I figured it out.
I went down to Loch Mor to help with the push and delivered Bmats to the recently liberated Moon's Copse. After chatting with the clan who had helped take it, they invited me to join them and I spent the rest of the war with one of the most friendly group of people around.
I told the commander that I wanted to do artillery and within a few days we did an artillery operation to drive the enemy out of the region. After a few days, we were bombarding the Foundry. It was a great war and I recommend all new players be communicative so you will experience the friendly community of Foxhole. Press T to talk. You will be asked to join on all kinds of missions. View officers as NPCs who hand out quests. We're eager to teach new players the ropes and involve them in advanced warfare.
That is such an awesome story and that clan sounds like a really good group of people!
This is something I always tell new players as well just talk to people in game and ask for help and 90% of the time someone is going to help you and answer any of your questions.

Sadly, that wonderful clan, LCHAD gradually disappeared after Shard 2 was closed. They returned when it was resurrected but are not inactive.
I had had to move onto a more active clan by War 92 but I have always worked to preserve the old Shard 2 clans whenever I can.
When Baker was re-opened, everyone's old clan tag was still there and I was an LCHADman again for a day before I had to return to lead my current regiment.

As a colonial, please keep shooting high HP entrenched positions! Definitely do not use your tactical mortar accuracy to hit situational targets that big arty often misses like ISG, MG, or strongpoints giving your infantry trouble. Please keep your mortarmen well separated when firing as well, as the shells only land as close together as where they were fired. In this video these newbs definitely spent more Emats than the enemy did Bmats, but definitely do not learn from this and take it forward. The wind is a crazy wildcard though, I'll give the baby-eater a break there
