      2-4% of the chess players are women! Men play 25-50 times More than ladies! We would have easily 50 women over 2600 if they play chess! Women do play classical violin music as much as men! The Sibelius Violin competition finals 19 men and 18 women!

    Pia is an inspiration to many people like me. Im 48, male and have learned chess without a teacher and basically on my own. Not strong but love to play. She shows that you can still be strong the older we get and love that she is still able to hang and play with these young top level players! She is amazing!

      Not sure what you mean. As there are currently 13 female chess players that are ranked higher than her according to FIDE. Yes, she has potential -- but many young chess players just don't make it or don't have lasting power. Time will tell.

    TBH... A world Women's No.1 from 80's playing against 22 y/o fresh, top of the game GM like Vaishali on a classical game itself sounds just too good.
    She is still preparing everyday and is even ready to take those risks and play bold in these endgames. It's just amazing to think about

    Yo I love you videos and I love you lovely family , you remind of how I see my parents . When we are kids growing up looking at them so perfectly imagining ourselves in the future to be as cool as they are and then see how difficult the world is , and it’s not just so simple . It’s okay to have some set backs in life that what teaches us lessons …..
    however I’m so happy to see your mom competing with this young folks for 4 hours and keeping up with me and make it even difficult for them to keeep it equal with her I bet that your so proud .     Anna, you are a great chess commentator! As much as I enjoy you illustrating chess matches, would it be possible to do one with your father? I'd love to see you work together. Perhaps you could be hosting it as you do, but with his input as well. I suspect many of us fans out here would really enjoy his opinions on a match. Of course, I'd also love to see a dual commentator session with your mother. They clearly both have chess in their souls and are a lovely couple who raised an amazing daughter! ❤❤❤

    There are several other sibling pairs who are both grandmasters. The Ramesbabus are the only pair that are brother-sister, though (Judit and Susan Polgar are sisters, as are the Kosintsevas and the Muzychuks, the other pairs are brothers). There are a number of other brother-sister pairs that have an IM and a GM, such as Jorge and Desi Cori, or Dan and Pia Cramling.

    Nice content Anna! People often say that a position is a draw because the engine says so. However the engine can see the continuation but we do not . So if you do not have the knowledge or are unable to find it, the position is not a draw.

    Your Mom is really good. The only reason she lost was not because she played quick but because she was under stress from the long playing times and that caused her to make the wrong move.
    It's a real shame. That woman is under rated for sure.

    I think Pia actually proved age is not an issue. Her competition is actively playing other high level players whereas Pia is only recently doing the same. Give her some more high level tournaments and she’ll rise to the top.
