This dinner was held while they were still in India iirc. And Vishy, Pragg, Vaishali and Gukesh are all from the same city, Chennai. Vidit would've to travel from a different part of the country just for the dinner so maybe that's why he's not here.
This was lovely. It's a joy getting to meet Koneru, too, whom we've seen in the women's elite for ages but only as pictures and names. She always looks so stern and intense in pictures of her playing, and is such a beast at the board, that I was a little surprised she seemed so warm and relaxed here. It's great hearing from the rest of you, too. We miss Vidit, ofc. He'll be at the next dinner tho, I'm sure.
