Moving the ball under my lead armpit has completely transformed my driving over the last 3-4 rounds….its unbelievable how straight I can get it now and the confidence is like I’ve never had…it’s become so good that the other aspects of my game have fallen off almost in protest hahaaa. Such is golf
Have been skying my driver either that or hitting low straight left whilst lining up in line and know I move forward in the swing.Last weekend I teed the ball up higher and stayed back swinging off the back foot which produced a week fade or slice just how you did with the ball foreward.After watching this I will pull the ball back and hope this stops me lunging and hitting down and popping the ball up to the sky.thanks for info.
Very useful and will also watch your how to draw video. Have played for over 62 years, am 83. Driving is generally the best part of my game but for sure one can slip almost unconsciously into making errors. One error I seem to have edged into is placing the ball too far forward. I don’t come outside in as you show, but if I also tilt my shoulders to the right a bit too much it leads to a high right push with fade that will at best put me in the right rough, and possibly in the trees or on occasion over the trees on to the adjacent fairway. Placing the ball as you show and not overly tilting the shoulders in order to hit up on the ball will correct it. One question. You place your driver at address just behind the ball. One instructor I respect, father of a woman long drive contestant, recommended placing the club head about 4 inches behind the ball for the logical reason that if you want the driver head to be ascending as it strikes the ball, then the low point of your swing must be a little behind the ball, so that is where you should place the club head at rest at address. I found this works for me. Would like to know what you think.
