The percussion instruments always reminded me of guillotine blades coming down and metal blades being sharpened. Very foreboding and dark! One of the most creative and creepy renditions of the Shadow Temple.
This is a very impressive remix of the Shadow Temple Theme. Original and clever. It genuinely gave me the chills, especially the voice in the background. Your work is very good! Keep up the excellent work!
This temple was nightmare fuel for me growing up. It was the second temple I went for and I cannot tell you how fast I ran back out of there. "Nope, nope, nope, nope, NOPE!" The creepy music, creepy structure, walls that aren't really there, hands coming up from the ground...you really did this one justice, I gotta say.
My brother and I (as children) were more like "S-WEET! This place RULES! It's got all these sweet skeletons and these badass D&D style traps! Bring it on!" We loved that creepy haunted castle aesthetic back then. I think the Forest Temple was our favorite though. :)
The shadow temple has always been my favorite temple out of all zelda games. Not sure why but there is something about illusions and hidden truths that always grab my attention.
Topics that Nintendo, unfortunely, never dared to touch again... like the Hyrulean Civil War. and more dark stuff like shadow temple. After Majora's mask, the rest went more childish..
I absolutely love this! This reminds me of the basement section of Skyward Sword's Ancient Cistern - almost like reimagining the Shadow Temple in that aesthetic. I'm so glad that I stumbled across your channel!
Darkness covers you in every corner The putrid smell of blood swarms your nose You hear something faint... A bongo... A bongo drumming... it's almost beckoning...like it's calling for someone...calling...for you... Chains are rattling... Scythes are slicing... The bongo beating faster... The dead are rising once again... Creatures observing you from the dark, studying you... The bongo beating faster... The ground looks deceptive... You feel things moving, but you do not see it... The bongo beating faster... The souls of the damned cry... They cry for more blood... More meat for the slaughter... Another soul to join their endless number... ... ... ... The Drumming stops... ... ... ... The ground stops shaking... ... ... ... You feel watched... ... ... ... It knows you are here... ... ... ... It's right in front of you...
I know what I`ll listen to as winter comes and the days grow dark, with only a candle to illuminate my room. I got goosebumps to this remix even in broad daylight. Delightfully creepy you might say!
Once again, this is fantastic. You especially nailed the percussion, it totally sounds like something you'd hear in Kondo's own dungeon music. This is what I'd imagine it would sound like if you were to revisit the same Shadow Temple in a new Zelda - or, how it *should* sound. You have a knack for that haha. On a side note, the 'logos' you make for these videos are awesome. I especially like the green one on your Zelda overworld medley, but there's something about the purple version that just screams creepiness.
This is actually a little more sinister than the original composition. Like someone had said, it brings up memories of the Ancient Cistern. I like this one, it's different but it still has that Ocarina of Time feeling to it. You did a nice job of picking out the instruments on this one.
Wow! That was really quite frightening, but an absolutely incredible remix Rebecca, I've been listening to a lot of Zelda remixes & so far this one is my absolute favourite :-). I've already subscribed to your channel. Thank you for making these awesome remixes Rebecca.
Hehe! I lot of people keep telling me how frightening this track is! I guess that throat singing really gets under people's skins! Thank you for subscribing. I'm glad you really like my music. :D
What makes this song so atmospheric is they put a lot of “F B” notes, the fading drums and metal clinging. But they shouldn’t be too spaced out and maybe the drums a little higher before they fade
I don't think it deviates from the original very much at all! I love it, mostly because it carries the feeling that Link is about to uncover the dark secret hidden there. Good work!
This is wonderful, just like all of your temple remixes. The Forest Temple remix is still my favorite but this one is also excellent. By the way, I just have to say. The deep note during the song, such as at 2:51 sounds kind of like those droid phones..."drooooid!!"
A haunted temple with a Buddhist twist? If you have never played it before, you should check out the Cambodia temple level in Eternal Darkness. It's really creepy, and this song seems like something that would fit it perfectly.
Thank you! Yeah, the other temple themes got some dislikes. But, so far, whenever someone tried to dislike this, a Wallmaster would come down and take them away.
Great remix, these sound makes me remind the Mining Melancholy from Donkey Kong Country 2 a little. Hey, it would be gorgeous a remix from you of this ost from DK :)
As a fellow DKC (especially 2) lover, I am pleased to hear this. I've been wrestling with the idea for a few years. Those are indeed some of my favorite soundtracks. I started a Stickerbrush Symphony remix with one of my brothers several years back. I'm not sure when we're going to finish it though.
This is what I would want to hear if the Shadow Temple reappeared in one of the more recent Zelda games. Seriously though, why hasn't Nintendo hired you yet?! Great job!
Yama, the Hindu god of death. Green-skinned, rides on a buffalo. An incarnation of Lord Shiva, the god of transformation. For a new thing to be born, an old thing needs to die, thence the importance of death. It's not something to fear. THIS SONG IS THOUGH. Holy shit, well done. :D
I see the theme of Arbiter's Grounds for a good suggestion. I question if that theme could be darker. I have amusement by this piece also. I thank ye for this. Keep up on good work, aye?
The one humanizing element to the older Zelda games. They admit Hyrule is not so peaceful as you were brought up to believe. I always imagined the smiling figure over the message saying "Here lies Hyrule's bloody history of greed and hatred" to be a demon. Possibly an incarnation of Bongo Bongo
+rogueshdw That's an interesting thought! I thought of it as a ghost. :3 Wouldn't it be amazing (and terrifying as hell) to be able to bring Wolf Link into the Shadow Temple and look around with his wolf senses?
+RebeccaETripp this is also me theorizing that if Nintendo made an M-rated Zelda game it would deal with the prehistory of Hyrule (ie. The war for the Sacred Realm) Twilight Princess nailed it with Lanayru's speech
+tahutoa I already did one! Here is a link: th-cam.com/video/ofM1PuyH8dA/w-d-xo.html I also did a Spirit Temple, and original in the same style to cover the Light Temple. ;) th-cam.com/video/fFGp4PNGDBk/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/MqVA91dUsjk/w-d-xo.html I hope you like them (if you end up listening to them all, anyway!)
RebeccaETripp I have, that's why I was wondering. I have them all downloaded now. Now that I listen to the Fire Temple song, I recognize it as the song used in that Unreal Engine 4 Death Mountain video.
I know it might be a bit of ask, but I’m just looking for a remix of the Shadow Temple to use in a ambience/ASMR video featuring the Shadow Temple, and was wondering I could use yours? Credit would be given.
@@RebeccaETripp It's basically an hour-long soundscape based on the Shadow Temple, with occasional sound effects like ReDeads, and a quiet music track in the background. I'm still not 100% sure on how I'm going to approach the idea, as I normally focus on relaxing soundscapes, and OoT's Shadow Temple is anything but relaxing.
And that officially may be the most terrifiying zelda location i have ever thought of. Toss a bit of majoras mask and twilight princess in there and then youve got something no one would want to watch or play through

"The Shadow Temple, Here lies Hyrule's bloody history of greed and hatred" this track is awesome though. I used to dread the Shadow Temple.
The percussion instruments always reminded me of guillotine blades coming down and metal blades being sharpened. Very foreboding and dark! One of the most creative and creepy renditions of the Shadow Temple.
Senpai noticed!! :D
This is a very impressive remix of the Shadow Temple Theme. Original and clever. It genuinely gave me the chills, especially the voice in the background. Your work is very good! Keep up the excellent work!
+Livi J Thanks a lot! I'm glad you think so. :)
sounds like it could played in Twilight Princess
Oh, I never thought of that, but I see what you mean!
True.
It sounds a bit like the shadow realm musics.
a truly sinister version of the song I never found the original that spooky but this one definitely has the spooky vibes in spades

I'm realy hoping it will change with BotW.
From what I am seeing, BotW will be a lot more darker though it is questionable whether or not it will match the Shadow Temple or Majora's Mask
Shadow Walker
Yes, I heard it has a dark story.
And it is difficult!
put it this way, your going to die a few times especially unprepared
That intro is awesome. Chills for 40 seconds and the rest of the song does not disappoint. This is my favorite temple remix so far.

Not the best idea to play this while exploring a crypt in skyrim
lol, precisely i installed a Custom music mod for Skyrim, and i added this one for the Draugr crypts. Its awesome and fitting for me.
Oh, I love these OoT covers. Keep it up!
It's been long time I haven't come on this, you've made a great job with the ambiance of the temple, you've given it the darkness level it deserves
Wait, I never commented on this? Huh. This is by far the best interpretation of the Shadow Temple I've ever heard.
ewenk7 Well, thank you! :D

The shadow temple is my favorite in ocarina of time it's awesome and creepy as hell
The spirit temple is my favorite i used to be scared to death by the shadow temple because of the music and everything else i just couldn't take it!
Fantastically eerie. Subbed.

Braving Shadow Temple paved my courage to play my first horror game from back then: Resident Evil 2.

I'm quite flattered by that comparison! :D I love that theme (and the battle in general.)

Very very very very cool. Parts of this sound like the Lanayru Mining Facility from Skyward Sword.
