I think the reason they get so angry at dissent is that they are essentially in a cult and like any cult they reinforce their beliefs by retreating into an echo chamber of lies, the truth can bring that house of cards down easily if it isn't silenced. Compare that to robust opinions, if you say the world is round, every other person in the room can tell you it's flat and it makes no difference because your position is provable and robust, it doesn't require unanimous support to have power or validity so it's holders don't feel threatened by those who disagree.

FYI - The malpractice insurance denials are ONLY happening in the Red States that have enacted Gender Affirming Care bans not because they're concerned about Civil Cases from Detranstioners, but because they're concerned about Criminal Cases from the government. Providers in Blue States where Gender Affirming Care is still legal for minors are having no such issue with obtaning malpratice insurance, with some states like California even requiring that malpractice insurers cover providers that offer Gender Affirming Care.

The trolly problem is a perfect analogy. I'm autistic and I would have loved to get diagnosed as a child so I didn't have to live with the problems I suffered through my entire life. I don't however think that we should diagnose all children with autism so that teh autistic kids can get help. Diagnosing depression as autism is damaging, diagnosing a healthy child with autism is damaging and I do not wish to damage children so that children like me get the help they need. That's not even a surgical intervention and it's a known condition with science behind it. I still don't want yo damage children so kids that are like I was cancelled get help. It's a sick and selfish thing to do
