Try This is a series of videos dedicated to sharing interesting games and game playstyles. This video discusses Elminster, a new plainswalker commander from Battle for Baldur's Gate. He was really fun to build around and was an interesting new commander for the Azorius Fliers deck archetype.

This is awesome, but holy money, Batman. Would you be willing to do a budget-friendly updated video since a lot of support has come out in the past year?
I totally understand, the example decks are not suppose to be budget builds. Budget is really subjective so in my videos I just really wanted to suggest interesting cards that work with the commander or game plan explain why and let the viewer decide what best fit their budget. I tried a budget deck tech type video and there didn't seem to be a lot of interest in it so idk lol. If I started making videos again it would probably not have budget in mind other than a few budget suggestions like what I used to do. As for an update video to previous commanders maybe! No promises yet on making new videos but I'm considering it. Thanks for watching!
I wanted to come back to this and just say how much fun I'm having with Elminster. Its performance has exceeded my expectation and I was grateful for some of the caveats you pointed out in terms of its playstyle. I'm also glad that I avoided extra turn spells as feels more enjoyable in the Pod. Thanks again and I really appreciate the series

Mystic reflection + draco on top of library + scion of Oona will result in 16 15/15 flying shroud scion of Oona.
What cards do you think also synergize with Elminster? Do you have any suggestions for commanders to build around in the future? Let me know!
I want to see a Zaffai vid, everyone just talks about veyran in this precon i think zaffai its way more fun
Mystic Reflection and Mirrorweave are cards that synergize well with token production. Set up a big -3 for Elminster and Mystic reflection to have them all come in as something with a valuable ETB, or fly in and after blockers Mirrorweave to pump them or get a valuable combat damage trigger

So does Elminster's passive ability work in the commander zone or just when he's out?
