EXCELLENT INCLUSION of the “No take, only throw” comic! Walking through the decision process of cuts and additions is very helpful in my own deck building. I don’t even have most of the decks in the upping the average series, but it all helps universally. (Also 10:22 hehe categories)

The only critique I can give this series is that there’s no “on theme pun” tracker. I’d really like to see how your puns-per-deck-tech changes over time. Seems like a relevant stat for the format.
IMO, Huatli, Radiant Champion is a good planeswalker for Rin and Seri, as soon as you drop her and trigger her +1 she'd gain 10+ loyalty out of nowhere.
I’m sorry, but I can’t bring myself to add changelings to me rin and seri deck. It’s a huge loss in flavor for me and flavor always beats function in my decks
the deck linked doesn't seem to be finished, and there are a lot of duplicated cards in it. Am I missing something, or is this deck actually a lot cheaper since you'd cut the duplicates and such?
I built rin and seri for my gf i tried to make it simple so i went cat tribal with some dog and utility mixed in. Only use one board wipe. Then gave her anthems and stuff to 3/4 wide and 1/2 big. But jetmir and jinnie both are good in this deck especially using token doublers
This strikes me as one of those tribal commanders were you actually dont want to be too tied down by the tribal-ness of it. When Rin and Seri came out I was all excited to make a brawl deck with it (with covid and everything brawl is about the best I can do right now, pale imitation it is) and was really disappointed with the results. Turns out, if your creatures are only good if you control your commander your opponent will just kill your commander. Playing what's essentially a genetic 2/2 for 2 just isn't good enough and that's gonna happen if you plan to always control your commander. So, I cut all the cats and dogs that weren't any good if the commander wasn't there to see their etb and filled the spots with cards to generally just help out a naya creature deck. Of course, commander with its bigger card pool means you don't have to settle for as many lack luster creatures to get to that critical mass of tribal synergies, but even still I'm seeing a number of creatures here that I won't bother casting without the commander in play and I think that's a plan for failure.
Maybe a silly question but why are signet better with this commander since you still need naya mana on the board to even be able to cast it ? I miss maybe something ?
If you compare signets to something like rampant growth it has two advantages: 1. You don't need green to cast it, so e.g. with 2 Plains, 1 Mountain and a Selesnya Signet you can still cast your commander on turn 3. 2. It is more versatile later on if you draw too many lands of one type. This can be especially the case if you run a lot of basic lands. If you rely on green ramp that also means that you have to put in more forests to make sure you are able to cast it on curve which can then be a problem if you didn't draw any of your ramp and end up with two many forests.
Hi there, I've purchased the secret lair, but now I need help to make it as tough and powerful as cute little puppies and kitties can be. You see, I play commander in shark-infested waters. Jodah, Omnath, Prosper, The Ur-Dragon and their high-powered friends are frequent fliers and unfortunately, frequent opponents. I almost always get obliterated. I really liked your emphasis on what the deck is trying to do, but I need to take it to 11. Is it possible for this deck to run with the big dogs while staying true to its roots? Some pricier cards includes can be an option. Help with a deck list would be much appreciated so I can at least tread water on Saturday nights. Thanks and great video!
I would love to see you make Licia, Sanguine Tribune because she is missing one small thing which she really needs, LIFE GAIN. so I would love to see how you change her to make her deck strat work because she currently doesn't work like she really should and that is sad because she is quite interesting desig
I built this deck right when rin and seri came out and I'm not very impressed with the average deck or the improvements. Yeah really just want to play the lowest cmc cats dogs and changelings, get beast masters ascension out, and swing. I've also tried focusing on the tap ability with artifacts that copy abilities and ways to untap R&S but didn't have much luck playing that way, it is just too slow for my play group. I'd add maskwood nexus definitely though! Now all your dogs are also cats, your cats also dogs, and any utility creatures are both!
@@EDHRECast after rewatching I really appreciate the cuts you made for the reasons you made them. I'd probably leave the 2 cmc changeling and cut a higher cmc cat like keeper of fables. I'd put in shamanic revelation and collective unconscious and also shared animosity and mercadia's downfall. Also I played with the idol and it works great when your building a board state but feels kinda sad after your commander has been killed a couple times and you're trying to rebuild. And then there's the expensive game enders but that's not the point of this series I know. Great upping the average, you're one of my favorite commander content creators!
@@burningpapersun1 have you played with that deck? You've only got 25 lands. I'd drop some of the higher cmc and less optimal cats and look for 1 and 2 drop cats and 1-3 drop changelings. I'd also ditch a lot of the enchantments and spells.

Yeah, it looks like Archidekt might be having a small double-up bug of some kind. Hopefully it gets cleaned up soon, but we'll keep an eye on it!

Because everything else about these is perfect. Your killing it, much like my cat and his “presents”.
I use 0 dogs and go with strictly cats and enchantments. So Aura shards is a must, alter of bone, and I also use Kaheera as a companion.
how is that working out? I think it's viable since dogs don't add much anyway and kaheera is pretty neat as a companion

True. Thanks! I tend to avoid mana rocks in green deck in fear of mass artefact destruction but you're spot on.

I feel like I'm going insane. If I have green I will NEVER run more than 30 lands.... unless Landfall themed
If Bronzehide dies and you didn't leave up 2 mana that's on you. Otherwise it was exiled and the 2nd part can't happen anyway.
i dont get why you wouldnt cut those garbage signets. Theyre so useless when you have green and ramp.
