That turbo setup is just sexy, this is the first time I've seen the Wiggins clamps. Those look super clean would love to try them one day!
I'm always shocked and amazed at how broad Turbo Yoda's knowledge of cars is, every single video. DAMN, a true master of his craft!

At idle sounds like a ported rotary.
Incredible build! The FT86 generally isn't my cup of tea but I definitely appreciate the work that went into this. That exhaust note sounds more like a wild NA engine as opposed to a turbo setup. Would interested to see how it sounds at full noise on a power pull.
Agree it sounds like a tough NA. I'd say because of the full twin system. They are rare on a six but I love it.
I think Woody should edit in elevator musac when the hoist goes up and down it would fit the show perfectly i think 🤘

TE37s look good on every car. You could put em on a hotrod or a new Hyundai and they'd look right.
I HAVE JUST WATCHED THIS AND YOUR WORK IS AMAZING. I am a big exhaust system guy and I try my best to make my exhaust look as best to my ability, but the system on this car has inspired me to do even better and Wilder things. I watch and love all your videos. I am a big diesel guy so that is what I work on most of the time. I also GUARANTEE THAT AL WILL LOVE VOLKSWAGENs if you do a VW diesel build, BUT equivalent to the BEW or ALH engine code in the states.
When I herd the idle I thought it was an ls with a cam lol 😂

I would prefer a sleeved 6 cylinder flat boxer than a 2JZ for the BRZ.

As atoyota Tech here in the states, this is the closest to a new supra as is gets. This is what they should have done. Great job by the gents and you guys to build a real super cool ride. I love it. Ausies are amazing at building unique and stylish rides well done.
The only thing that would make this episode any blingier, would be for Al to wear a faux fur trench coat and a grill of gold teeth.

You're right to be proud of your involvement (both of you), it's a stunner AND a runner by the sounds of it!
2JZ is overdone, would be sick to see more 2GR turbos, sounds better (subjective) and lighter. But still an amazing build!
Builds like these - if they take one to the face, is it "only" the front bumper plastic/fiber shell, IC, radiator and eventually the front of the engine to take the hit and crumple? - Or is there some other structural "protection" left for absorbing (some of) the energy transfer to the cab, I'm not thinking of..?
Everything about this build is sexy.
The "dislikes" are probably all aircraft techs that have dealt with Wiggins fittings/clamps. They are so brutal to install when the o-rings are new. I cringe just thinking of it.
I would love to see Al work for Toyota. He would be awesome at designing a new performance car for TRD.
86 rally car with a 2jz-gte. Ground clearance isnt so much of an issue and epic fun.

Aircraft grade toilet system clamps... every aircraft engineers worst nightmare
Sorry if I missed it but doesn't the lack of inner wheel wells make for loads of mess in the engine bay (not to mention the potential damage to the filterless turbos)?
Your front-end suspension looks like a wisefab angle kit with some fortune auto coils if I'm not mistaken😅
Love a straight 6 with a cam but the quality sound of this one isn’t lost through the turbos. Amazing vehicle.

Boeing and Lockheed both use that style wiggins fittings, same color as well.
Just for those who are not in the know those Wiggins clamps are like 100 to $200 each

Dumb question: Are the air filters removed for demonstration purposes? I imagine debris would come into the engine compartment since the front wheel wells are opened up.
Yeah the filters are probably removed for show only.

Al have you ever thought of making oval pipes in a clearance situation? Or would that be too much work for too little gain?

It has plates but is it actually road registered?
Rego check shows those plates being registered to a 2012 86 so it sure looks like it.
how come no one puts mesh over the turbo inlets to keep debris out of the turbines?

Not my cup of tea but very well thought out & executed, anyone who has ever actually built something will recognise that. Just get those blacked engine mounting bolts swapped out for something with a proper corrosion resistant coating! Good job though!

Cooking a New Years fry up with MCM GTiR and Skid Factory 2JZ. Not a bad start to the year.
Top notch Al 👌. On the point you made when using hard hose, not rubber or sillicone hosing, with alloy hoses and Wiggins clamps etc. The amount of extra thought/work/time that goes into fabbing it all up and making it serviceable isn't easy.. amazing work Al 👏
I like how Al put it, it twin Garrett turbos, why, why not , 😂 it has a comfortable 900 BHP, and lots of potential left in it, that's why its here for 3 inch exhaust,2200cc injectors, this is the E85 EXPRESS, 👍
