    hey Matt just stared golfing and you've been my instructor for the past 6 weeks I had a mean slice to the right now I can go fairly straight. I know I have a ways to go but thanks for your videos you're the best.
    I'm 50yr I still cant hit a driver straight, but hit a 4 iron 200+ on average

    Anyone else ever have the feeling that the content creators like Matt know what part of your game you’re working on currently? A week or so ago, I was working on the driver and Boom, a MrShortGame driver episode. This week I’m hitting fats and thins chipping and pitching, boom, chipping episode. Your timing is uncanny. Thanks for the great advice. I’ll continue to promote your channel!

    Absolutely the TRUEST chipping #1 mistake video I've ever seen. Bringing the club to the inside causes all sorts of issues. Heal presentation, body sway to compensate, yips are soon to follow.. Try bringing the wedge to the inside on the backswing on a tight Bermuda grass lie.. GOOD LUCK with that one. ChunkBladeHealDig city. Great video! Thank you!

    Hi Matt. Just a message of thanks to you. I’ve been struggling with my chipping and pitching for the past few years. So much so I almost froze. It was awful. I saw your video on chipping and exiting left so not to duff it and the pitching drill where you say to have a nice slow swing. I took it to the European Club near me in Wicklow, Ireland. It’s a tough links course. The world of difference, it was fantastic. My confidence is slowly coming back now. I’ve searched so many of these videos on TH-cam but this is the first thats worked. I’ll keep trying. Thanks so much for the vids and your time. You’re a star. Keep up the superb work. Fan forever, Peter in Ireland 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻☘️☘️

    Awesome video. Gonna go practice this asap. If you read your comments... why do I tend to hit it thin - or why do people in general tend to hit it thing when chipping around the green?

    just had the exact same fundamental lesson from my club pro last month! my feel is to take it more outside which actually gets me on plane and utilizing bounce more effectively. great content here!

    Hi Matt, I find that my back swing is ok but my weight distribution sometimes gets lost. Lots to work at to improve. Stay well

  • @wallstreetoneil
    @wallstreetoneil 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The biggest improvement I made to my game was adopting the 'feeling' of hitting a very slight outside/in fade-spin pitching action. What this did was keep the bounce on the wedge through the impact zone that fraction longer. I became a completely different player - my handicap went from 10 to 4. I would encourage everyone to develop this type of shot around the green - you can always go back to that draw-spin shot when needed, but the very slightly open face technique is a must-have goto shot.

    Matt,
    In another video on chipping you said to open club, take it inside an d flip going thru. Now you say take it straight back square? Which is it???

      Not sure what that means. I do tend to hit ground early, so maybe taking to far inside. Also hit some shanks with full swing wedges.Guess I am more technical. I learned a lot from you. Thanks

    What club do u recommend for a high capper chipping around green in tight lies down in Florida? I struggle with skulking the ball over the green back and forth with my 58 Thanks Bro!

    • @any1younger
      @any1younger 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Off tight lies you DONT want to be playing a 58’ club! Suicide. 54’ maximum but better with even lower loft and slightly opening the face......you want less bounce in firm conditions

    • @robbiegolding1831
      @robbiegolding1831 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@any1younger thank you! Maybe a pitching wedge to be safe? Also , how about a tight lie that I have to get over a trap but not far distance wise?
