    My sibling recommended this luxury vinyl planks but after researching it, found to have some big issues like VOC & difficult to remove etc. No thanks, last thing I want is toxic chemicals from this floor. Great video and thank you!

    I purchased a home with VPF. The first day moving in I put a washing basket in the laundry sink & it flipped up the handle filling the washing in the basket with water, I didn’t hear it as it had clothes to be washed in it. We left home for lunch and came home to the downstairs flooded, our packing boxes on the floor seeped with water also. 😫 I thought for sure I’d have to redo the floor yet 12 months later and it’s in the same new condition. Go figure!
    The only gripe I have with them is if they get a deep scratch you cannot fix one without a headache, particularly like me if you do not have spare and the manufacturer is no longer.
    Other than that I LOVE them and would have them again if I built another home.
    Thanks and take good care, Guys ☮️💜

      Thanks for sharing your real life experience with us! A single LVP can be repaired/replaced but sometimes the interlocking mechanism is destroyed in the process.
      Thanks again for commenting! 😃

    Here's another truth - if you've never done it before, it is not a one-person job!! LOL .... I found this out hard (back-breaking) way last year when I took on a flooring project in the upstairs bedroom and did it alone - I've never been so exhausted in my entire life, and I've given birth! LOL!! It would have definitely been better if I'd had someone doing it with me - lesson learned! It might not have been so bad if I'd been on the main floor, but hauling everything to the car, out of the car, into the house, and then up the stairs? I was already tired before I could even lay a single plank. Thanks for the vid - love your content!!

    I live in a mobile home, I'm planning to take the carpet up and put down the peel& stick floor down, what can I put down first to make sure it sticks?

    • @DIYPowerCouple
      @DIYPowerCouple  ปีที่แล้ว

      If your subfloor is clean, your peel and stick tiles should bond well after rolling them. Check this out...th-cam.com/video/mlt7tDXFFeA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=85WWOjKL0tJrWT8p

    Question I have old wood floors with some unevenness.. I was told to not get the click in plank floors but to put a sub floor down with wood and get the planks that have to be glued on. Is that the best option. It's for my sewing room where some heavy machines will be that need to be on even flooring. Could you do a video on how to install this type of flooring all I ever see are the click together kind.

    • @DIYPowerCouple
      @DIYPowerCouple  ปีที่แล้ว

      They may have told you the correct solution for your situation because the floating planks must have an even subfloor to connect. We found that out while we were in the middle of our project. We may consider the glued down planks, but we have to research to see if they are DIY-friendly. As of right now, vinyl planks are more beginner-friendly. 😃😊

      @@DIYPowerCouple My friend's finance is a contractor he claims the glue on one's are easier to install. I wish he could do it for me but he's busy all the time. Thanks for responding

    Vinyl flooring is JUNK. They shrink n create large gaps.

      Which brand do you have installed?

    • @brokenarrowez
      @brokenarrowez หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@red_edjNone. I grew up in the floor covering business. My dad started teaching me the trade when I was ten yo. in 1960. I use to go to all the manufacturers training seminars. I received many Certificates of accomplishments. All the flooring manufacturers sold the business to conglomerates. They in turn start selling to the Big Box stores to sell directly to the consumer or Do It Yourself Market. They started making junk for pricing n a bigger market. Bottom line is profits. You install, you save, take out the professionals, you mess up no guarantees for the labor. There's more but this phone is too small to type. Today's market is low pricing, DIY, save.😢😢
