Miss cutting silage. Was my favorite part of farming. We ran a Massey 1105 with a 2 row header. 3 silage wagons and 2 6500 cevy dump trucks. 1 upright 65'tall and 1 pit about the size of your center pit. Thanks for taking me along. Loved the video. Brings back a lot of good memories.
Excellent video Eric I wasn't sure how much the side of the settle but wow when you said it was at the bottom of the unloader and it settled a good 20' down it will make great feed for your cows ... At least you ain't got to pack down the bunk silos then cover them with plastic and tires

Dang, that is impressive. Has to be exciting to use those brand new silos. I hope it works out well. That blower is so impressive to me! We struggled at times blowing into an 80' Harvestore in the 80's. That takes all you can give it and it goes up 135? So cool!

Denke aber bitte immer an die Sicherheit! Das heißt am besten immer mit Seilsicherung klettern und vor dem Betreten des Silos sicher sein, dass keine Gase mehr im Silo sind. Den Mais immer über 40 % Trockenmasse silieren (vermindert Gasbildung) und immer vorher frische Luft mit dem Gebläse hinein blasen. Zur Kontrolle gibt es Gasmessgeräte. Danke für dein Video.
Great idea with the plastic on the ground to get every bit of silage into the silo. You will save a lot of fuel not having to pack the bunkers not to mention the cost of the plastic liner and cover. Also nice to see the new silos put into service. The summer sure seemed to go fast. Seems like just a few weeks ago you were planting. Do you think you will ever need another silo? Amazing how much gas was coming out of the silo, i learned more about how they work today. i love your educational videos. Great video and thanks till next time.

I was excited for you to get these silos “in work” as they say at NASA. I’ll bet you’re really excited ! How long till everything’s operational ? You must be counting the days ! Saving wear and tear on tractors with the harvest and feeding. That’s wonderful ! Hope it all works well for you in the cold weather with snow.
It used to take so many people helping you, now its just you watching a monitor and scooping up the stuff that spills. So much easier and less stressful I'm sure. Very Impressive

Great going, looking real good. Hey, I noticed that your tractor lanes next to the silos look like they're not packed well and are loose like marbles. You might need some "fines" or stone dust added to lock that in a little better. Advice from the cheap seats, lol. 👍
You need to put one of the weather cameras on top of the silo. I love the view from up there but it always gives me the willies when you look straight down.

It's usually worse on a bigger silo... I've seen it Plenty of times on ours.
It's almost eerie, you can see it at your feet when you are in a silo that's just been filled.
He needs to be extremely cautious with his conveyor opening and feed room right there. That stuff can kill quickly

It makes sense to have dryer feed on the bottom of the silo. The moisture of the more moist feed on top of it will make it moist.
