Kendall Reusing Wins Big: Competing for Team USA at USA Grappling | Full Match Coverage Ep. 5

- In this special Road To ADCC episode, we have a lil detour into competition land!! 😊🫶🏼🇺🇸 I was invited to compete in Los Angeles at the USA Grappling World Team Trials, for a chance to represent the Team US at World Championships this October in Astana, Kazakhstan. Yes, all of that is a mouthful. 😂
In the episode, I explain alllll about how this works, work through wanting to throw up with competition nerves (the usual for me lol), break down real-time tournament adjustments after matches, and bring you through the process start to finish. This event was a great opportunity to collect data for ADCC, too, and gave me great insight into what needs to be sharpened in the next 7 weeks or so till the big show.

29:50 hey, Kendall, do you know what works here to get your foot out? Push down until under your knee and then pull up fast! 90% of the time, the foot will pass through. I use it all the time, and its a little counterintuitive, but it works most of the times, because they think the position is updated so they will move, too.

You have done adcc, now going to world grappling championship, etc. Maybe also try catch wrestling. Although at snake pit Wigan ( only competition in catch world as of right now) no strangle but catch style cross face and facelock okay. Or even try beach wrestling. Laetitia Blot a former judoka have competed in judo, freestyle wrestling, and sambo. Then went into MMA. But now does beach wrestling. Didn't make it at beach wrestling world cup but got silver 🥈 at French national beach wrestling championship.
Laetitia Blot trained in bjj and Luta Livre ( catch wrestling and judo combo) for MMA. I am not necessarily saying to do MMA but do more varieties of grappling/ wrestling competition.

@20:00 when you fck up big time and need to recover, start talking sht in your head (and not to or at yourself). Ownership with an edge. Dare em to do something about it. Might not work well though if you’re not a skilled sht talker or willing to work on it. Practice. It’s like a stiff arm to someone trying to tackle ya
