    Great video as always! In regards to the Nucler Launch list - given point drops, and changes to Maelstrom, I was thinking about ditching the Maelstrom, and swapping Knight Relictor for Lord Arcanum on Gryph Charger. If you make him a general it makes Spellcasting Savant quite decent, and the mount trait makes the Comet a bit more reliable. But I'm not sure whether losing the Translocation from Relictor is worth it, any thoughts on that? Also I could just remove the Maelstrom, keep Relictor, and add one more Vanquishers/Liberators, should be OK with the points

    • @TheStormkeep
      @TheStormkeep  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Every time I don't have Translocate, I wish I had Translocate :P
      LAGC is a good pick, we have been integrating him into many lists to help score Savant
      I think this list wants as many bodies on the table as possible, so another REDEEMER unit is great

    • @Eldiandiril
      @Eldiandiril 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TheStormkeepyea, probably keeping Relictor and adding another Redeemer is the way to go. Having one more screen feels a bit safer, since the list is not using Call for Aid. And probably going for Warlord + extra Holy Command instead of Andtorian Acolytes is not worth it, considering how impactful a single cast of blizzard can be, and relying just on the "default" primal dice to cast it usually doesn't work great.

    • @TheStormkeep
      @TheStormkeep  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Eldiandiril Personally I prefer Call for Aid, since I tend to keep my Incantor too far to cast Blizzard (he needs to survive to score Savant)

    • @Eldiandiril
      @Eldiandiril 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheStormkeep I wasn't necessarily speaking of situation where the intent is to push Incantor forward to cast Blizzard, but rather a case where you create a threat of casting blizzard, and opponent has to make sure that if they come near him, they kill Incantor, or get punished (though I imagine more skilled players will be able to play around that rather easily, I've just noticed that when playing with friends the threat of blizzard often makes the opponent think twice about coming anywhere near the Incantor). But honestly that's a good point, going for guaranteed value of Call for Aid, rather than a potential threat of blizzard. Might try that over the weekend.

    Due to the new points. Would you still only take 2 units in a list or 3 now? Or is it only 2 because of how it plays.

    • @TheStormkeep
      @TheStormkeep  ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem with running 3x3 Grandhammers is that you must drop one each turn, and youll spend the first 2 rounds with 400p in reserve. Doesn't leave you with many options for playing against aggressive melee armies
      Questors work better as a 3rd drop unit instead of a 3rd unit of Grandhammers because they can be deployed on the table. They are a tough screen with good damage and they teleport somewhere useful later.

  • @TheChristhesecond
    @TheChristhesecond ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Regular grand hammers now at 150 points. Worth using two units?

    • @TheStormkeep
      @TheStormkeep  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The problem with Shield Annihilators is that they are basically useless if they don't get to charge immediately after coming in from reserve... but only one unit per turn can use Guided By Lightning to set up >7" from enemies. Would you rather set up Shields or Grandhammers? In almost every situation, Grandhammers (or Questors) are better. For that reason the Shield Annihilators don't see a lot of play in Annihilator Lists that want to use Guided By Lightning.
      However, we are seeing some interesting lists that spam Shield Annihilators just to deal impact mortal wounds. Those type of "Cometfall" lists can pull off some easy victories into armies that have low wound counts, but will really struggle into armies like Sons of Behemat and Soulblight Gravelords that have tremendous amounst of wounds.

    Can you do the 7" drop twice in one turn if you bring two Lord Imperatants?

    • @TheStormkeep
      @TheStormkeep  ปีที่แล้ว

      Just one unit per turn can use Guided by Lightning even if you bring multiple Imperatants

    Hi, I tried a modified 1500 pts of "annihilators" list (as I don't have Questor Soulsworns or Vainquishiers) and got my @%% handed to me. Sure, its our first games, we are not used to all the abilities, and maybe because it's a modified list and it's 1500 points. there is surely a bit of everthing (oh and the fact that I choose to not go first and maybe I lost the game at that moment.
    Anyways, I was wondering something : If I understand correctly, you suggest to use the annihilators once each round to put them at 7 inches of enemy unit(s). But what do you do if they use the command ability " redeploy" ? it will almost instantly remove them form the 10 inches radius and won't be able to charge.
    Unless I don't understand how redeploy works.

    • @TheStormkeep
      @TheStormkeep  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Redeploy can only be used if an enemy finishes a normal move, run, or retreat within 9". Setting up a unit cannot trigger Redeploy

    Any idea on a 1000pt Annihilator list?
    I always end up +70 points :/
    Incantor,
    Imperatant,
    Anni with 2hand,
    Anni with shields,
    Questor soulsworn,
    Raptors with longstrike crossbows.

    I am thinking of running 2 units of GHs and a reinforced unit of Anis with shields. Really like the models, but not sure if it plays well.

    • @janotto765
      @janotto765 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your not alone. I had the same idea too. 😉At least you can use the Shield Annihilators to pin your opponent in his deployment zone. 🤔

    • @TheStormkeep
      @TheStormkeep  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The problem with running 3x units of Annihilators is that you must drop one each turn to get maximum effect (or else risk 9" charges which are not reliable!) and youll spend the first 2 rounds with 400p+ in reserve. Doesn't leave you with many options for playing against aggressive melee armies.
      Questors work better as a 3rd drop unit instead of a 3rd unit of Annihilators because they can be deployed on the table. They are a tough screen with good damage and they teleport somewhere useful later.
      6x Shield Annihilators are the same wounds as 6x Questors, and deal the same melee damage, but cost 70p more for +1 to Save. I think in most cases I would rather use 6 Questors + 3 Aetherwings than 6 Shield Annihilators :P
      Haven't tried running double reinforced Shield Annihilators yet... there might be some play there!
