Kirstie actually went pink earlier this year for their performance of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on the Lincoln Center Salute to Dick Van Dyke (that performance is also available on TH-cam). This IS a live performance, but it was prerecorded about a week before the July 4th TV special (the group released several preview snippets of it on their social media platforms in the week leading up to the show). Pentatonix recorded a studio version of this song a while back for a Broadway covers album they were planning, but that album was never finished. The songs that were recorded for that album ended up on other albums, with Seasons coming out on last year's Christmas album. This live version is a much more complex and full arrangement with the addition of the choir. Being familiar with the studio version, I was watching the show as it aired on July 4th just to see if Kirstie was gonna hit THAT note that she nailed on the album. As soon as she did, I literally yelled "YOU GO GIRL!" joyously at my TV. I've never said "you go girl" before in my life!!
Kirsti slays this and KO and Matt give them such a strong base (bass? heh) to build the structure of the song. What really warms my heart about this love-themed song are the looks shared by Kirsti and Scott as each begins their respective solo - it really shows the special bond that all of the members of the group seem to share, unusual (at the very least) for musical groups who work so closely together. Thanksfor covering this one, Lauren, I always appreciate the opinion of a knowledgable music professional...my own is kind of limited to the "ooh, purty" genre. I know that most music professional reactors prefer to review live performances but I would love to hear you cover their version of "Amazing Grace". I'm not religious but the performance is so sublime it doesn't matter...also, just to really appreciate the brilliance of Kevin "KO" Olusola I thionk you would love their performance of their original song "Coffee in Bed" done live (somehow or another) on Jimmy Kimmel. PTX did a little ad for LMNT (element) involving their original song a little space. Its short but it highlights each of them. Also Kirstin's pink hair made its first appearance.

BTW, I shamelessly listened to you reaction video many times that you did with the Pentatinox 90's Dance Medley. You are not that old but you knew all those song ? Since you are a classical singer, I would love you to review anything by Hayley Westenra, a New Zealander that is not classically trained but I believe is number 3 or 4 on classical recording charts.

PBS means a pretty good chance a music label won't come along and hassle you about this. You probably could have gotten away with less pauses because PBS doesn't toss around copyright claims as much.
