On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

You dominated with the F-18 flat out. What about a cross over with the f-4 skyhawk vs the f-18? Or perhaps f-18 vs the Harrier?

Long time watcher, first time commenter here. Thank you for great content @GrowlingSidewinder, your channel has re-ignited my passion for aviation. Flying airliner sims for now, but will likely get to mil stuff, too.
A few ideas I'd be very keen to see in the channel:
1) US+Australia vs China - it would be great to see the Fat Amy and Super Hornet force take on J-15s and J-20s over South China Sea
2) Top Gun Maverick inspired scenario 1 : replacing Super Hornets with Fat Amys in the strike mission to see how they cope with the SAMs and Felons
3) Top Gun Maverick inspired scenario 2 : say Cyclone did authorise launching Hangman and some more Hornets and F35s to support strike group's return and Maverick's rescue. Would be interesting to see how that plays out.

I'd love a generational bandit unknown, you and your opponent go head to head with a single jet/fighter from each generation of fighter aircraft. Start with props, mig15/f86, etc.

Sukhoi really makes some beautiful aircraft, cockpit may not have the best visibility but no denying their designs are attractive.⚔

With the way the inlets are under all the Sukhoi aircraft and the nose being so high and forward of belly they all kinda look like fifth wheel trailers to me. That goose neck being up and out there.

These bandit unknown videos are some of the best. It's also crazy how quickly these rounds flash by. Modern dogfights are no joke. It's no wonder they design the F35 around avoiding them.
The F-35 doesnt avoid dogfights because it cant fight. It avoids them because it's even more lethal at every other range. Nothing ever gets to a merge with it.
But be very aware that if you do get into a merge with an F-35 and youre not in an F-22, you're in trouble.
It outrates, out AoA's and outmaneuvers F-16's and Super Hornets.

In every other scenario it kicks the shit out of everything not named F-22
9:10 the fact that you took the time to divert your bird away from the road before ejecting is astounding to me. Like that thought would have never crossed my mind at all. Shows your skill off. 10/10.
8:58 this litterally happened a few weeks ago here in italy
the Frecce Tricolore were training for an airshow one or 2 days later, and one of the pilots had a bird strike, so first he tried (unsuccesfully) to recover the aircraft, and then tried to slam it into the ground, in the hope that inertia was not enough to reach the road up ahead, before ejecting.... unfortunately, the aircraft was fast enough so scraps of the plane ended up into the road just as a car was passing by, resulting in severe injuries of a man, a woman and their son, while their 5 y/o daughter unfortunately died on impact
the pilot also suffered 2nd degree burns from the hot smoke generated as the plane crashed and i believe he has just recently recovered
at least the rest of the family also recovered from the injuries and no other death was provoked, but still a shocking event to watch
I've always been impressed by the amount of effort pilots put into avoiding hurting people on the ground. You have to respect them staying in the aircraft when it is obviously going to crash in the hopes to prevent the injury or death of people the pilot has never met.
Damn that SU-57 hooked to his six in a matter of seconds.

Gonky, from "the ready room" podcast has actually fought Flankers IRL witht he super hornet (I think they were Su-30MKI from the Indian air force during exercices with them) and holds the plane in high regard
I'd also like to see you guys do a same plane dogfights, let some situations happen where it's all pilot. Toxic is getting very good and near your match.

I’m getting a little more impressed by the flanker every time I see it fly. If it can stay together it would be one aircraft to have in the arsenal. Along with the top dog, mr raptor , fat Ami, and my boy in the A10. Maybe an f15ex too.

Let both of them have Fox 2's! Of course the F-86 can only carry AIM-9B's, so it still helps the Su-25 out overall.

I agree about the Su-27 being a beautiful aircraft. There's something about the design and its derivatives that's just aesthetically pleasing. Always been a fan.
The Hornet v Flanker was a great shot of guns and Fox 2 arriving at the same time. Lost a wing to the gun and ate a missile.
its crazy that 441 Hornet painted in the checker pattern still exists but is a maintenance trainer.

don't know if u heard but not long ago, one of the freccie tri-colori had a malfunction or something, maybe hit birds. they were over a runway but were unfortunately at the end, the pilot ejected, the jet pitched down and went into flames, since it was at the end of the runway, the wreckage went through the fence onto the road, hitting a car with a mother, father and daughter onboard. the 5 y/o daughter was killed. so yeah, 9:31 was not too far from reality, the wreck from the f15 wouldve ended up on the road, maybe killing someone

I think the F-15 engines might be a little close together to make best use of differential thrust. 😅
That’s what I was thinking as well; probably more effective in an F-14. 😂
When you fire the m61 in DCS, is there a tiny delay between clicking the trigger and the gun starting to fire?
War Thunder has this little delay as the gun starts to spin before firing and that is sometimes enough to make me miss a shot. Super frustrating

Is the reason the differential trust works better in the Flanker than the F-15 because the distance between the engines and centerline greater than in the F-15? Or is it the stability controls and the Flanker allows you to turn them off?

I'm always looking for ways the F-16 can win. The fight started with an offset split S...if you had turned in the same direction as him so that your circles overlapped perfectly, would it have put you in better position? The Flanker will always have the tighter first turn, so if you're offset when he points his nose you're going to be in more of a noise to tail situation.

I’m a fan of your content. I’ve been trying to get into DCS for a while, but not having any planes that I know well makes it not as fun, so I’m wondering what plane you would recommend for me, a beginner, that is easy to learn and a lot of fun. I’m thinking about F-18 Super Hornet, F-35, F-22, and the F-14 Tomcat. The F-22 and F-14 are my favorites, but I’m still unsure. Also, it is worth noting, I don’t use VR or head tracking so I might want something with more maneuverability like the F-22. Keep up the great work!
In videos of the way past, GS has recommended the F-18 as a great beginner plane. The controls are relatively easy to learn on, and is a multi-role fighter so it can help train in a variety of scenarios.
Yeah, you're gonna want some head tracking hardware. Better to start with it and acclimatise with the suggested F/A 18 C Hornet (not super). Once you use it you will never lose it.

I'd also go for the Hornet among these. The Tomcat is older so less technology to assist you, plus it's a two-seater (so limited direct radar control) and while extremely rewarding I feel it's hard to master. The F-22 and F-35 are not official modules so not ideal. But if you're really new to flight sims maybe it's better to not pick a full-fidelity plane from FC, like the Su-27. True, operating the plance is simpler, but exactly because of that it can be a good choice so you can focus on learning to 1) fly and 2) fight. Later you can move to a full-fidelity and learn the detailed procedures.
Can you do a video where you choose like an F16 and a hornet. But both planes play their opposite roles. F16 fights 1 circle and F18 fights 2 circle
I love the look of the flanker as well, it’s my favorite Russian fighter.
Is differential thrust so effective in the flankers because the engines are so far apart, at least compared to the F-15 and F-18? It's it that valuable, why haven't any US aircraft followed that design theory?
The amount of G-Force a pilot would have to eat to make that flip at 7:55 would be blackout inducing

I'd like to see a gauntlet style of fights. I.e. both pilots choose like 5 planes and when you get killed you can't use that plane again until there's only 1 left standing
Both players would just start with their fifth gen fighters and whoever won that fight would sweep the rest of the planes. On paper it's a cool idea, but in practice it would boil down to who's fifth gen can survive against the other to shred through the entire match with.
@@chilopodamancer except we've seen numerous times where gs has been shot down in the raptor against 4th Gen planes. While 5th Gen planes are dominant, it also depends on the type of fight. If it's guns only, there's a shot for a lot of different planes. If it's a Fox 3 bvr fight, no shot
