    I've lost 11 kgs since the end of october and you've been such a great inspiration! I've got 70kgs (150lbs) to lose in total so "only" 59 left to go! Can't wait to wear a dress this summer!! Thank you Carla for your insight, videos and kindness shining through xx

    ⛄️ 🎅🏻 A great reminder for this time of year! I went overboard on Thanksgiving (and the day after), and the scale jumped up a lot but I knew it wasn’t real weight and that’s so great to remember. However, it then can take me over a week to get back to losing again even though my eating is then back on point. I don’t know if that’s normal but I feel like your body gets out of fat burning mode or something. I feel like around the holidays it’s so easy to have “food FOMO”, thinking I gotta have this now or I won’t get again until next year… Well, so what? It’s not like you can never have it again? I started to take a step back when it comes to food FOMO…. Let’s say your significant other brings homes cookies and they look so good and you just know by having one it will throw you off. I think to myself, these are at the store all the time, they can be purchased again any time and there’s no need to eat them now because I can try them at some point but it DOESN’T NEED to be now. If it’s truly something you can never have again, then decide if it’s worth it to you, otherwise just know you can always get it at another time! Maybe that will help somebody. 😊

    Great list! I'm in the US and had my first vegan holiday last month for our Thanksgiving. I had one full plate of nutritious AND delicious food, with a couple indulgent items. It was somewhere between 700-800 calories and I enjoyed it very much without feeling overstuffed and full to bursting. And I didn't have the sugar crash I usually experienced. I was quite proud of myself and I'm looking forward to another holiday that I won't put food (re: sweets) at the center. Happy Holidays to everyone! 🎄🎉

    This highlights one of my big problems. I reward myself with high calorie junk food for being successful at giving this exact same junk up. Every time I lost a new tens place I would go to McDonald’s, eat pizza, eat chips (crisps), or even cans of frosting. I’m the same way when I go to special holiday (like Xmas & birthdays) & vacation events. I give myself a pass & eat everything I’ve given up. I look forward to it for ages. I still do it now. I’m going on vacation with my college friends & I KNOW I will drink too much, eat loads of bread & high calorie meals and then be faced with a 4-5 lb weight gain when I get home. I can’t stop it. It was a lot easier during COVID when I lost most of my weight & didn’t have these things happening. This is why I think I continue to struggle with these last 20lbs. I can’t stop it. You’re so disciplined.

    Carla I just found you and videos. I love the way you present weight loss and the journey. You deal realistically in why and how we overeat. I began Weight Watchers in the US and same as way you do your plan. 🤞🏻I can be successful. Have been in past and fell off wagon and was feeling shame. No more. I will focus on more than the weight now as you say. People and ourselves are what is important. Not just the food! Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!

    That last tip was very helpful Carla. Had our work Xmas dinner at the weekend, and I've felt yuk since. Going to skip the scales tomorrow, knowing how bloated I feel might translate to the scales and throw me off track . Thank you! ☃️

    Something that helped me through the Thanksgiving season was finding a new and special tea that I could make a cup of whenever I was tempted to eat or drink something that didn't align with my goals. Specifically it was the Good Earth Brand, Sweet and Spicy Tea. So good!

    Great advice! I was worried at Thanksgiving. But, I came through it unscathed. It was easier than I thought it was going to be, and I expect Christmas to be about the same.🎁☃️🎄

    Happy Birthday & Merry Christmas, Carla!! 🎉☃️ These are excellent tips. I’m also finding that I’m better able to manage myself around all of the holiday food now by thinking about how I’ll feel if I eat too much (in general or of certain things). I feel so much better physically when I indulge very selectively and carefully in the few things that I really enjoy the most.

    I am just able to view this video on Dec 26. I have had 2 bigger days of celebrations. I wish I had planned a bit better but now realize I didn’t do as much damage as I was starting to be too rough on myself about. Your wisdom has been SO helpful to me on my 60 lb weight loss journey this past year. I am so thankful for finding your channel.     My body is currently having an issue, I'm swollen and having so much joint pain! But I will soldier on, and follow some, if not ALL of ypur tips Carla, thank you Precious!
    3 Xmas 'do's' in the week mean that I've got to plan my fasting times and also be prepared to just not go if this inflammatory response I'm experiencing doesn't right itself!

    🦌Your advice is straightforward and makes good sense!. Xmas 1986 was my baby girl's first xmas. We never celebrated it again until 2018! ..it was in between these times that I gradually got fat. 32 years later when I got free* I slowly began to understand why I got obese and depressed! (I think the weight gain was a symptom of my depression) Thanks for your contribution to help others, your advice here is just what I/we need. My journey is slow due to health etc but the fat snow is thawing. I have been at it since June this year with the daily help of Myfitnesspal and advice from you and others. A question I have for you Carla: Should I record what I eat on myfitnesspal during my 'days off'? or would that be counter-productive, like weighing in after a few free days only to freak out? Thanks. P.S I was a member of a religious, mind controlling cult for all of those 32 years. My baby girl who is now 37 has had nothing to do with me since 2019. I am being shunned because I left. This year, will be the first time since 1986 that I will be with people on Xmas day. I am determined not to screw this up. 🎄

    Interesting advice.... BUT... I don't get the "grounded" bit.... And definitely not the "my adult self escaped and the trauma child made the decision to eat??? What's that all about? Surely it's YOU that makes that decision about what to eat.... I really think this is crazy thinking
