    So we perform just a polish on this crank. A regrind is a different process. th-cam.com/video/uqCzREub68k/w-d-xo.html Porsche goes down .25 for each undersize. But you can no longer get bearings for third under, .75 so there is no point going there. Hope you enjoyed the premiere. Hope to see you live next week.

    Is this to increase bearing lifespan?Or perhaps for better oiling? Another great video! Thanks.

      It is because we dont want to a new bearing against a used crank pin. The polishing knocks down any small imperfections on the journal's that could damage the new bearings.

    Nitriting can increase journal size to save a crankshaft if the crank is on the low end of tolerance specification.

      It can, but is more expensive. When bearings become more of an issue then maybe it will be a more viable solution.
