Very nice way to reuse the oil barrels!

Great invention and video. Thanks. I see you used the natural groove in the tank, to cut the holes. If I may, what height are the holes, and do you find it ideal? Thank you.

Thanks. About 20cm from the ground to the bottom of the hole. The hole itself was about 10cm large. Yes, this size is ideal.

@@parccarreg, sincere thanks. I haven't watched to that point yet, but I saw the headlines of your more recent videos. I'm sorry to hear your bad news and hope you got it sorted.

@@BrentNye Thanks, appreciate it. We are doing OK all things considered. I do plan to do a little update video soon, just to keep everyone updated. We will be continuing to experiment on the farm.

@chaoticdriver I am thinking the same the smaller 200L blue barrels
To make it look nice and MUUUUUCH more enviromentally friendly .....
Wooden whisky or wine barrels (leave the residue it will slow marinate them from the inside)

The idea is great, but using plastic that is not food grade and toxin free. In addition to the oil residue micro particles , so if you use another plastic product, and change it over time , it is healthier for a healthy eggs snd meat!

I too worry about chemicals, but finding a perfect solution is not always practical. These tanks are made from MDPE or HDPE - both of which are considered safe for storing and transporting water. The oil residue is a problem, but I wash them very thoroughly until there is no sign of oil and zero smell. If you use the right soap and spend enough time cleaning - I'd say you can do a good enough job.

And the "poluting" tank would be waste ans a possible "new" plastic" tank be made with its by products.... Yes ... or to quot Homer Simpson "Doh"
