We feed our laying ducks at 7.30am and keep them in their house and yard until 11am, we then let them out and feed them in their house and yard at about 6.30pm. They seem to come in well and if some seem to be missing, I find I can do a good imitation quack which they answer and come to. In winter we get them in earlier as otherwise they will 'settle down' for the night without eating all their feed, which will encourage rodents.
I worry about the rodents! But I have tried your way with just a bit of snack just to be shure they will clean everything up and it works! One hour in advance they quack to go inside 😂❤
I could happily watch those ducks run in a line all day, it's just so good 😍
