It's always such a pleasure working with others who have about the same level of experience and knowledge about the work being done. You and John seem to mesh very well. I had the pleasure of working with one of my best friends for nearly 35 years doing framing, drywall, interior/exterior trim, roofing... you name it. We even cut and cored concrete as co-owners. We could work for hours without saying a word to each other if we wanted because we could almost read each others mind.
The Yanmar seems like such a smooth, quiet, and quick machine, like it would just be a pleasure to operate. Then again, Chris can make any machine look smooth...
Right before you said it, I was thinking, is there anything they didn't try on this one, bags of sackcrete stacked and anchored with rebar, geo-tex, rubber roofing and rip rap. Bout the only thing I didn't see was the old mine belt trick.🤣 Nice job on the new overflow!👍🏼
Great job! You are one experienced operator, and you and John work so well together. I have never seen so much rock on an overflow, another project well done! God's blessings to you and be safe. Thank u so much for video.
Different dam construction this time with lots of rock in the wall it seemed. Still nice repair and upgrade. Owner lucky to have such a big harvest of water runoff. As always, keep safe
Not one better team to fix a hodge podge of a cluster than your operation, makes for great entertainment. Thanks. Dang that pond water looks very warm.
Fabulous job Chris. What the customer says they want, you also come through to make it work. Guessing you and John picked up the contract to heighten the pond dam to accommodate the raised overflows.
As a fairly new excavator hand as in 5k hours, much more on a backhoe. I watch your videos every day to learn but I would love to pick your brain on why you do exactly what your doing without sounding like a tool. I get the end goal and method but the way your traverse different situations is awesome. Im pretty good at not "painting myself in a corner" but damn your good bro.
Man, I'm surprised, that those old pipes didn't totally wash out a long time ago, with all that rip Rap that was all the way threw it !! You got it laid back in there really nice Chris !! As you always do, and turned out really nice !! It's not only the building process but, the finish too is what I like to see myself !! lolol.... It's That OCD thing !! lolol.. You know all to well about that, don't ya Chris !! Yeah, I got it too Man !! lolol...lololol... Well, another work week down Man !! Now on to the weekend work...lolol... Never ends does it Chris !! lolol.. Have a Great weekend, and Evening Chris !! And, On too the Next !!
I think they put everything in that trench for the old flow pipe but the kitchen sink to fill it up. I got wondering why you kept filling that trench in so much and then came the explanation as to what was happening, awe what patience will do for the inquiring mind!!!🙄 thanks for the explanation. Thanks for the ride along sir.
Once again, good job ! Despite that unplaisant surprise, finding all that rock all arond the old pipe ! As soon as I thought, huuum, John could use the skid and scrape the clay closer to you, he jumps in and do it ! 😳
Well that was some serious gravel they had around the original pipe 😳😱. Makes it a little more challenging to dig the old out 🫤 Well this pond filled up quick Looks good 👍👍
When the machine is struggling with something does anyone else’s foot push down, lift up, or twitch a little? No?.. just me? Okay 🤦♀️🤷♀️ it’s like I’m subconsciously trying to help him 😂🤣😂
Lol! I do too! I’ve operated a mini excavator similar to Chris’s Yanmar, and I can feel it rock every time he hooks into something that doesn’t want to move! With his years of experience, he pushes it to the edge safely, and I never got enough experience with the one I operated to know where the limit was! So yeah my feet push on the floor every time he starts rocking! 🤣🤣🤣
Considering the condition of the area that they put in the overflow in, I would wonder what the rest of the dam looks like. Looks to me like they didn't know what they were doing when they built it. I hope they hire you to fix the rest of the dam for them.
Man you have inspired me to become a excavator operator I’ve been operating for a few years now and I also deal with pond management it would be nice to pic your brain for knowledge
Another good job showing views what a "I can do it cheaper and use some left over pipe "all patched together. Owner wants pond higher - so you can come back and take out the trees on the other side that might get roots submerged.
Have you ever tried or know anyone who has tried expanding foam to replace concrete for your anti seep collars or sealing joints on your overflows? They use this stuff for setting posts, plugging vertical mine shafts, insulation, and so on. Just wondering if this would work and save money, while still doing the same job? It would expand and seal to plastic culverts quite well and completely fill any void you put it in. It sets up faster than concrete, replaces concrete in many other applications and should last just as long underground.
Great video, when you were pulling that pipe out, looked like whoever just laid the pipes in covered it up with all kinds of fill, rocks, big rocks, maybe a plastic diaper in extra large size.customer should be happy but too achieve his final goal for the road, that’s gonna take quite a bit of work, before it comes up to be ready for final useage.good video, keep it up.👍👍👍😎😎😎
And this is where stashing some good clay would have come in handy. That Yanmar is still so smooth in operation.be advised you'll have a good storm rolling in in the near future
Ive seen in the past where they create a wall or embankment by stacking up bags of quikcrete and letting it set up over time. All those rocks you pulled from that edge looks just like concrete bags
A stream washed out 4' under my mother's retaining wall. We packed empty sandbags with dry concrete mix & dropped them in the stream before shoving them tight together under the wall & garden. Been there 15 years now & no further problems.
@@GARDENER42 If you search YT for "Comal River beyond last public exit" and look about 10 seconds in, those entire walls on that stair way are built entirely from dry bag concrete. Huge!
Chris are you still liking the compaction wheel now that you have some time using it? Which do you feel would work better between it and jumping jack backfilling ditches for electric lines?
Boy, people sure spend alot of time and money on these ponds, are they required when you live in the south??? Great work as always Chris, keep the videos coming!!
Oh man, do I ever love a culvert repair or pipe replacement video. So simple and straightforward
It's always such a pleasure working with others who have about the same level of experience and knowledge about the work being done. You and John seem to mesh very well. Love overflow pipe replacements. Almost understand the whole process!! You are a good teacher!! and operator.
Man that looks a whole lot better . Never doubted that it wouldn’t .
Always enjoy watching when pipes or ditches are flowing water, So mesmerizing !!
What a total beautiful piece of maintained property that needed Chris' attention to detail
Chris and John great video! Sure was a mess when you first started, but you turned it into another work of art! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
The Yanmar seems like such a smooth, quiet, and quick machine, like it would just be a pleasure to operate. Then again, Chris can make any machine look smooth...
This video is one of my favorites! I love the sound of the rocks being moved and when you have insert pipes.... relaxing video!
Thank you for answering my question I never see the cement being put in so did not know that thank you enjoy watching so much

This guy doesn’t waste a move. If that excavator is moving it’s doing work. Extremely efficient operator!
Glad to see that you have your other great helper with you sometime you need to interview John if you haven't already love watching your work
John is a good ground guy, and a pretty good operator as well.
Great job you got it put in just in time for the rain Looks great Always a joy to watch
Always like your lake overflow repair videos !! Great job always !!
these are my favorite ones, when you fix the problem! I love drainage work!
Must be one heck of a flow through that pond to overwhelm one 36" pipe.
Two 36" will take some beating.
Yeah, it’s a little pond, there must a lot draining into it… Chris said 1,000 acres.
Great job! You are one experienced operator, and you and John work so well together. I have never seen so much rock on an overflow, another project well done! God's blessings to you and be safe. Thank u so much for video.
Oh man, that was a hot mess. Great repair Chris. Take care & cheers 🐨🦘🥰
Love how you place the riprap and then pat it in to tighten and make neat and tidy just amazing and neatly done ! Great job!
The old pipe was certainly a shemozzle and the new is splendid. Great example on how to remove and replace an overflow pipe.
I love the way u work - always so clean, neat & tidy 😍😊
Different dam construction this time with lots of rock in the wall it seemed. Still nice repair and upgrade. Owner lucky to have such a big harvest of water runoff. As always, keep safe
Tell ya what Chris, I really enjoy seeing your work and seeing the finished project. Its truly an art to produce a quality end product.
Yall done a great job fixing that mess. Congrats well done.
Chris & John ...Great work ....Alway's a pleasure to watch your fantastic video's...Keep up the fantastic work! 💯💯😎😎
Nice job guys another perfect job finished by LETSDIG18 crew 👍😎
Not one better team to fix a hodge podge of a cluster than your operation, makes for great entertainment. Thanks. Dang that pond water looks very warm.
That's a lovely little pond. Nicely cut lawn all around it. Beautiful
That horse on the other side seemed mesmerized by it.
You and John are an awesome team. Great job.
Fabulous job Chris. What the customer says they want, you also come through to make it work. Guessing you and John picked up the contract to heighten the pond dam to accommodate the raised overflows.
Chris that was a incredible done job well done ,great video.great video
I got a chuckle out of the time traveler edit. You do amazing work and I look forward to watching your videos.
Tusen takk for videoen. Du gjør en god jobb. 👍🤗👍🇸🇯
Very good video. The pond looks like it is at the perfect level.
Nice job guys. Very tidy looking outcome. Be well.😉
Looks like some "Bealy" good clay! Thanks for the video!
Chris your work always looks great 🇺🇲 I really appreciate the information from your videos 🇺🇲

I'd put it down to years of experience! It kind of becomes second nature when you've been at it most of you're life!
analyse - where how when - do it!
but you're right to ask! Chris is a 'master'!
Is this DP?
You don't get dizzy swinging around on the excavator, lol.
Great overflow replacement and pretested what more could you ask for great job and great video Chris and John thanks

Chris, another great video, and your experience shows though on this one, Thank you for sharing..
Nice job and nice looking pond.

John is as good as Chris on the machines and they have worked together for a long time, it's little details like this that show it.
They both read each other’s mind 😊
That's when they click
There was another nice little job. Didn't take long. Should do the trick. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
Well that was some serious gravel they had around the original pipe 😳😱. Makes it a little more challenging to dig the old out 🫤
Well this pond filled up quick
Looks good 👍👍
Good job done. They were pretty close to a French drain around the old pipe. Do like the little island. Thank you for your time and talent.
I do like the cab top camera position - really can see just what is being done.
This is another cool repair and the dual pipes should give you more redundancy incase of flash storm and enjoy your evening.
Nicely done, from so cal...now a subscriber
Nice you and john working and getting done nice job
I ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO CHRIS 😊
Sharp looking results!!

nice looking place pond and awsome work on the pond. cheers.
Holy cow that was SUCH a mess!! Thank heavens they got the "Pond King" to do the fix!!!!
Uncle Johns got everything under control
Best team ever

Another great job, well narration. You have 1st class assistant there with John.
That’s his uncle. The owner of the company.
Wait! If you cut a 30 inch pipe in half doesn't that give you a 15inch pipe? 🤣😎🤔 I simply LOVE watching you videos Chris!
Man you have inspired me to become a excavator operator I’ve been operating for a few years now and I also deal with pond management it would be nice to pic your brain for knowledge
I love these videos! Wish I could do this for a living.
Another day, another dollar. Hope you have a good weekend.
Nice work Chris! 👍🏻

Nice looking job Chris!
Great job Chris 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for this video. The 36 inch pipe must be strong because they held the excavator's weight without much coverage.
$$$
Looks good and raising the pond level is a plus also
Uncle John looks like he’s doing better, hope it stays that way! lol
Banana Yanmar, Yeay! 😃
Seems like a really pretty area.
This is the video you show people when they think your bid is too high. “You want it done or do you want it done right”? Lol…nice job guys!👍🏻
Gorgeous orange soil!

Technical diging, very satisfiying.

Chris, you do great work!!!
My god, how were they thinking this amount of rock in the dam and around the metal pipe would hold back any water... Good thing they hired you! :)
I was just thinking the same thing.
Nice job bro, well looks good from here anyway. Safe travels
I really like and appreciate this video

The good old quick fix. Always makes the real fix more time consuming.
Unless it works, of course. It's temporary, unless it works.
@@fredygump5578 well when water will flow threw stone not a good fix
nice work chris
That's a serious amount of stone you are removing! What's with the rebar? Overflow working and looks great. Nice job Chris
You just don’t know what you will find when digging pipes out. Good job, thanks for sharing.
Great video 👍 👍
Boy, people sure spend alot of time and money on these ponds, are they required when you live in the south??? Great work as always Chris, keep the videos coming!!
