Thanks for this video. Only one i can find that shows you can remove the intake manifold without having to lift the cab or remove the coolant hose. Thats what i wanted to know before starting on my engine.

First of all, thank you very much for your wonderful comment and thank you for watching the video. I really appreciate that. And I would like say that when it comes to removing those intake manifolds from the V10 in these 94 to 2002 believe it is Dodge trucks that particular body style. Something to be aware of is if the front cab mounts have failed or there's been some sort of collision impact or the frame is bent. That's something to be aware of and something to make sure you pay attention to and like in the video. I was mentioning the bolts. When you take the intake out or you put it back in. Make sure to hold the bolts up somehow. Use some little clamps or rubber bands, even small pairs of vise grips anything to hold those bolts in place because as you saw in the video and as you probably figured out once you get then take off. Once you get the bolts loose you have to leave the some of the bolts in there until you get to intake out off of the engine completely. So anyway I'm answering you your comments on Christmas and I just would like to say thank you very much and have yourself a wonderful Christmas. God bless

I got that same hole full of corrosion? What gives?

First of all, I want to say thank you very much for watching the video. I really appreciate it and thank you for your comments. To answer your question about that, the intake manifold that particular hole in the intake manifold gets plugged up with rust. The reason why is if you will look at your hood where the hood meets the cowl panel, that's the panel where the windshield wipers are at at the base of the windshield. If you'll look right there, there should be a gasket that runs all the way back and forth across right there. If there's not a gasket right there. If yours is missing or if it's torn and it's allowing water to come in right there, that is most likely what's causing that. However, the gasket can also be hard and brittle and leaking water down onto the intake manifold in that area where that bolt hole is and then the water has really nowhere to go so it eventually it will dry up but as it's drying up it's creating rust in that hole and again that rust has nowhere to go either so it just stays there so in order to prevent that in the future, make sure and check The gasket that sits right there on the hood like I was talking about it actually attaches to the cowl panel when it is attached there, it should come up and meet the hood and it also acts like a dam that keeps the water out of the engine bay from the water that runs down the hood and down across the cow panel and it meets that gasket. If yours is missing one, you might be able to get one from like a salvage yard or LMC trucks. However you say the bolt is rusted in that hole very badly. You're going to probably need to replace the bolt. I don't recall the measurement on how long that bolt is. However, just take your old one and probably your best bet is to go to either an auto parts store or a really good hardware store and find the correct length and thread of bolt. Granted. You probably won't get exactly the same length, but if you get really close you may have to use an extra washer. Be sure to go back with some anti-seize on the threads. Whether that anti-seize is aluminum or copper variety. Either one works just fine if you need any more information about this or anything else let me know. Thank you for watching

Also, I forgot to mention the reason why you would want to change that intake manifold bolt is because it's gotten a lot of rust on it and corrosion and that can compromise the strength of that bolt also you need to clean that hole out where the bolt is at two. I know these things both are very obvious to most people but I will cover the obvious so that somebody isn't coming back and say hey you didn't do this or you didn't say this. There you go All right. Thank you again. Have a great one
