This is amazing, you took a childhood favorite of mine and put a whole other energy to it! Still one of the best RPGs ever, played the hell out of this game, I'd pause it and leave tracks like this one on for repeat 😊

I can't believe those puffed up dorks at OCRemix shot this down. I've been coming back to this mix periodically for at least a decade now and I'm still mad every time I think of that rejection letter. Oh, never mind that you reframed the musicality by shifting melodies down to a twinkle in the background as the droning harmonies took center stage, never mind the syncopated drops and rhythm disruptions, no no, the verse structure is still pretty much the same, so it's a no. Losers wouldn't know a work of art if you snuck it into the farts they were busing huffing instead of learning what they were talking about.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the remix! Thanks for the comment :) As for OCR, I think they liked it too. I remember being disappointed when they decided not to post it, but it seemed like they enjoyed it and just didn't feel it was a fit for the sort of content they wanted to host at the time (I think the content they allow now has changed since then). All good, I wound up subbing it to VG Mix instead. Too bad they aren't around anymore though 😟
Now that I have this channel, I can release stuff as I finish it and don't have to worry about stuff like passing an evaluation process or the possibility that the website that's hosting it going down. Going forward all my new remixes will be posted here and I'll probably still submit the occasional track to OCR or other similar communities if it feels right!
its too similar to the original the way OCremix works to my knowledge is it has to be a remix and not sound exactly like the original you gotta have new instrumentation and a different genre
