    Guys, 100% worth it for the aesthetic. Plus all the black attachments, faucets etc, it looks very modern, and relaxing.

    I can confirm that Ecoflor based out of Australia have a DIY mirco cement kit that is holding up amazingly in my sprinter :) However, i would say that i couldn't agree with you guys more about the labour intensity of using a product like this, its not for the faint of heart to say the least. Also my only issue was too where two pieces of wood joined. I brought up my concern before my installation and Ecoflor instructed me to use fiberglass and epoxy to reinforce my seems, this actually has been 100% efficient through all kinds of roadtrips and rough terrain :)

      I started my second van build right after you guys began to share yours and fell in love with your layout! In alot of ways i have taken so much inspiration from y'all, so thank you :) I just have my shower to finish and she'll be complete, i've been traveling in her 3/4 down for the past few months haha.

      Thanks for the insights! I think it's really the same idea with the Smartcret... Fiberglass epoxy the seams, or don't try to cover them haha.

    Thank you both for taking the time to do this tutorial. I’ve looked and there is very little on line to do with vans so you answered all of the questions I had. Thanks so much! Glad it was helpful. Most of our concerns won't be relevant for a house, so in my opinion it's a great option for that! We are trying another product now too called Concretta FS from Meoded. Might be worth looking into as well, much easier application process.

    Thank you for your Smart-crete tutorial. Your van is beautiful. How do you find the surfaces for cleaning? Sinks & countertops need daily cleaning & occasional scrubbing. Does the surface hold up? Would you recommend a different sheen for those high use surfaces? Thanks again!

    • @nicoleandedden
      @nicoleandedden  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! The surface is super smooth and very easy to clean. We haven't experienced any issues with that. We definitely recommend the industrial strength sealant that we provided a link for in the description, it is necessary for high use areas for sure

    Stellar content, this is why the gods gave us the internet. Do you happen to know the finished weight of the product installed cured and finished? Like per square foot or meter? Obviously not a well documented spec for a product meant to be used in a house. Likewise do you know about UV resistance? Shouldn't matter inside, but I'm thinking of maybe a roof deck or something similar?

    • @nicoleandedden
      @nicoleandedden  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Haha thanks!
      I don't have an exact measurement in terms of the weight, it will also depend on how you apply it (thicker or thinner). But as an estimate, I would consider it about 30% of the weight of the plywood we applied it too (we were using 1/2" baltic birch plywood).
      Not sure how helpful that will be to you, sorry! But we don't have another unit of measurement.
      Also I think it's completely UV resistant, as it's meant for outdoor use as well. But I would confirm that with them as well.
      Good luck!

    • @MrJhchrist
      @MrJhchrist 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nicoleandedden Thanks, I'm gonna call that .45 pounds per square foot for now. Cheers.

    Curious about painting the walls before installing them like you mentioned - how would you suggest covering the screws? Are you able to cover it with micro cement or does that mess it up with the layering? Thank you!!

    • @nicoleandedden
      @nicoleandedden  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As long as the screws are flush or slightly inset, then its totally invisible under the micro-cement!

    Really want your thoughts. Would you consider the Brightdrop electric van for campervan build? Longer range than E-Sprinter.

    • @nicoleandedden
      @nicoleandedden  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We're dyinggg to do an e-van. But even with the longer range I don't think it's enough yet when you consider how much these build outs weigh and the actual usable range you'll have while trying to travel long distances

    • @nicoleandedden
      @nicoleandedden  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Will do. I posted the link to the product itself in the description. I think it's just a matter of emailing/calling and ordering it from them. That's what we did and they were ok it with.

    Which did you buy? The site has for tile ot plastic surfaces.

    • @nicoleandedden
      @nicoleandedden  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The determining factor is if you're putting it over an absorbant surface (like wood), or a non absorbant surface (like tile, metal, etc). We use absorbant surface for most of the van

    Van is a dream!! 👏👏 However, it is not clear from your intro what is actually that cement material. Since it was vague, it leads me to conclusion that material is plastic based, therefore very questionable environment. It is not my fild, so I could be wrong. Anyway, Kudos for your fantastic creation!

      For details on the composition of the material itself, you would need to talk to an engineer from the company. They're called Smartcret. All that mattered to us what how it holds up, and it does. So not sure it matters what it's made of

    Great informative videos, I keep watching them! On that note, the music is super annyoning and tiring. It doesn't even match your artistic qualities. If you use music, at least put some real music, instrumental, not this cheap artificial electro computer nonsense. This feels like piece of plastic in wild nature. Also, pronounced beats are not a good idea as a background for speech.
