I appreciate you going through the deep dive. Don't pay attention to anyone commenting on the quality of your work. You seem pretty sharp. I'm sure you see all your mistakes and maybe have ideas for how you would do it differently next time. You sharing your process was generous and may have helped me and many others from our own mistakes. Thanks!
Thanks bro. Yes, Before I created this video, I already finished 2 bathrooms. I know which part can be challenging. I think most people fail on micro because of the product (brand). The application is easy but it takes patients. Which country are you from?
Thank you for this! ❤️❤️❤️ I can't stop watching your videos
Glad you enjoy it!
Absolutely brilliant video Gabriel 👍
Many thanks and God bless you ❤
Welcome bro! Thanks for watching also 😎
Wow, great video and lots of tips. Thank you. I'm looking for ways to change the look of my tile bathroom and am considering this so this helps me a lot.
Glory be to Jesus. I hope you have considered Him as well 😎
Great video, thank you for uploading it.
Welcome. I’m glad you enjoyed 😎
A very well done video.
This is so helpful, thank you Gabriel!
Welcome. Glory be to my sponsor: Jesus 😎
I absolutely love your sponsor ! Big fan ❤
Same! I'm lucky to have our Sponsor. He was also the sponsor of my latest video 😎
Thank you for the tutorial
Welcome. Thanks to my sponsor also (Jesus) 😎
Great work Gabriel 😊
Thanks man. Good luck on your renovations!
Your cat happy too😂😂❤️❤️❤️its amazing nice finishing and clean
Yes 😸
Bambim always shows up in my videos randomly. See if you can find her 🤭
Great ❤
nicely done
Thanks man
Thanks man for this guide. I will be renovating my bathroom after this tutorial, you seem have nailed it :)
All be the glory to God. Yes this was a successful project. I’m glad you like it. I hope your project will be successful to 😎
Thanks ! I’m gonna take my time to go over the videos and start in April. I’ve never done anything like this before and just bought an apartment that’s renovated, everything except the bathroom 😅
I might have some questions along the way , hope you’ll find time to answer 😅
@thinkaroid7000 that will be exciting. Cemento.no also sells good quality microcement. I have a renovation timelapse also and other microcement video 😎
@thinkaroid7000 congrats! I’m happy for you. That will be an interesting project.
Before the project: just make sure that everything is dry and clean and check if you need the help of a plumber. Just rewatch my step by step and my other video with timelapse and I think you’ll be ok. That project took me 3 weeks to finish. So shower is not allowed 😎
Good luck and God bless your project ☺️
very good
Very nice!
thanks 😎
Smooth
Love it. I hope I can get this in the US…
You have it there but the quality here around Europe is much better based on the feedback from people who applied it there in US
You can also use a sponge while the medium is still moist to even out.
I understand what you mean but we don’t use sponge in microcement like the usual cement. We just sand it with sandpaper to even out.
is there any special waterproofing process around the drain during/before application?
Sponsored by Jesus! Love it!
Yeah! Thanks 😎
Thanks Gabriel, great tutorial. I am building a new shower and wonder what I should use under the shower tray since there are no tiles, any idea ?
Not professional advice just my opinion: use microcement with the entire process of application and then put over the shower tray. 😎
Love it. I have been look for tutorials. I’m from Finland. Is it waterproof if I just use stuff from the kit? How long did it take you?
Yo Jake. Yes, the kit has waterproof included.
If you will do it for the first time, it takes 2 - 3 weeks. It depends on the size and surface.
Hi! Thanks for the video. I'm trying to microcement over my fireplace on top of the existing tiles. I'm wondering why you use tile adhesive to fill the gaps rather than tile filler or grout. Could you help me understand?
Two things
1. Tile adhessive was recommended by the distributor.
2. Tile adhessive creates a strong bond between tile and surface. In addition: Will provide a good solid base for the primer and base cement.
I love this video. What did you use to paint your cabinet and plumbing?
For the cabinets and plumbing.. is floor paint. So it can tolerate some moisture and scratch. Still works today. I recommend it 😎
@@DIYwithGabriel The kit you are using, I can't find it in the U.S. Do you know if it's available here?
@@aishahsoun1566 You can try to order from my link in Europe and check if they deliver in the U.S. This microcement kit has good quality.
How do you clean it? What's the drying time? Cost as well? What product did you use? I live in NL and would love to do this to my bathrooms 🫣
I have the links for the products and supplies in the description.
Clean with some soap and clean clothe.
Drying time depends. I just usually wait 1 day just to be sure but depends on the product and how much you applied. Good luck 😎
That looks amazing!! Where do you get that product from ?
I have links on my description for Europe. Where are you currently living?
first water - then add the powder
Is when u said Jesus I press the subscription one time
Thanks man. Glory be to Jesus
Valeu moleke
Super work, however it seems a little bit to rough for my style … great job
Thanks. Glory be to God. Yes, you can adjust the roughness. But when you apply the sealer it will feel smoother even though the texture looks rough. 😎
👍🏼
Thank you, Jesus, I found you!!!! 😇🙏🏻✝️
Thank Jesus, He found us 😎
Please help me where can I get a kit to do it for my bathroom?thank
Which country are you from? I have links for Scandinavia and Europe.
You don't need to prime the tiles prior to start?
And are you using tile glue in beginning ?
Tile paste first between the tile gaps to make the surface flat and then primer before applying 1st coat of base cement.
Hi, how’s your bathroom so far , did any of microcement detached from the tile? Do you have any problems with it?
Thinking about revamping my bathroom like this but kinda scared of potential risks
I had mine in 2021 and I didn’t have any problems with it. I sold that apartment this year. We got multiple offers and got a higher selling price. All the glory to God
So there is no need to put net under the cement if you are covering it over tiles?
On this product yes, no need for net.
Use net when there’s a gap or unstable surface.
After applying the sealer XS-327 as a prime coat and it dried in 12 hours, I noticed the concrete change color. The concrete was darker in some areas while normal in the other, creating a patchy look. Any suggestions on how to fix this so it's not blotchy?
Which product did you use?
@@DIYwithGabriel surecrete XS-327 🙏🏻
@lalwani07 Ah ok. I used a different product. I don’t know how to fix that but have you tried to use other types of sealer?
You applied tile adhesive without first priming the tiles? It didn't come off?
Yes & No. Tile adhesive only between tiles to level the surface. Then primer over the tiles.
Yes, it didn’t came off. I have it in both of my old and new apartment. Still works 😎
Is this the same as tadelakt?
No, tadelakt has a good design but microcement is more durable for bathroom (including the floor).
Can I ask what bead you used on the corner
Corner plaster bead for drywall (flexible not metal). It worked for both of the bathroom but I’m not a professional or licensed carpenter/contructor. So best to ask them. This is based on my own experience 😎
@@DIYwithGabriel I spray plaster and use plastic and paper corner beads just looking at what works It’s a diy microcememt job on my own bathroom
But thanks for the info
Yes exactly paper plaster bead corner (not the metal). I did it in both of my bathrooms and it still works today. Thanks man for this question. This will help others 😎
After applying the sealer, is the floor slippery?
No, I used matte sealer on this. In my other video you can check. I used there between matte & glossy. That is smoother but still not slippery
Awesome, thanks @@DIYwithGabriel
How long took you from beginning to finish?
My 1st bathroom with no experience was 3 weeks (without changing sink). Which country are you from?
u cant use brush to clean?
No. Usually it’s enough to use only mild soap with sponge or soft clothe because brush might damage the protection from the sealer
where to Buy in Canada?
You guys don’t have the same product. I only have links in Europe and Scandinavia
What's the shower faucet you are using? Who makes it?
Not sponsored: Celeste is the brand 😎
@@DIYwithGabriel can't find it : (
I think it’s only available in Norway or Scandinavia. Which country are you from?
Hey Gabriel, thank you so much for this video.
I have a genuine question.
I plan to have a floating vanity counter top in the kitchen and thus most of it uses an L brackets to hold the top.
My question is,
1. Should I microcement the surface first, then drill through the cement using the recommended drill bit(Glass bit) and then place the L brackets on to of the microcement layer? If so, would this method crack the microcement?
2. Should I drill through the tiles first and then place the L brackets in on top of the tiles? .then continue with the microcement journey? If so, would this crack the tile?
It's a super long question and I know you arent a professional. But just wants your friendly opinion and or advice.
Wow! That's an exciting project. Update me later 🙂
My friendly opinion since I'm not a professional
Question
1. Should I drill through the tiles first and then place the L brackets on top of the tiles? .then continue with the microcement journey? If so, would this crack the tile?
Answer
- You can do one or the other. The important thing is to use the correct equipment (glass drill/tile drill bit). If you apply the correct steps, I think it won't crack as long as the material under is stable and secure.
Question
2. Should I drill through the tiles first and then place the L brackets in on top of the tiles? .then continue with the microcement journey? If so, would this crack the tile?
Answer
- You can do what fits your style. My friendly opinion is it won't crack the tile as long as the base of the tile is strong and secure. If the tiles under were placed correctly and have a good base under. Then the chance of breaking will be low.
Good luck and God bless
It's nice stuff with great light colors.
Pity you didn't made the effort to put the piping into the walls, would have been a lot nicer ...
Where we live it’s not allowed for me to fix pipes. We need a plumber to do that but that’s actually a good recommendation. The bathroom will be nicer. Thanks 😎

is there any special waterproofing process around the drain during/before application?
Yes, apply waterproof after applying microcement. If you don’t have tiles around the drain or your waterproof is damaged, then you need to apply waterproof before application.
do you need to raise the drain to make way for the new elevation of the floor? i’m assuming the micro cement ends up being like 1/8”-1/4” thick on the shower floor, no?
No, I just laid up the new drain over the old drain and then I applied the base cement as thick as the new drain.
When you are on the last application of microcement try to put some amount over the new drain so that the water will flow naturally.
You can try to watch my video around that part to see what I mean. If you have more questions, just ask me again later.
