    I bought a bunch of the 2.5x10 Tasco varmint last year for $24.99 on Amazon. I have put a good 2500 plus pellets through my Walther Talon Nitro magnum 22 cal. It’s still bright, crystal clear, and has never lost its zero once. I pulled my gun out yesterday and hit a pop can at 120 yards my first try with the 2nd mil dot down. She’s a keeper!

      All of mine are holding up great. They really do make a good scope especially for us airgunners. So happy I found them. That's an awesome shot at 120 yards 👏 👌 Thanks for watching the video. I do appreciate it!

      @@bigjsoutdoorsairguns9007 which one is your favorite? I was thinking of trying a 4x since they can still be had for $40. I was thinking for my 522 speedmaster and anshulz woodchucker. 22lr for close up squirrel hunting. It's either that or I was going to try the 2x7 rimfire tascos. I read the rimfire had some bad reviews though.

    I tried a gazillion scopes on my break barrels and nothing worked except the tasco bucksight 3-9x40 $29.99. I have 3 of them on 3 air rifles including the hatsan 125. All still holding up!

    Hay J! First State and Macabespeed pointed me in your direction! Nice "regular" air rifle reviews, GREAT STUFF! It's awesome you did a budget scope video review! It is definitely an area most air gun channels ignore for some reason? So it has been over one month is the scope still holding! I'm looking at a new Magnum break barrel so a new scope is vital! Thanks for the info! Keep it going brother!

      Thanks for the compliments man. I try to center my videos around the regular stuff that most of us regular dudes are shooting. The optic thing does seem to be kind of an overlooked or ignored is probably a better definition. The Tasco scopes are holding tough! I love mine.

    I gambled on the 40 ao. I remembered the Tasco name. Glad i got one. For $140 more you might get one with mildots, but i rather have more scopes like these for much less money. Like Yamaha, how do they do this for this price! (I use yamaha and peavey electronics, also great buys). I shoot fine without mildots. Dime groups 20 yards with 1377 + stock, jsb's.

    Hello, good video, I am also impressed, I have a spring loaded BSA LIGHTNING XL 5.5, several scopes have broken, HAWKE VANTAGE 4-12X40 AO, it was the last one, it lasted more or less three hundred shots, now I am trying out a LEAPERS UTG 3- 9X40 MIL DOT TF2, here in Portugal it is sold as scope for magnum rifles, I don't like the optical quality, I liked this Tasco and the price, all the best, cheers.

      @bigjsoutdoorsairguns9007  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know those UTG's are supposed to be pretty good. I have one on a Hatsan 125 .25 Springer that I recently bought used but I haven't gotten to shot it hardly at all yet. These Tasco's seem to be pretty good so far. Hoping they hold up. Thanks for watching. I do appreciate it.

    Excellent Review!!! That is awesome brother! I was looking at the 3-9×40 and decided not to because I didn't find much info for my liking on it. Now I am seriously considering getting it! Thank you for all the hard work and great content! 😁

  • @geeder9086
    @geeder9086 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That Hatsan probably wound up in the pawnshop because whoever the owner was couldn't handle the cocking effort -- it's not for everyone. But I don't mind the 33# pull to cock my Ruger (by Umarex). I got the Tasco 2-7 x32 for $65 from Midway when they had a free shipping & discount day. The optics are so much clearer than the OEM Ruger 4x32 -- that scope had a kind of sepia tone to everything, and it was nearly useless at sundown. The Tasco makes me realize ho much light and how much blue was missing -- and the squirrels hate it!

    I just learned something Big J. Some scope hinged lense caps take up some of the sight picture. After removing the cap, the objective lense is effectively bigger with some caps, but not all.

    Bought another Tasco 3-9 x 40mm AO for my new Beeman Mantis 10616 magnum 177 break barrel. Scope is working great, and that gun has some kick! Shoots RWS Superdome 8.3 gr, 1,000 fps, gets 0.3" group at 30 yards. The scope has just enough power to sight the gun at that distance. Still use both scopes. No problems, no drift. Very pleased but not surprised. Tasco is good stuff.

    • @peterbaugh51
      @peterbaugh51 ปีที่แล้ว

      Note about the reticle, it is a truplex. I dont need mildots with my gun. You might with yours. At 60 yards, starting 1,024 fps, the drop at target is 3" with Crosman 7.9 Hollowpoints. A tree rat target is 4", so my holdover is only 1". Target is hit in 0.2 seconds. This is as far as I will ever shoot small game. So for me, mildots are useless. 177 cal is very fast, very flat. Get the gear you need to get the job done. Never waste money on bells and whistles. I am still very impressed with the Tasco Air scopes. Both I own still work after using on magnum springers. Happy shootin!

    Hi. I just purchased a Hatsan 95 Vortex in the 22 cal. So I will be fine with a Tasco air 3-9 x 40? Asking, because I had a Whisper Fusion Mach 1 and my other Tasco Air 2-7 x 32, wouldn't hold zero with my Gamo. Thanks

    Dunno much about scopes. But I once did win on a giveaway a basic Tasco 4x32 scope. Has now been on my Sig Sauer Virtus PCP ever since I got the rifle. The Tasco has worked very well for my shooting. Scope on and off with every disassembly operation of the rifle. Never ever much adjusting needed. And the turrets require no tools to use. Way sweet imo.

    I’m buying a budget air rifle for backyard squirrel hunting. I’ve opted for a pump version since I am in a residential area and don’t want to “scare” the neighbors with something too loud. That said, I plan to purchase a Daisy Powerline 901. Which of these scopes would be best suited for that rifle? I am considering the 2-7x32 over the 4x32. In comparison I was also looking at the Winchester by Daisy 4x32 air rifle scope. Thanks!

    • @bigjsoutdoorsairguns9007
      @bigjsoutdoorsairguns9007  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Steve, you know you can't go wrong with one of those old school pumpers. They are usually very reliable and don't require any co2 or an air tank or pump. It should fit your needs well. The 2-7 would be a great scope for that. Although a 4x32 is probably going to be just fine. I am actually switching a lot of my break barrels back to 4x32's. Most of those I don't shoot more than 30 yards and a 4x32 is plenty for that.
      But having the option to turn up the magnification is great! Especially when you can't see anymore like me. Lol
      These Tasco's are also tracking really well for me. Very happy with them. Let me know what you decide on and thanks for watching. I do appreciate it!

      @@bigjsoutdoorsairguns9007 I grabbed the Tasco 2-7x32 for 5 bucks more than the 4x32. FYI it barely fits on the Daisy 901 due to clearances at the rear sight. That said, I did get it mounted and it looks great. Hoping to sight it in this weekend.
