  • Quick video of The Witcher 3 running on Linux, tested on Digital Foundry's famous Novigrad run. Recorded using OBS (x264) at CRF 15, veryfast preset, Baseline profile, 30 fps, and no thread limit set. I used these lightweight settings to ensure the capture didn't have an adverse effect on performance. Sorry it's not 60fps, but that setting was very much needed to make sure the framerate didn't drop.
The overlay is DXVK's HUD and was invoked by adding "DXVK_HUD=full %command%" to the game's launch options on Steam.
I rode around Novigrad to make sure the shaders were compiled and tested different recording settings for a good while before recording this, so the game had probably been running for about an hour before I recorded this.
    PC specs:
OS: Linux Mint MATE 19.1 running kernel 5.2.11 and the latest FOSS graphics stack from Padoka's unstable PPA.
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 470 4GB (ROG STRIX-RX470-O4G-GAMING)
    RAM: 32GB of DDR4 @ 2993MHz (F4-3000C16D-32GISB)
