How to lie on your Resume, OR - write a resume for a career change or when your job history sucks

If you'd like to donate $5.00 for me sharing this with you, you can do so via paypal, here:
    py.pl/24Qka9
    Employers want to see:
    1. Two jobs (no more, no less)
    2. Titles exactly relevant to what you are applying for
    3. The exact format I have created
    4. 3 references
    5. One page only (everything belongs onna cover letter)
    Job 1= 6-8 years
    Job 2= 4 years
Find two-3 friends or family members to white lie for you. If you work for your family, if you want to get hired then on paper they should not look related to you. Use maiden names or middle names.
Good luck with your fresh start!
Here's a link to the template:

Link to the doc that you can't edit, but if you cut and paste it into your own google doc, the formatting will remain, and from there you can change things to suit your needs:

I've been laid off 3 times in 2 yrs because everything in tech is only for 1 project. On top of that, they get rid of people in April and December because of budgets; they hire just to fire through contract agencies.
Your explanation is fantastic! I wish people weren't so naive with being overly honest now. I've been hired so many times at places where they immediately sold the company off and was NEVER told any of that before being hired. Then everything immediately became hostile due to layoffs. Other times I was told I could telecommute and then after being hired, nope! Companies constantly lie to us and it's time we play their own game. They want specialized training that costs 5k a week, yet refuse to buy it for us. They make us wait for health insurance and then fire us all before it kicks in. It's sickening how cruel corporations are to people.

1 year ago when you wrote this comment and now changed for the worse. I see contract jobs looking for experience, paying entry level wages that don't justify quitting a job that pays the same just to be unemployed after the contract is done.

What do you do about education when it is not totally relevant and potentially makes you look overqualified? For example, you’re applying for a basic office admin role and you have a BS in Aerospace Engineering. Do you just omit the bachelor’s altogether?

I got the impression that you're not listing your jobs from most recent to oldest. They're most interested in what you did most recently. However, your tips about consolidating are great. Next time suggest people can put certifications for things they know but just haven't had the money for a $2000 cert - they'll never check.

One thing I will add is to not invest in one company. Apply and interview for hundreds of companies. By numbers alone, you'll eventually find someone who won't check.
You can also try to blow it off if they ask. Like "I don't have them right now but will bring them later" and hope they forget.

You can put extra years on a resume as well as different job titles. Its not hard and its done on the majority of resumes that hiring managers see. When you go to fill out the job application, put the right years on that. The resume, extend it out a few years. Its the resume they look at. Yet the job application is the one that they file.

    I have a question
If we have applied to companies before and now change the resume - take out some short companies and add the dates to other companies that we won't use as reference
Can HR go and check past submissions and see X company was mentioned before on your past submissions and dates were different? If so, should you create new email account and start from new page or should continue with those older resumes with those companies in them?

    • @CavilHelm
      @CavilHelm  ปีที่แล้ว +3

You could try creating a new email account then use your first and middle name. That would be my recommendation. If it's been more than 6 months and it's a larger company, unless you heard back from them, it's unlikely they would check. At least this is my guess.

If there’s a field you want to get into but lack experience for, do some research into it. Learn about what they do, tools and programs they may use, some of the field specific technical jargon and how to use it correctly, and use that information to make up job experience that makes sense. If you can make up some plausible job related stories about what you’ve done, use your research knowledge to answer common questions. and throw in a few well placed buzzwords, it makes it much easier to convince an interviewer. It’s about being able to talk the talk. Do that well, and you can open a lot of doors you wouldn’t have had a chance to get into otherwise
