I picked up last year's top model a few months ago when HD had them on clearance. $250 with a 5ah battery and charger, got it for more as a trim cutter and a 'cordless' leaf vac/mulcher. Then my lawn guy was out of commission for a month. I haven't gotten a tractor yet, and I have 3+ acres. Decided to put both myself and the mower through the ultimate stress test, just to see what happens. Plus I had the free time and needed the exercise. It took three sessions of 13ah worth of batteries each (already had other 40V equipment to swap batteries on the fly). I did not waste any battery on self-propel, and it would have done even better if the grass was not SO tall. But... it eventually cut all the grass with only waiting for the batteries to recharge as the only delay. Would I ever do that again, NOPE. But it was a good testament on how well built these new battery mowers are. I'd highly recommend one to anyone with a smaller yard, lol.
Good for Ryobi users...tough to beat the gen 3 EGO select cut with touch drive. Unbelievable mower. 60 min runtime..3 in 1..battery indicator on the handle, speed dial, on the handle, lights, on the handle, touch drive at your fingertips...solid review of the Ryobi 👍🇺🇸
They put a medal deck because when a mower is to light it has a tendency to be more bouncy on the lawn which makes for a uneven cut. Ego had that problem a couple years ago
My 2009 Snapper, 21 inch, 6.75 hp, has a similar height adjustment. One hand, one motion, all 4 wheels. Only reason I haven’t bought new is I can’t find something to compare.
I side discharge most of the time. It keeps the under deck much cleaner. Mulch in early spring and late fall only. Only bag when actively building the compost pile in the fall with leaves.
I'd say they're going with steel deck so that the mower isn't so bouncy over rougher yards. That's my only gripe with my plastic deck ryobi is my rather uneven yard really makes the mower bounce.
Battery powered mowers good for a very small yard! You need alot of expensive batteries to do a large yard making a gas mower much cheaper and better especially with higher grass! Good video! I would like you to do one on the gas reel mowers ! thanks
It will hold two batteries but it only draws power from one at a time. One of the ports is strictly for storage. These clowns don’t have a clue what they’re talking about. Without a doubt the worst channel I’ve seen for tool and OPE reviews Can’t believe they have as many subscribers as the do.👎👎

That makes sense. I usually just side discharge on the tractor but I’m not too crazy about my lawn

The last quality mower deck for a push mower was the cast aluminum Lawn Boy decks

ABS deck flexes and the blades hit deck when you rub up against garden edging, rocks, etc. Not a big deal once you know what you're doing.

Ryobi makes gas push mowers in the UK. I rather have a steel deck because my wife would hit a rock or stump and it would crack the composite deck.

Rear wheel drive is better, front wheel drive, when the bag gets full, front wheel traction can slip.
This is a really big mistake to not side discharge on a battery lawn mower. You can twice the grass and puts less load on the motor. Big mistake.
