- The Col de Sommeiller is a must see and do for everyone ridding off-road tracks in this area. The climb reaches almost 3000 meters above sea level and the views are breathtaking. We managed to break 2 of our bikes on the mountain so the descent became a rescue mission rather than the planned photo shots session we initially had in mind. We started our day with the Colle Cotolivier route - a nice 40 km off-road track. Back at camp we were grateful for all the help we received from our camping ground neighbors in helping us to repair the motorcycles.

Schönes Video, ich war 2009 zur Stella Alpina dort und bin mit meiner Varadero damals, wie alle anderen Biker auch, nur bis 2700-2800 m gekommen, wo ein riesiges Schneebrett, alle Hoffnungen ganz hoch zu kommen, schlagartig beendete.

Stella Alpina findet jedes Jahr am zweiten Sonntag im Juli statt und ist somit immer eine Lotterie, ob es bis hoch geht, oder nicht.
Damals hatten selbst die Jungs auf ihren Vollcrossern keine Chance.

@@colind.8647 absolut- war sehr froh so eine Klasse Truppe zu haben. Es ist nicht nur sicherer so, sondern es macht auch deutlich mehr Spaß selbst wenn mal etwas nicht nach Plan läuft 😉 Wir waren Mitte September 2020 dort

I noticed you’re using ND filters on the GoPro. I just bought them (8, 16, 32) and I was wondering if you have any tips to use them? GoPro Settings and mode etc

Thank you! Yes I do - I did a video on the video and audio setup where I talk through my current setup. There are a couple more tweaks that I do now on the Hero7 - I limit the max ISO to 400 (protunes settings) - I do not want to ISO to go too high as this will degrade the image quality too much. If you are filming in darker environments you need to take the ND filter off at some point. Also, I am using a flat color profile on both action cameras now (acutally on all cameras that I have). It is a bit more work in post production but the final result is much better. I hope this helps!

Hi Jaggi - vielen Dank ;-) wir waren Mitte September dort - ich glaube im Mai könntest Du unter Umständen noch Schnee auf der Strecke haben, da die Strecke nicht geräumt wird. Der Col de Sommeiller geht schließlich fast bis auf 3000 meter hoch
@@MotoVibes Danke für die schnelle Antwort. Genau das glaube ich auch. Ich denk aber, ich probiere es trotzdem. Beim Col de Sommeiller muss man schliesslich nicht ganz bis zur Spitze fahren ;)

Thank you very much! Yes, I alway have my phone mounted on the bike. Even in the Enduro Park where I constantly crash the bike. No problem with the phone so far.

aber selbstverständlich - besonders auf dem Gipfel haben wir uns viel Zeit gelassen die Umgebung auf uns wirken zu lassen ;-)
Kaputtes Motorrad im Urlaub hatte ich auch schon mal, aber das hält einen doch nicht auf
Ja, da hatten wir wirklich großes Glück - vor allem durch die Hilfe aus dem Camp. Es ging aber direkt so weiter die nächsten Tage - irgendwas war immer ;-)
Hmmm,.......in jedem Video das ich mir bis jetzt angesehen hab, war zumindest 1 Motorrad kaputt! Seltsam,.........oder????
Wir haben es in den ersten beiden Tagen geschafft 3 Motorräder fahruntüchtig (2x Ventildeckel & 1x Kühler) zu bekommen ;-)
Ein 4. Mal dann am 5. Tag mit dem Totalausfall der Batterie an Thomas KTM. Zum Glück ließ sich alles reparieren im Camp
