Miss my old gravely it was the convertible modle with idk what kinda engine but it had 2 diff heads you can change for diff hp on the engine . I wish I remembered what modle it was but that thing was a deadly beast to use with the sulky it pulled to ride on . And moving or plowing and if you turned on a hill the handle bar would get yah between the legs if u weren’t carfull 😂
@@FullMetalFab I know they don’t bolt right up. I think I cooked up a slick way to make it work though. If you look around, you can see other people have done it.
@@michaelmactavish4445 That would be fun. The issue is, this tractor can’t have an engine where the flywheel is on the output side without adapting the bellhousing. This makes small air cooled engines the easier choice
@@haoleboyshow-tos2279 Cool, I'll have to poke around and see if I can find some picks. Just picked up a parts c10a trans with the swiftamatic to see what the differences between it and the model L trans are. @haoleboyshow-tos2279 yeah I know what ya mean. I love the old gravelys but God sakes even in the 40s and up. The engineers must thought we was race horses just way too high geared for most work
There's 3 versions, high, medium, and low gearing. Plus, you can get gear reduction wheels. High was for mowing large properties. Intermediate was the most common, and low was for someone who was doing a lot of heavy work like snow plowing or working a large garden/market garden.
@@mikesmith-po8nd You may be thinking about the model L 4 speeds. The 8 speed tractors don’t hook up to the GRWs. The low speed versions are very rare from what I understand
Great job. Youve got it rough with few places to put the snow. Its surprising how well the blade rolls the snow along. The blower works great. Do you have a lower ground speed available on that tractor? I have a dog eater like yours that I got last spring. I may hook that one up and try it this year.
@@4sl648 I spent most of the video in the lowest gear I have. This has C10 “run behind” gears, which I thought would be better for the diesel. I’m also on 18 inch tires now. Doing the math, they roll about 50% faster than the old ones. I just kept getting stuck with the old small tires.
