Much respect for opening the original box as most would keep it sealed. I love the idea of more people opening the sets and enjoying them. Such a beautiful set.
@ I also found the original boba fett Slave 1 7144 set, it’s so crazy how different Lego Starwars got in a few short years. The OG slave 1 is so blocky and not great looking, and then this is so customized and curved.
I got this set 95% complete with both minifigs AND the collectible carrying case that some versions came with, all for less than $150 back in like 2017ish
Lego absolutely cooked making this set back in the day. I still find it hard to believe we just now gonna potential get a second Jango slave 1. Lego definitely should give us more of Jango Slave 1.
It does funnily enough hold up quite well. You really think it wouldn't but it does. Sure it's a bit outdated but not as badly as other sets from it's time.
i still don´t know how the hell you still only have 2k Subs bro, you currently are on the same level as MandR for me. Keep grinding brother, the Set is such a W. I also got it sealed 3 months ago.😃👌
Honestly a great set! My oldest brother has it and played with it all the time as a kid. Function tip: If you loosen the arms/wings up against the body of the ship (so they aren’t tightly set) then you can just tilt the ship up and gravity sets the cockpit up 🤓
Great video! Glad to see your channel is pulling views in the 4 digits! The og episode 2 sets are my lego holy grail and i finally have them all open and sealed! This set will likely see a continued rise in value over the next 22 years that i dont think the new release will necessarily impact. Especially due to personal taste in design. The older sets were Caricatures of what they sought to recreate. A simplified version of the source material. Its a clear divide that is now lost in the newer sets which strive for "accuracy" above all things. Like the 2002 vs 2022 atte. Smaller set, denser detail, double the piece count and price. And loses its "legoified" character as a result. Its what separates the og lego star wars games vs the new one. The og was a simple caricature of the stories. The new one seeks to re-tell them beat for beat. Same with this og slave 1 and the potential UCS one. Especially when it comes to the jango fig. The new mando, stormtrooper, vader helmets etc, are all micro scaled versions of the real things. They dont look like legos, they look like really small "real" helmets. Scaled up they would be wearable and are shaped to human heads, which can be seen in the "roundness" of the newer mando helmets. Whereas the older Mando, stormtrooper and vader helmets were shaped to a lego figures head and as such will have a "legoified" look that lego as a whole no longer seeks to achieve. So while the value of the set may slow due to the new UCS slave 1. I could see a MISB 7153 going for $6000+ in another 22 years Given it went from $50 to $1500 in these past 22. And since so many people invest in lego now, the stockpile of sealed newer sets is skewed compared to sealed older sets. I think something like 30% of sets sold are now kept MISB compared to 2-3% two decades ago. Its why things like the UCS gunship is still readily available for near retail price. Over-investing is slowing the rate of value and will cause a crash on the secondary market for sealed sets in some 10 years. When all the many many thousands of UCS jango slave 1's all hit the market at the same time lmao Anyways sorry for rambling! Great video and love the channel! Start a patreon so i can donate!
Thank you for the kind words and I love your thoughts on it all too. The LEGO collectors market is sure interesting, I'm just happy everyone loves me taking them back in time with the vintage reviews!
The best lego channel rn by far
It has onlyy 2k subs
You're too kind!
Agreed.

You are a great Lego Star Wars TH-camr and deserve all the subscribers you have and more and the video quality is great.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Great review, you speak coherently and have a great general flow!
Thank you!
I decided to go through my old Lego from when I was a kid and I found this set 🙂 it was so fun re building it
Oh that's awesome you found it!

And just a few months ago I finally made a bricklink order to make it 100% complete, and now it looks gorgeous on my shelf
That's an INSANE deal. WOW.

Yeah, same with the Slave 1 from 2000!!! ☝️🤓
Lovely set! I got the Slave 1 and the Obi Wan Starfighter together in 2002 from my father. It was so nice to build them and play with them together.
That sounds like it would have been an awesome time!

This video made me inspired to build a similar scale with today building
That's awesome!
i’ve wanted that jango figure ever since i played the lego star wars game in my ps2 as a kid 😭 one day
this set was better than i was expecting it has so many awesome features id only ever really focused on the figures before this.
Rumor has it we are getting a second release on 05/01/2025 for 240$
I really hope they use a lot of metallic silver pieces on the ucs slave 1 next year… that would be incredible
Oh that would look so great!
this set futs above obi wans eta-2 with hyperdrive ring set. this really need to be in the backround for sure
I might have to put it there!

@@TheBlenderInYourWalls yeah it’s 1k sealed that’s the joke
You said "over all" 9 times in this video.
Overall, which is actually one word not two, I think I need to aim higher. Those are rookie numbers.
