I am transfixed. This is the best marching band I've ever seen. The most precise drills and the white spats on black shoes creates the illusion of very fast short steps. Whoever directs all this is amazing. I will travel to see this band perform live. They say it's the best damn band in the land.
So SO much respect for the Ohio State Marching Band. Lavange is incredible, but their entire band unit should be proud of the high quality of work they CONSISTENTLY put out.

Hi John! I was a solo majorette in school and twirled baton at the level that you do, but I can't imagine doing it in a full DM uniform and tall hat. OH, and we didn't do backbends either. You are an amazing athlete and best wishes for your future. Love you YT channel.

Precision marching is just awesome. I loved going to see the band practice and perform when my parents were in grad school at Texas A&M. Really great to watch your high energy and precision! (just came from your tryout video, which was really just super impressive!)
I just came across your try out video. Where you competed with 5 other talented people. Never saw that before. I knew when you ran out to the field with your legs kicked up high & your bend over backwards, you were the winner. New subscriber just because.👍
Me, too! I was in a marching band in high school, so, as soon as I saw John Marching out with his high kicks, I knew that that he was something special! I would have loved to be in that marching band!
John, so I have a question. I was in a marching band for ten years. It was in Massachusetts and I could join when I was ten and leave in my twenties. I became the drum major at the end. But we conducted the music. Why is being a drum major like you are so different? We competed against other bands and it was military style. Doing things the way you do would NOT fly in the circuits we were in. We would get MAJOR points deducted.

I just did the same thing Shirley! My husband and I are what we call "LaVangelistas"... We knew from the first five seconds he was the winner.
Me, too! I was in a marching band in high school, so, as soon as I saw John Marching out with his high kicks, I knew that that he was something special! I would have loved to be in that marching band!
